  • Commonweal retreats are the single most powerful healing moments I had when I experienced cancer. Smith Farm offers the same. Anyone who has been touched (gifted) with cancer has the unique opportunity to live a different life. These folks are truly dedicated to help those of us who have walked in these shoes.

  • thank you! Someone haa finally debunked the myth of new age pompousness! Thank you Michael Lerner. Getting down not going bliss! Amen!

  • Lerner has such great insight into the healing process. He and Daniel Goleman(Emotoinal Intelligence, Social Intelligence) discuss the deep connections between our emotions, our environment, and our health. The conversation is called "Environmental Health, Human Healing" There is an excerpt at morethansound (dot) net

I really enjoyed the conversation and learned a lot.

  • A 30+ yr survivor of ovarian cancer, I use holistic healing. Lerner misinterprets -- If you don't stay in touch with a positive attitude, you could be overcome by your grief, anxiety, fear, and anger -- emotions can suppress your immune system. It's not that you're supposed to deny your feelings and be happy all the time, but be able to acknowledge even your darkest feelings and still keep an underlying optimistic outlook even when it's more like a buried treasure you can't get to, it's there.

  • When I had metastatic melanoma, I took heart from a comment by M. Lerner that my kind of cancer was one of the more amenable to imagery and emotional work. That is better than being told, this is deadly so get your ready to die.

  • Michael Lerner synthesizes a lot of profound ideas in an easily understandable way. This video will help anyone struggling with a serious health condition, including cancer.

  • Dr. Lerner makes an excellent point when he says that disease is not a judgement against us. Though we might wish it otherwise, bringing light to daily living with our ongoing stresses, anxieties, and joys can make us feel whole.
