@rickswing Thanks man. Believe it or not I don't even have an amp right now. Gave my Peavy Chrous to my son years ago. I'm playing directly into my laptop.
@AndreGole I've got the action pretty low on this Guitar. Hence some fret buzz down in the lower register. But listening to alot of Wes's stuff his guitars had it too. ;)
Great to hear and see (very clearly) someone playing in the class Wes way. I don't play jazz (not enough talent), preferring folk and blues, but over the years I've come to rely on using my thumb instead of a pick. Thanks for such a great, clear video.
The sound and playing is fantastic. I love Wes and you seem to have captured his tone and style very very well. How do you like your Peerless Monarch? I'm a student looking for a Wes-like tone and an improvement to my Epi Joe Pass, and I'm kind of stuck between getting either a Monarch or a Cremona. Any thoughts?
Hello, I came here looking for information about guitar Peerless Monarch, and that I find it? ... a firefighter who is a great guitarist, with a lovely sound, and like me is a fan of Wes, and also as I used Band in a Box to create backingtracks (very good your Ecaroh arrangement )!!! You are my brother ;-) I really hope that someday you become a professional musician or at least do your recordings, because you really play the guitar extremely well. You record the guitar directly to the PC?
hello, Wes was certainly one of the few that didn't rely on memorized patterns like we hear from the technicians. Too me,he was at the top of the heap of guitarists with Grant Green and Kenny Burrell right behind him in terms of saying something with the notes. Wes was the real deal!
@jazz1bro You are right about Wes not playing in positions on the instrument. I've learned a lot over the years watching Wes play. He just seemed to know where every note was on the instrument didn't he? Which made his phrasing beautiful. I hate playing in positions now. It's not necessary anymore unless I'm playing Spanish guitar with a pick and need the speed. Don't know much about Grant Green but Kenny Burrell is also very tasty with his ideas.
@Beppeblues Thanks man. I would like to think that Wes's ideas flow through me from time to time. But the truth is that these ideas are all WES. But it feels good to be able to play his music.
You have got the Wes tone dialed in. This is simply exquisite. What amp do you use with your Peerless?

it seems to me that this guitar has problems with frets. there's an annoying buzz. a pity since you're very good man. cheers from italy!

Muchas gracias por la información. Está claro que la Monarch es una buena guitarra, pero la belleza del sonido esta en tus manos y en tu corazon.
Thank you very much for the information. Clearly, the Monarch is a good guitar, but the beauty of sound is in your hands and your heart.
