  • When will people understand the reason why some people ''never get fat'' and seem to stay lean is because their body has a efficient response to insulin and because of this they expend energy instead of ''depositing'' fat. Where as most people that fall within the obese category have a poor response to insulin or ''insulin resistance'' meaning that everything they eat especially starchy carbs is more likely to be turned instantly to fat instead of converted to energy, It's all biological.

  • there are thin people that eat 2-3X more then most fat people. but most thin people will think that fat people just dont stop eating but if you watch all 7 parts of this show you should understand that you yourslef may eat more then most fat people. some fat people cant stop eatting but look closely to this video and you should understand that the ones that are abnormal are the people that cant gain weght eatting the same amount of food. its thanks to this video i dont pick on fat people anymore

  • It's obvious that if fat people looked at that table of food they'd be excited, while the thin people look at it like it's going to be unpleasant to force themselves to eat all that. It's a mindset- obese people eat way more than they need because it makes them feel good- thin people eat because they have to, and don't oversaw about food.

  • I think the question is why are the "thin" people treated as if they are the abnormal ones? It used to be normal to be thin, and now we are asking why they aren't fat? Are people really this stupid? Is it really that much of a mystery?

  • @korvix Wrong... They eat too much fat or processed carbohydrates. Natural foods such as fruit, vegetables and rice won't make people obese, and these are carbs. Then again, natural fats don't make people obese either (avocados etc.) so perhaps it's all because of unnatural foods which your body doesn't recognize as food...

  • A child grows because of growth hormone. Muscles grow because of testosterone, IGF and many other hormones and peptides. Why should fat tissue growth be any different?

  • @MrGrumpybear88, I have to disagree with you. While I would agree that *most* naturally thin women can get fat later in life, some of us stay thin forever. I'm 37 with two children and still struggle to maintain a BMI of 19. Granted, prior to having children I couldn't get above a 16 BMI, so I'm not as bad as I used to be. However, I have to consume 4,000-5,000 calories a day in order to do be in the "healthy" BMI range. I could never be overweight.

  • I think naturally thin females can get fat as well.My mum is naturally skinny from when she was young until she have my sister and me that she started to gain weight.But it's still never in the obese category it's just the overweight range.As of now her bmi is back to normal.

  • @thehotblondechick Nah it's just mentality and habits. I work full time, 8 am - 5 pm. I have other hobbies: play guitar in two bands. I still have time to go to the gym three times a week. If you really honestly wanna do something, you'll find a way of making it happen.

  • Also the 'eating whatever I want' can also not mean much, some people leave half their food when they go out to eat! If I ate so I was constantly full and picking/nibbling throughout (e.g. get invited to a wedding every day) it would be in far excess of 5000kcal including any fruit juice or cider etc. If you can eat 5000kcal a day without huge quantities of exercise or gaining weight (or being a 6 foot 8 450lb roided muscle beast), then frankly I don't believe you.

  • I'm 5 foot 5 and 160-165 pounds and have a stomach like the woman at the beginning of the video so I'd describe myself as slimmish but a bit bulky. I think I have a fastish metabolism but I usually end up getting a bag of jelly beans or a 100g chocolate bar when I'm out, and love buttery toasties, but have days where I don't eat much during the day other than fruit. I think I could get to the 12 stone (168lbs pretty easily within a few days stuffing my face to the brim).

  • this is me. whats weird is that losing weight is almost just as hard. plus, gaining muscle and losing muscle almost never happens despite how much or little i work out.

  • I am 5'7", 52kilos, 32D-24-33. My only work out is... 50min of walking 5 times a week. Plus I think I do reformer pilates 4-8 times a month. I eat huge breakfast (baguette slices, cheese, yogurt, ham, espresso...) and big lunch ( chicken breat + onions... or BLT is my usual) and small dinner. I do spurge on snack once in a while, at night. (wine + cheese + nuts).

    SO MY POINT IS... ITS NOT YOUR ANCESTORS FAULT. ITS WHAT YOU EAT THAT MAKES YOU BIG. DONT EAT PROCESSED FOOD N U'LL BE FINE.

  • Many overweight people lost a lots of weight on raw food diet and successfully maintain it. Look at the Angela Stokes Monarch from the RawFoodWorld, Vicktoria Boutenko, Dave the Raw Food Trucker and many others.

    You can also watch a big hit "Fat, sick and nearly dead" for great inspiration and real hope for you, if you want to release fat weight and maintain it.

  • You didn't "get fat" in 6 days, 6 weeks, or 6 months -- so don't expect to "get fit" in such an asurd amount of time, unlike what magazine companies would like you to believe. "But ever since I can remember I've been fat" -- BINGO. Think about that statement for a second. Now, go ahead and thank your parents for that. Metabolism is the byproduct of proper eating habits, not the other way around. If you eat smaller meals more frequently, you boost your matabolism. Over years this becomes regular.

  • HERE is the missing part of this so called "mystery". The amount of FAT cells that your body deems "acceptable" is determined in your youth. Yes, that is correct -- PART of it is genetics (and a very SMALL % is), but the other harsh truth is that if your parents did not raise you with proper eating habits when you were young, guess what? Now you have to fight an uphill battle. This is why proper nutrition is so important.

  • There are no such people who can't gain weight. I'm 6'3" and I was 130 lbs most of my adult life and gained 65 lbs in 3 month... I worked out every 2 days and ate home cooked rice, chicken, fish and vegetables.
