Thanks. So, I am on the right track with Sony. I was kinda hoping that you might elaborate more and say something like, "Yeah, get the Sony XJ Flip-Out with sub-woofer sound control," or something. Sony is a good start though. I think I will just have to get my feet wet anyway. I've not seen any new vids from you. I check now and then.
Hi Syd, I contacted you last year, I think, about the cottonwood tree video. Cottonwoods are one of my favorites. I'm looking at video cams now and wanting to do some videos. Would you please enlighten me with your two cents on what a good cam set up is. I'm thinking about Sony. Are there How To For Dummies texts or videos on this topic? Dan , Pryor, Ok
@barefootsneakers Hey Dan. Sony's always been my brand of choice. Good cams, as far as I can tell, are getting much cheaper now that there are things like the Flip out there (not to mention high pix smartphones).
I'm no one to give hardware advice- that's for sure. If you're just starting out with a cam, I'd at least say that's a good way to go, as far as my own experience goes. :o)
Thank you for this wonderful video! I'm definitely going to come here more, to climb with you and Tori as well, and think about the things we just don't know, and don't see, but become aware of in short moments that are gifts of that we cannot constantly perceive because of our energy being absorbed by our language, our kind, our perception...i chelrish these moments the most; and this moment with you, too. So glad to have found you, and the moth i'm sure knew for a sec...Love, Rickie
No worries about the typos, you still get your message across, that's all that matters.
Thank you for commenting, and I'm glad you're connecting with Grandma Cottonwood. That's sure to put a smile on Tori's face when she comes to visit again. :-)
im sucked into this now,,just from the love of trees,,i LOVE TREES and this video is soinspiring,,goos job and i love tori-she is very strong - she has a disease that only stong ppl can handel..(i have it too and im not as stong-i cry alot-bigbabytype)
((kelly and deb)) i am so glad you connected with the video. it was truly an amazing gift. i still come, often in fact, and climb her. she is very calming to my spirit. and, guess what? you're strong too gal. don't underestimate yourself in that department. take care. ((hugs))
Very touching and intimate video. It's the first thing I've ever seen that comes even close to depicting how I feel about trees, especially bare winter trees. Thank you so very much for making this video and posting it here!
You should check out a vlogger over at LiveVideo...her name is Tree3 and she's done a bunch of vids (artsy) on trees (look for the earlier ones). She's actually an accomplished artist.
Just came back from watching some videos by Tree3. Thanks for the heads up on what she's doing. Very interesting person and has done some good vids. BTW...what is the music you used for your video? I think that may be the credits at the end but darned if I can find it. TIA!
I just have to say that that was awesome. What a very special friend you are tori. That was so beautiful. What an excellent place to be. Take care. :)
Hearwarmingly fun, love your work and am realizing how far behind I am with it. *goes to see who this "tori" is* peacelovehappynessforeverandeverandeverandever.
What an amazing video..really moving! Cottonwoods are so beautiful, and unlike most trees they grow so strong and not to mention fast... Anyone intrested in planting one for themselves should go to myspace.comfastestgrowingtrees
They DO grow quickly. There's one in my yard that wasn't big enough to support a small child climbing its limbs, bu about six years ago,and now it towers high and its width and fullness provides my little place shade for a good part of the day. Thanks for commenting.
That was incredibly well done, and very moving. I feel warmth in my chest, as though the veins of rigid sediment have been loosened and the energy there can move freely again. Thanks so much for sharing.
this video brought tears to my eyes.the video was wicked beautiful,i never heard of a cottonwood tree before,i felt like i was up there with you and Tori, also love the music what was it ,ty for sharing huggsss Nancy
Thanks Nancy! I think the music's incredibly moving, too. I'm glad I found it before making this vid. When I added it and then viewed it for the first time with the music, I got a little teary-eyed myself.
wow...what a blessing you could share the experience with all of us...it is truly something significant and edifying to the spirit soul AND body...thanks for climbing...
wow.. you seriously captured the beauty of that tree... such a simplistic thing... trees... part of our eden...and we dont pay enough attention to them... amazing... thank you..
well clearly at least one of us isn't unaware.. that was an absolutely stunning vid, well worth the immense effort it must've taken - i love your appreciation of the world
Syd, this is just beautiful. Your vids are often thought provoking, sometimes amusing and never, never dull. Once again, I say to you, those are some lucky students you have.
You would laugh so hard if you saw (or heard) the stuff I edited out!!! I was cursing and laughing the whole way up, knowing that all I needed were the visuals to get her up there. Tori and I laughed about that last night.
well, all i can say is... whether my need big, small, or indifferent, friendship surpasses our own limitations. when you want to change someones life forever, take their hand and guide them up a tree! grateful! .... *tori*
Simply Amazing. Listening to nature is how God brings me to peace. I use to go hiking and camping away from everything. The history, strength and grace of that tree is very relaxing to watch on my Tv. I can only image what its like to be at the top of her.
Oh my goodness...I'm coming over right now and climbing with you. Look at that beautiful place where you are. Where DO you live, anyway??? What a gorgeous tree. Do you know that if you sit at the base of a tree with your back to her, she'll tell you her wisdom? We're all sharing the same reality...we are one. Mitakuye Oyasin! Beautiful video, Syd.
Thanks. So, I am on the right track with Sony. I was kinda hoping that you might elaborate more and say something like, "Yeah, get the Sony XJ Flip-Out with sub-woofer sound control," or something.
