My ophcrack did not find the password. I bought a used laptop in a thriftstore for 40 bucks, then I used a hard drive in one of my junks. It worked except there is only one user shown and it is password protected. I was think the password may have been stored to the broken computer where I got the hard drive from, or the password was store on the missing harddrive. I am really frustrated I been at it for 3 days now.
hey folks i am no computer wiz but i figured out how to retrieve my admin password a little different.all the steps where the same up until the launching the program on the disk. instead of the txt option use the graphic interface, when it opens it auto runs the crack program.highlight the administrator profile and let it go(theirs a progress bar in the window below)it took a few moments to work but it did i hope this helps.also i have a hp dv8000 with xp pro sp3
Damn I tried it, but didn't get the pw like @ 3:43 but it did say "The passwords have been saved in /tmp/ophcrack.txt. Also @ 2:41 I tried the "graphic mode" and it went into this cheesy "windows" os and I was lost. LoL I tried the instructions on the website and they're too complicated.

ok so the first thing thats wrong with this video is the fact that its asking you to download when u ned to have your ADMIN PW to do so. how am i supposed to get permission to download this thing if i DO NOT KNOW THE PW?????????????????????????????????????
Okay... I burned the CD with iso burner. Now all it does is spit the CD out everytime i try something. Oh well, i'm sick of trying to fix the admin thing. Have put 2 much time on it. Thanks for your video though... Peace.

at 3:27 On the left where it says empty passwords. It doesnt have thoose numbers by it.
Also it doesnt say found password
nor does it say brute force or preload on my computer.
It says password was relocated at a certain file somthing somthing.txt

ohpcrack doesnt do shit... it always fails to hack ... if your pass is over 4 digits it prob wont crack it..

u can also go in to safe mode with networking and dowload. If you do so neither antivirus OR UAV will react
