After a year of debating and saving $, I think I've finally decided to go with the Evo... More unique and from what I hear better overall... @Streetbikechamp yea get an evo. imho after being at a tuning shop with a friend "getting his evo tuned" it seems cheaper for the evos to get more power. for instance hes running a turbo back exhaust a SRI a MBC and a walbro 255 fuel pump and forge diverter valve and he got it tuned and its making 350whp and 348tq just from that. thats an evo 9

Alot of people miss the point when they buy an EVO. They think they can outrun any car in a straight line. That's not the purpose of the car. It is a rally-breed-track oriented-sports car. Not a dragster.. (with mods you CAN turn it into a drag car)Take this car to the tracks and it will kick any and everybody asses. SRT, ZR1, M3, Civic SI. etc. Nothing can touch an EVO in the CORNERS, except the STI IMHO.
@generalsaam the ZR1 is a an exceptional car, but its a rear wheel drive car. The torque on those monsters are so high; they'll wheel spin for a while before it even gets off the line. It takes years of practice to drive those things properly. That's why I add the ZR1 to the list of cars that will have a hard time with the EVO on the tracks. But on the street, the ZR1 got my money.

The stang cost about 25-30k and runs 12s with a pretty good suspension. The evo and subie with a very good suspension run high 13's for 40k, 10k into suspension and the stang wins. The Dodge Neon, the SRT-4 with a stage 1 and intake cost you new about 22 23k new to out run an evo in the 1/4. A stage 3 with a 50 trim, tires, and trans, for 40k lol thats like 600 WHP

oh, thats strange i ran out of room to type so i posted another one correcting that, with a bully dog chip and no turbo's its pushing 640 horses (stock is just under 500) with the twin turbo's programmed and tuned properly at 30 psi it's pushing 950 horse. and thats at the wheels.
however i blew a tranny seal when i dyno'd it at 950 (972 to be exact) so it's being rebuilt right now, ill post a video after i break it in cheer's
In reply to that v8 part in your post, that would throw off the car's maneuverability heavily. Maybe an aluminum inline six, but not a v8. It would kill the point of the car, but for a drag I see where you'd be coming from. That would be down right nasty.
I love the idea that the japanese are using one main equation, power/weight ratio. American customer's just want big burly v8 engines that bring big torque number's , however they don't realize that their 325hp muscle, weighs around 3600 pounds. and that's light.
I love my gt, but Ive alway's been a sucker too "rice" (well designed light vehicles) my neighbour has a "built" ams mazda 3 2.3L twin turbo pushing 390 horsepower and it would walk away from my gt when it was stock. yes all 500 of it!
Torque is the only thing big blocks have that cannot be achieved with a 4cylinder. Sure they can both have 1400hp, but the big v8 would have almost matching torque, while the 4cyl would be out a couple hundred on the torque system.
But you're right, people always underestimate the power to weight ratio. They think their 1000hp 5ton truck is better than a 500hp 1500lbs four banger xD Makes me lulz.
depends on suspension. a heavier car CAN out maneuver a lighter one if the suspension is right. just because the car is lighter doesn't always mean it is faster. the GTR is 3800 lbs and 200 bhp less than the zr1 and gets around the 'ring almost as fast. gearing, torque-band, P/Wr, and driver mod all have something to do with it.
well the tanner foust scion tc has a v8 in it and it is a drift car that handles very well. it all depends on how you put it together, anything is possible.
im a muscle car guy, (2006 ford ft 500, twin bt 40 turbo's (30psi) running 640horses. khumo red line (19 inch tires) and i have the balls to admit that these car's look amazing and drive even better when it comes to modified evo's and jap cars. they just need a v8 or similar to the gtr motor in them and there unbeatable!
v8 would unbalance the car, and a motor similar to the gtr would be to expensive..the 4g63, 4b11, ej20,22,and 205 are just fine. but a nice v6 or h6 would be nice, im not going to lie..i dunno if a inline would fit. nice mustang specs tho i bet its a monster you got.
cheer's yea thats what holds the mustang's back, there big burly cast iron block (500 only) I believe the gt has a 4.6 aluminum block, not sure though, My boss bought a gtr, the things are absolutly insane stock vs my mustang when it was stock, the gtr had a full car length by 2nd gear, once i reached 4th i cought up and stuck neck and neck with him his now has high comp pistons (12:1) mine has stock internals, only turbo'd and larger capacity rad/cooling system.

Subaru the best at what? No doubt they are pretty cool if your into that sort of thing. But from what I've heard from my friends who have tuned both scoobys and evos, and every car review I've ever read or seen comparing them, the evo always outperforms the scooby.

some cars arent good with boost. if i take my car to florida to aj performance i can get a turbo kit making 400whp on about 10 psi. and i drive a 06 civic si. lol. sad isnt it?

oh, thats strange i ran out of room to type so i posted another one correcting that, with a bully dog chip and no turbo's its pushing 640 horses (stock is just under 500) with the twin turbo's programmed and tuned properly at 30 psi it's pushing 950 horse. and thats at the wheels.
however i blew a tranny seal when i dyno'd it at 950 (972 to be exact) so it's being rebuilt right now, ill post a video after i break it in cheer's

In reply to that v8 part in your post, that would throw off the car's maneuverability heavily. Maybe an aluminum inline six, but not a v8. It would kill the point of the car, but for a drag I see where you'd be coming from. That would be down right nasty.

I love the idea that the japanese are using one main equation, power/weight ratio. American customer's just want big burly v8 engines that bring big torque number's , however they don't realize that their 325hp muscle, weighs around 3600 pounds. and that's light.
I love my gt, but Ive alway's been a sucker too "rice" (well designed light vehicles) my neighbour has a "built" ams mazda 3 2.3L twin turbo pushing 390 horsepower and it would walk away from my gt when it was stock. yes all 500 of it!

Torque is the only thing big blocks have that cannot be achieved with a 4cylinder. Sure they can both have 1400hp, but the big v8 would have almost matching torque, while the 4cyl would be out a couple hundred on the torque system.
But you're right, people always underestimate the power to weight ratio. They think their 1000hp 5ton truck is better than a 500hp 1500lbs four banger xD Makes me lulz.

depends on suspension. a heavier car CAN out maneuver a lighter one if the suspension is right. just because the car is lighter doesn't always mean it is faster. the GTR is 3800 lbs and 200 bhp less than the zr1 and gets around the 'ring almost as fast. gearing, torque-band, P/Wr, and driver mod all have something to do with it.

well the tanner foust scion tc has a v8 in it and it is a drift car that handles very well. it all depends on how you put it together, anything is possible.

im a muscle car guy, (2006 ford ft 500, twin bt 40 turbo's (30psi) running 640horses. khumo red line (19 inch tires) and i have the balls to admit that these car's look amazing and drive even better when it comes to modified evo's and jap cars. they just need a v8 or similar to the gtr motor in them and there unbeatable!

v8 would unbalance the car, and a motor similar to the gtr would be to expensive..the 4g63, 4b11, ej20,22,and 205 are just fine. but a nice v6 or h6 would be nice, im not going to lie..i dunno if a inline would fit. nice mustang specs tho i bet its a monster you got.

cheer's yea thats what holds the mustang's back, there big burly cast iron block (500 only) I believe the gt has a 4.6 aluminum block, not sure though, My boss bought a gtr, the things are absolutly insane stock vs my mustang when it was stock, the gtr had a full car length by 2nd gear, once i reached 4th i cought up and stuck neck and neck with him his now has high comp pistons (12:1) mine has stock internals, only turbo'd and larger capacity rad/cooling system.
