Carlie is so lucky to have brothers. Its one thing for me being an only child to think in the future when i meet someone and have kids and just for some reason it goes wrong. I feel like there won't be the help there. A fear of the kid not having father figures. It's so cool the way your family is. You are so lucky Carlie!
When Carlie was talking about Cooper praying and being so thankful for Shay and Casey I seriously thought I was going to start balling. It was so sweet and I could see that she was telling the truth.
also idk how your partner could be more important, to me they should all be equally important. but if my house was on fire and i had to pick i would pick my child, no matter how hard it would be to live without them.
i think you should love ur children and wife equally, and not your spouse be number one. because your child is your blood, they will always be in your life and love you, your partner could leave you or cheat , god forbid that ever happens.
i agree with what shay said about strong families and their importance, but i have to say that the problem lies within "the matter of choice,... as a collective we can say we love eachother" - because one person alone can choose as much as possible to have a strong family, if they´re alone in that choice or their definition of family, there won´t be a strong family, because it is always collective agreement.
I love this family so much, it's so close and they really do have a special bond, especially when Carlie was talking about Cooper. I think what Shay was saying about putting Colette first was really sweet because loving your wife is a different kind of love you give to your kids. THEY ARE SO SWEET! :) And yes, Casey and Shay should be on here again :) x
I loved that quote Kayli used and Shay was so on point talking about the world needing strong families coz that's what it's all about. And the fact that he puts his wife first and he's 100% honest about it with his kids is amazing. I'm sure I speak for lots of viewers wen I say I want a husband like Shay when the time comes coz although my mum and dad have been married for 25 years I've never witnessed a man so openly express his love for his wife and his kids to them and the world! Beautiful <3
How do you talk to your parents after a terrible fight where they gave up on you and sent you to live with your grandparents in Japan because they had enough?
im a new viewer i have been watching your videoes all morning. love them all, you guys are such an amazing family. yeah i like the idea of the dad's coming on more. i balled so much when carlie was talking about cooper.casey and his wife are such a good loooking couple.
I started dating my husband in middle school. I was 13 and now I'm going on 27 and we are still happily together with a wonderful 7 year old daughter. I love him so much and would totally do it over again!
I seriously love when they talk about that. Like my parents have been married almost 25 years but there where times when I was younger that my parents would fight because of situations about my brother and I. Looking back, I feel bad that I may have been the reason for an argument between my parents and I hope that when I get married I can work on putting my relationship first. I also think some people may not understand that. They think the child comes first but to me it is true you need to p
when i watched this i cryed a little . and me being a college boy, its wierd to cry. ive been having family problems with being away from my family so much. but i feel that ive been watching the shaytards vlogs for 2 years now, and i feel that im part of their family. its wierd to ssay that but i feel inspired by them to be the best i can be! u guys all rock!!!!
seriously, when Shea spoke about mommytard being #1... really reminds me of my dad. In high school if I was fighting with my mom. he would come to me calmly and tell me. "You dont need to tell me what you did, if you are right or what mom did, because all that I remember hearing is that you were disrespecting mom by yelling at her, so even if she was wrong, you are in trouble" - So true and now at 27 I can so respect that! but then it made me so mad.. like dad.. really? did you hear our fight?
I definitely do not have a close family at all. But from watching shay and Colette over the year I have already decided that I am going to make sure my kids know they can trust me and my husband some day. I honestly don't really tell my parents much but when I have kids they will know that they can come to me with anything and they will know they are loved. And yes, my husband will be just like shay!! Lol
I love my 2 year old daughter more than anything in the world. My wife and I are only in our early 20s and we have a son on the way. We decided we would always put our kids first and love them the most. After hearing shay talk about this a while back we made a change I realized that the best thing I could do for my daughter is show her how a real man should treat her. Shay might not always be a mans man like I pride myself on being but he has taught me how to be a better man.
A wise man learns from the mistakes of others, while a fool only learns from his own mistakes. I think that was what Shay was trying to say. Which I believe is from Confucius.
I cried so much during this video. I love this whole family, but they Remind me of my family's weak relationship. I'm really only close to my sister. I hope one day I can have a family as wonderful and great as theirs :)
Coopers dad is a fucking scumbag. If carlie is like she is on the vlogs anyway lol she's like the perfect woman imo and I'm looking for one who's like her to settle down with. She's loving has a sense of humour and keeps in shape, best three qualities in a woman!
hey what's up enjoy the show. one improvement i think would be to get more of a round couch. so host don't have lean over each other to make eye contact. thanks good luck in the future. peace
Although i'm not a parent, i feel like having a Dad's View show is a wonderful idea. Its a concept that I've never seen anywhere & an area that is never really touched on. Especially with how many 'broken' families & children with absent fathers there are, it's refreshing to hear from fathers that are very involved in parenting & their child[ren]'s life[s].
Love the comments that the husband / wife relationship is more important, That is so true when the kids are moved out you only have each other. I'm so close to that Baby boy 19. So I am so glad I have my hubby. Wow great shows.
Carlie don't listen to Shay. You made it more real when you cried, I even teared up for you. Your such a sweetie. Shay you needed a slap on the back of thead for the cry baby remark typical brother comment, LOL
i love it when the dads are there like i hope when my brothers are older and get married they become like shay and casey such good guys ... i wish all guys thought like them too then every women would be happy.. id love for them to talk about their moms and especially mommytard and her mom and the loss of her mom
Katilette and Shay have very different energies, She's definitely introverted and he's an extrovert. I can see Katilette totally calms Shay down when he get's worked up. Opposites attract!
I'm so glad they did this, and I hope they do more. As a young man excited about fatherhood, I want to enjoy and learn more about being a good dad, these 2 show me how I want to approach fatherhood.
@Shaymeonyoo dude he worked his ass off. He exercised everyday, he cut out all fatty and unhealthy foods and ate the things that you're supposed to eat. He stopped over-eating and he kept his caloric intake to a normal level. There's absolutely nothing unnatural about Shay's weight loss. Thats whats wrong with America, the fact that they can look at somebody who worked their ass off and did all the right things to lose weight, but somehow discredit him and say its not normal. Hes THE model
carlie made me cry my eyes out because i have two brothers also and just thinking if that ever happens to me and my brothers there for me in the future
I just wanna say that this video is so heartfelt, and that it gives so much hope to broken families out there. I grew up without a dad, but having father figures in my uncles helped me a lot. I also admire my mom for raising my brother and me so well, singlehandedly. You guys continue pushing your idea of good, solid family ties... This is what the world needs. I used to wonder how a good understanding family would look like.... now I've seen it in you.
The guys create a great dynamic! More of it for sure.
I feel like I relate to you guys so much being from a huge and very close family. It gives me the experience of that family time I miss so much.
The extraordinary diversity and experiences between all of you in this whole series is so refreshing and relatable to a divorced, mid-twenties mom like myself. Thank you for putting real and insightful content into the viral universe.
Hi , i'm 13 and after watching this, i feel like i'm slowly making stupid mistakes. Like me and my dad are the biggest frienemys. We hang out all the time but i fight with him as much as I do my sisters.Even now i look back at recent things I would fight him about and how i'm being stupid and he is right. Like when we do get into little things I get so caught up in the moment I keep making the same stupid mistake, leading to us screaming at each other. (PS my parent dated since 14 ,32 years ago)
I love these guys and gals!!! And I love that they have Miya and Carly there to offer a different perspective, a lot of people are raising their children on their own these days so its nice to have that side of it as well.
i am 16 and my parents are both 53, they have been together since they were 16 and still have a strong relationship, its even stronger now because my dad just got over cancer, and somehow that brought them closer.
this really made me look at things, yes we all have our own issues, i only wish i was as lucky as the shay fam. but we should all do the best we can do with what we have:)
aww i cried with carlie cus im currently growing up without a dad and its hard sometimes to think that im never gonna have some of the things that shay is talking. When you guys talked about finding a boyfriend thats similar to your dad -it sounds weird but shay is my father figure and i wannna find someone with the personallity like him cus i want a happy family and even though i dont have that at the moment it doesent mean i cant have it in the future. thanks shay for being my father figure :)
how can people dislike something so positive? can someone please answer this? and shay i love you and your family. i don't have a dad and since i have found your youtube ( i stumbled upon your vlogs when you first started.) you and your family have taught me how to be a man. im 23 and have made some mistakes in my life like everyone but shay i have so much respect for you and i watch your video every day. your my father figure. i just wish it wasn't thru youtube. thanks shay
shay's stern face when carlie was talking about her and her ex not having a good relationship just before she cried... d'awwww. that set me off already! :')
I've been with my boyfriend for almost three years, since we were fourteen and it's so funny that everyone is always asking "Are you guys still together??" and I they're so surprised when I tell them we are. Even though we are so young I feel like we are mature enough to balance each other and put school and our family first. I think that's why we'll be a rarity like Casey and Kayli and stay together in a healthy way :) You guys are such amazing inspirations!
Miya portrays her life as perfect in every way and it bothers me so much. No mother is perfect but she is always saying "we do it really well" it makes her seem fake and it makes me wonder if shes a bad mom bc she has to paint us the perfect picture. :(
My dad chose alcohol over his 3 children. This video makes me sad kinda but also makes me know what to look for when it comes to finding a husband and a father to my future kids. Maybe I should grow up first though I'm only 16 haha.
i loved my dad and will always until i die and even into the afterlife because i know he loved me more than anything
i remember when i failed my first year of university my parents had paid for tuition and everything and when my dad got the letter he had been drinking and seemed drunk and from previous situations he has gone crazy before but somehow he just stopped being drunk for that one instant and calmly talked to me
this is really rare to find marry the person you dated at 15. My family always told me the same thing but my soon to be husband and i we met when i was 10 i fell for him hard same for him but we lost contact for 8 years and now we are so happy and getting married. but it is very rare
like = UNLIKE! Make an effort to eliminate "like" in your conversations. You come across as though you don't know what you're saying and are making something up. Some interesting observations, though.
i don't think a parent has to love their spouse more than their kids. i've never asked, but i feel like my parents love eachother and me and my siblings all equally. there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!
also, if my dad told me that if the house was on fire he would save my mom first, i'd feel pretty hurt. even if it was true, that is just not something you want to know from your parents.
Hey guys, I am 14 and the only girl out of my siblings. When you guys said that fathers should put their wives before their own child, it made me both shocked and devastated. :( I thought I was my dads favourite girl !!
It wasso nice hearing your points of view on some much! I feel like I have a better understanding of you all and I feel closer to you in a way. I also feel inspired and I laughed and cried during this video!
I laughed cause this made me think about my family and all the good times! But then I cried soooooo hard when carlie started crying! YAY for big bros! And great single moms and great dads and parents and mommies!!!!!!!!
I'm 20, and although you guys are older than me I still see you as peers. I don't have kids, but I still have parents and hearing the same things my parents say from people I consider peers changes the message so much. I feel like these videos give me insight into my relationship with my parents, and one day in the future I may use these same strategies. The Moms View is an awesome channel, thanks for posting! :)
And I love Shay and Casey on the show! They should come back!
I'm in that stage where I argue with my parents when you're a teenager, the really emotional arguments and stuff. I'm a good kid, but I completely get what they mean xD
Aww, that's so sweet and so great that Cooper thinks of Shay and Casey as his dads! They are such great role-models. :) I wish I was a part of their family, they're so close!
I love this channel and all the people in the show. You don't even understand. Although, I don't agree with everything that you guys believe in. I was always my Mom's number one priority. If she had loved my Dad more than me, I would have been in a foster home. My Dad didn't want me anymore. I'm so thankful for a great Mommy. Your kids are lucky to have y'all as parents. I love you guys.
I find it very hard to talk to my dad about...anything. He would tell me that I wasn't good enough and never really showed love. I just feel uncomfortable when I try to talk to him. I know he loves me but I just don't feel close to him. For some reason I'm not that upset about it though. :P haha
i LOVE hearing about this - your experiences and your big family... you all are really inspiring. I want my future family to be based on the values etc. that I learned from you. Thank you so much. Happy families will solve 75% of world problems! lol
my mom always said we could tell her anything and everything, and i tested her with stuff and she would always listen first, pause and collect her thoughts, and then give her opinion. To this day I still tell her the truth about everything, even when she doesn't want to hear it, the good, bad, and the ugly. My sisters have a much harder time talking to her about a lot of things tho. So I really think it also depends on your children and how open they are as people.
i cried because my mother raised me as a single mom and she did a phenomenal job regardless of the fact that my father was basically worthless. and i do appreciate you sharing your struggle Carlie, it means the absolute world to me. So thank you, you are beautiful, hilarious, emotional (which is a great thing to be) creature... cooper is blessed to have a mother life you.
I know that this show is really meant for mom's or dad's, but... This really helped me. Because now I can understand my parents. Understand that when they're yelling, maybe they want to try to help me, and want better for me. So I shouldn't yell back and start a whole argument.
Plz bring them back this so far has been my fav 2 episodes

i agree with what shay said about strong families and their importance, but i have to say that the problem lies within "the matter of choice,... as a collective we can say we love eachother" - because one person alone can choose as much as possible to have a strong family, if they´re alone in that choice or their definition of family, there won´t be a strong family, because it is always collective agreement.

i remember when i failed my first year of university my parents had paid for tuition and everything and when my dad got the letter he had been drinking and seemed drunk and from previous situations he has gone crazy before but somehow he just stopped being drunk for that one instant and calmly talked to me

like = UNLIKE! Make an effort to eliminate "like" in your conversations. You come across as though you don't know what you're saying and are making something up. Some interesting observations, though.
jackybaby72 1 month ago
i don't think a parent has to love their spouse more than their kids. i've never asked, but i feel like my parents love eachother and me and my siblings all equally. there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!
also, if my dad told me that if the house was on fire he would save my mom first, i'd feel pretty hurt. even if it was true, that is just not something you want to know from your parents.

I love you guys.

my mom always said we could tell her anything and everything, and i tested her with stuff and she would always listen first, pause and collect her thoughts, and then give her opinion. To this day I still tell her the truth about everything, even when she doesn't want to hear it, the good, bad, and the ugly. My sisters have a much harder time talking to her about a lot of things tho. So I really think it also depends on your children and how open they are as people.

I know that this show is really meant for mom's or dad's, but... This really helped me. Because now I can understand my parents. Understand that when they're yelling, maybe they want to try to help me, and want better for me. So I shouldn't yell back and start a whole argument.
