  • ok wtf.

  • This is not a song, he is talking...

  • everyone that dislikes this is missing the fucking point,it's not some song that you're supposed to dance to and make you feel good. It's about a fucked up story....and the soundtrack behind the story fits the terrifying story perfectly,it's repitition is what pulls you in...you all are deficient.

  • 1 question!! If Frankie dies at 4:47 than why does this painfully bland song by a band with limited talent go on for an extra 6 minutes?

  • @tomrobinson691 To annoy people like you.

  • @TheJoeyTaylor Tommy Robinson is a faggot

  • dafuq did i just listen?

  • that was scary o.O

  • when he screamed i jumped out of my seat

  • What a piece of boring over-rated shit!!

  • @tomrobinson691 Far from over rated.

  • this song scared the shit out of me

  • True shit. When I was a teenager I heard this song on Pacifica Public Radio in Houston TX. It was the only time I has ever heard it. It made the hair stand on the back of my neck. A few months later I called the radio station to request it. The DJ half flipped out and told me that it was spinning on the turntable and next on the que. Sure enough the next song was Frankie Teardrop.

  • The beat is fucking terrifying

  • Pfft. I used to fall asleep to Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music. A little Suicide on a regular basis ain't no thang.

  • This song is messed up.

    I like it.

  • this is hardly a song. it's really cool though

  • @Fenderprecision51 its a song just avant garde

  • @TinyMontgomery204 You've probably never read Lolita, or seen Irreversible by Gaspar Noe, or listened to anything else that pushes the envelope on topics that are taboo yet a reality. Granted we know that Frankie's actions are unnerving and a disturbing thing to talk about. Yet isn't that the point of the song? Everything from the primal drum machine down to the shrieks is executed (no pun intended) on a level so hair raising, that to call it anything but a masterpiece is an injustice to no-wave

  • this song is really unsettling

  • This would fit The Shining so well.

  • 'we're all frankies', 'we're all lying in hell'.....wow. kinda makes "american idol" seem so, well, ridiculous. i hadnt seen that show since the "like a virgin' guy (season II?) and william hung.

  • this...is....so bleak. i want to commit suicide. no, really, im multi-tasking online while listening to this and its gotten under my skin. my pulse is actually quickening. call me a moron, i dont care - i like that i can still 'feel' music, whether its this unnerving song, or a go-gos hit. (no, i dont use drugs).

  • listen.....

  • pure art

  • lets hear it for Frankie

  • Combat Shock ending. Frankie kills his wife and baby.

  • The lyrics remind me of the song "Family Man" of Black Flag.

  • So this is what Frankie got up to in Hollywood huh

  • Don't get me wrong, though. This song is genius, and I love it. I can choose not to go nuts with it... Mostly by skipping it, but I can have some self control, especially when there's people around me.

  • This song sickens me.

    In a very specific way...

I turn into the song. It's not the only song that does this to me. But this is the one with the worst effect. Last time I listened to it, I almost puked. I went fucking nuts. My breathing was completely shaken up, and it took me a while to go back to normal rate once it was done. The whole experience after all the shouting (Which was what really got me into the song. I wasn't paying that much attention before) It was almost... Claustrophobic...

  • @TheSlugkid Agreed, this song physically and mentally fucks me up. Last time I listened to it, withdrawing from alcohol, I had a serious anxiety attack, and was paranoid for almost a week. I still cant bring myself to watch the video. I actually just jumped as I wax typing, the first scream.

  • Comment removed

  • the screams are unnerving but its a good song all together

  • Suicide makes me want to live.

  • beatutiful, yet when i first heard it i nearly pissed my pants and im scared of listening to it.............

  • This is weird.

  • beautiful heart wrenching painfully bliss song great!

  • Combat Shock baby!

  • Kurt Loder says Bruce Springsteen loves this song.

  • @jason8591 Apparently, Springsteen was even inspired by this song for his Nebraska album!

  • so fucking disturbing

  • Not knocking the tune, but for anyone who listens to this on a regular basis or even goes as far as calling it a masterpiece, I question your sanity.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 it is a masterpiece, music is about FEELING and this song has lots of it it makes you feel scared and sad and confused, if a song can do that to someone it is a beautiful masterpiece, a song doesn't have to be uplifting to be a masterpiece, jeez.

  • @deetswerdna This song is not scary. My friend and I had heard about the song and played it late at night, and were scared shitless... Until we actually heard the song. Biggest disappointment ever. The screams that were supposed to haunt me forever just sounded like Robert Plant ad-libs.

What I'm getting at is that if you think this song is a masterpiece, you're most likely not the most normal person in the world, and I think that I bring up a very strong argument.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 i understand what you are saying and what i meant was that it may be messed up and weird but the thrill is fun it may not creep you out but it creeps alot of people out and that's the beauty of it, masterpiece is a strong word but it is a unique gloomy realistic song, this shit happens and its spooky to think that this song could be what a killer hears in there head, we all have different opinions and i respect yours, but you cant tell everyone they are weird for liking it.

  • @deetswerdna Well, I'm glad you see my point. The song is neat, the type of song you throw on a mix to screw with people.

I guess we're on the same page now.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 yeah totally

  • @TinyMontgomery204 I take that as a compliment.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 I can't imagine how anyone could listen to this on a regular basis. If I did, I would surely go insane....

  • It scared the SHIT OUT OF ME.

  • @Einvestigator96 Me too! Scary Shit!

  • ....fucking stupid

  • this song is better than a lot of "complex" progressive songs, there's people that cannot understand that "complexity" is not always equal to "music quality", there's a lot of things that this song have that goes beyond it's simply sound. you have to think in artistic value, in "meaning" and not always in "form". there's a lot of progressive masterpieces (king crimson, van der graff, yes) but a lot of progressive songs are overrated only for being "complex" (genesis, jethro tull, ELP, etc..)

  • @progreadicto

Im not saying complexity=quality, im saying this song has nothing but creepyness value, anyone that says it's anything more is either delusional or just trying to seem smart and philosphical, I challenge anyone to give me a meaning behind this song besides that it's about a man's struggle with poverty to the point where he resorts to extreme measures. No one WANTS to listen to a song that has a repetitive beat for 5 straight minutes with some screams even if it did have a meaning

  • @777Lloyd777 if you only listen "the sound" it's obviously a simple song, a repetitive beat for the first 5 minutes and then a lot of indrustrial noises and atmosphere. the same that "4:33" a composition by john cage (avantgarde composer) is 4:33 minutes of pure silence, but there's an artistic value behind this. you don't have to look "the form" you have to think more in what the artist want to tell us, like the conceptual art. there's a lot of songs more "dense" without significantartist value

  • @progreadicto

So we shouldn't judge a song by it's musical quality? Ok, I could record myself taking a shit and scream into the mic and tell people there's meaning behind it? Im a brilliant musical artist now? I hate this 4:33 shit just as I hate modern art, it's worse infact, A famous person puts a dot on a canvas and people say he's a genius...He 's a genius to them only because he's famous, not because of the quality. 4:33, is an idea, not a song. And like I said, this song has no value...

  • @777Lloyd777 remeber that music is art, and art is based on ideas, feelings, etc that people want to tell us with sounds, beethoven was a genius not for writing colossal melodies but using that colossal music to recreate his thoughts and feelings. the misunderstanding of music as an art and not as a instrumental demostration take us to horrendous mistakes like this to say that beatles is the best band ever. if suicide want to use this noises to representate the moral decadency, well for them.

  • @progreadicto

If I don't like the quality of the sound im not going to listen to it, with your logic there shouldnt be album reviews, we should all judge music by how we feel about it. Which is subjective, I don't like this song because it's bland and repetitive, that doesn't mean I have no appreciation for the message, which is a minimal one at best. Just because a song is different doesn't mean it has a deep meaning, quality matters man.

  • @777Lloyd777 quality does not depend on what you prefer or no, if you LIKE a group or a song, fine. but this don't gives you rights to say that this song is GOOD. music critics should be about music, about what artist want to tell us, the "musical" quality is one of the criteria, but not the unique. therees dozens of songs with "poor" musical structure that are masterpieces, the sound has a "meaning" and we should have to be capable of undestand that meaning if we say that like music.

  • @777Lloyd777 My little pony is boring and repetitive.

  • @workatthefarm

Lol, I made that comment months ago and youre commenting on it now,That really calls into question your social life if you have nothing to do but search through comments to find something to whine about.

  • @777Lloyd777 Wow! One click on page 7 on the comments is not a waste of time, you imbecilic moron. How would my social life be possibly associated with clicking on number 7 on the comments? Perhaps you suffer oh so greatly from an overwhelming amount of avalanching emotions and depression, and so you bring it up to try and battle a person like me, who wishes to contribute to your demise.

I would certainly dismember you, but only after I have gouged out your eyes.

  • @workatthefarm

ooo tough guy, Im so scared! "Imbecilic moron"? How redundant, but honestly, page 7? Thats awfully random, and considering its months old what made you think id reply?

  • Comment removed

  • @workatthefarm Im also digging the theatrics, demise? Wow man, youre acting like a pocky sucking weeaboo. Battling? This is the internet fucko, not a dojo.

  • @777Lloyd777 I see Lloyd the spastic degenerate has resorted to highlighting certain words like the incompetent, dysfunctional and emotional little wreck he is. Tell me, aren't you the closest thing to a weeaboo and a brony for enjoying "my little pony"? I am not into Japanese animations and I have not a single need.

  • @workatthefarm

I like how you know me inside and out from a few comments I made a while ago, You have a severe case of unwarranted self importance if you honestly believe yourself.

  • @777Lloyd777 Do you suggest there is a flaw in my cunning? No, I don't think so. I know very well that you are an emotional little boy who likes to slander that which is different to you.

  • @workatthefarm

Lol, yeah, its animated so that means its related to Japan, flawless logic.

  • @777Lloyd777 I never said my little pony was Japanese. Once again a baseless assumption by the degenerate mongoloid "Lloyd". I said that you are the closest to a weeaboo out of us two, as I have no interest whatsoever in animated shit like pony whores or over rated anime.

  • @workatthefarm

But enjoying something animated means im more weeaboo than you? That's like saying I approve of criminals more than you because I got a speeding ticket.

  • @777Lloyd777 Well, what is better than ad hominem, then? Arguing like a little girl, using idiotic over-rated memes or just succumbing to the norm?

  • @workatthefarm

Who's doing that? How am I using memes or succumbing to the norm?

  • @777Lloyd777 You're just enjoying it because it has a large audience. The more people with you on something, the safer you feel. As you are just one out of the sheep.

  • @workatthefarm

Another baseless argument, I could say the same thing about anything you like as well. Youre such a non-conformist man, Way to be an individual, Im sure you just listen to indie music because youre such a non-conformist. I bet you dress like a scene kid too.

  • @777Lloyd777 You wish? Why don't you go slagging off anything I enjoy, go on. I do not care the slightest, you know. And no, I do not listen to indie music and neither do I dress like a scene kid. You must dress like a scene kid, especially since you enjoy my little pony. I am sure scene kids listen to the average mainstream turd music like you do, and not indie music.

  • @workatthefarm

Lol, Then what do you listen to?

  • @777Lloyd777

But seriously, you must have a major boner for this song, enough to argue and complain for 2 straight days, and yoy hide behind the fact that you cant make a decent argument behind childish insults. Im thinking your mother forgot to tell you that people have different opinions than you. So unless you have something intelligent to say Im done.

  • @777Lloyd777 I am eating toast.

  • @777Lloyd777 I approve criminals more than you, for sure. Because I am generally anti-social and has gotten away with a few atrocities.

  • @workatthefarm

Woah, youre so hardcore, I bet you kill people too because you surely have the big brass balls to do it. Lol, youre a joke man, Youre acting like a child and putting on the pseudo-tough guy mask to hide your own insecurities and just lash out at the slightest hint of dissent. youre the real pathetic one.

  • @777Lloyd777 My little pony has gained meme fame over the Internet, and you're continually liking, watching and commenting on videos that include these inbred children's ponies. And a lot of other people do it too, because it's seemingly trendy. So, yes, you are succumbing to the norm, and you are looking at, and using over-rated memes.

  • @workatthefarm

So because it's "trendy" that means that I only like it because everyone else does? Care to prove that?

  • @777Lloyd777 No, how is the approving of criminals "tough-guy", I thought the tough guys were supposed to defend women, fight loners with their pack, smoking, drinking alcohol and partying like the "tough" little gits they are? I think you fit the tough guy more than me, lad. As approving criminals has nothing to do with being a tough guy.

  • @workatthefarm

I was referring to your anti-social behavior and "atrocities", youre trying to hard bro.

  • @777Lloyd777 Quit lingering, reply to me when I'm active instead of scurrying away for a few hours and then returning like the little inferior twat you are. Reply to me now and here, when I am active instead of watching your pony videos, tossing off to cheap Internet porn with your small penis and listening to emo music.

  • @workatthefarm

lol, ok, Ill just sit here on youtube waiting for you to reply, unlike you I have other shit to do that doesnt involve arguing with a cunt that cant make an argument without childish insults and logical fallacies.

  • @777Lloyd777 Lol Scarface soundtrack, Tim & Eric and the X-Files them, you're really the tough guy aren't you? Lol, Scarface and X-Files, you're certainly tough and you certainly have a taste in music, don't you? Why don't you moan some more about ad hominem? You insecure little wankstain.

  • @777Lloyd777 Weeaboos enjoy animations. You enjoy animations, I do not. Hence are you more of a weeaboo than me.

  • @workatthefarm

So, im one iota more weeaboo than you because I like american cartoons? Ok, you win, im such a weeaboo, im going to go suck some pocky and fap to hentai. Lol, Is this all you do, just start shit online?

  • @workatthefarm

How does highlighting words that prove my point of you being a dramatic pissant mean im spastic? Now youre just pulling things out of your ass.

  • @777Lloyd777 I don't consider my acts dramatic. I consider them very solid and simple. No logic.

  • @workatthefarm

So talking about someones demise like youre the evil villain in a movie isnt dramatic? lol

  • @777Lloyd777 Funny that you brought it up. I never thought about movies or villains as I have no interest in them.

  • @777Lloyd777 Because you're not doing anything when highlighting. You're just using it as a last resort like the little boy you are.

  • @777Lloyd777 I'm not into Japan, but dojos are for training, not battling.

  • @workatthefarm

Now youre just nitpicking, It's an argument if anything, not a battle.

  • @777Lloyd777 I didn't address this argument as a battle. Battling is not always physical, at least not now, as this is primarily online. You would have known that, if you weren't so utterly emotional and mentally retarded.

  • @workatthefarm

"so you bring it up to try and battle with me" Yes, you did, Now youre trying to hard, do you really have nothing to do besides shooting ad hominem attacks at people?

  • @workatthefarm

Youre clearly just trolling for attention, and you call me the unstable one, And youre 38, if youre not lying on your channel, which is even more sad.

  • @777Lloyd777 You have to admit that most of what I say is true instead of shunning it and continuing to live a denial.

  • @workatthefarm

Oh, I thought I was the one making the baseless arguments. I dont like this song, so that makes me a mongoloid? Again, Brilliant logic.

  • @777Lloyd777 Wow, it honestly took you 2 hours to reply? Seeing as you are completely rendered useless as soon as I am active.

  • @workatthefarm

Perhaps because I have a job?

  • get over it...kill your boss instead loser.

  • Well... I wasn't really planning on sleeping tonight anyway...

  • lol

  • On my way home from work after a bad day at the office...

  • Great. Great. Great.

  • Is it weird that this song makes me giggle?! XD

  • oh frankie frankie.........!!BLOOOOWWWW

  • Back in the late 70s a curious friend played this to me, three times in a row, as I was coming up on acid. He said he wanted to study my face. Happy days …

  • @enilesnirkette And what were the results?

  • @enilesnirkette That's context. I love stumbling across shards of light like that.

  • This is like an acid trip for my eardrums.

  • Chris Benoit brought me here

  • Suicide is such a powerful band and this is their milestone

  • Shit is intense, yo.

  • Anyone else agree with me that this song is fucking underrated? Actually, scratch that! I think that this whole band is fucking underrated... Especially because some self-centered assholes can't use their brain when listening to music... The same deal with progressive music..

  • @Brollyhero93TOP10 exactly!!! though progressive music can be good too, it can also be pretentious and cliched. just because a song is in a minimal form, it doesn't mean it can't be complex or powerful. this song is no exception. this is raw feeling at its core!!!

  • @serpico89

I meant that progressive music is also underrated, because some people can't stop and listen to music, you know... focus on music....

  • @Brollyhero93TOP10

Sorry buddy, but a scream every 3 minutes and the same beat repeating for literally 5 minutes straight is boring as shit. You're making this into some kind of deep song which it's not, it's very black and white, the only thing it's good for is creepy value...

  • @777Lloyd777

I guess you can't use your brain for anything else than cool beats...

  • @Brollyhero93TOP10

Actually the beat here is boring and repetitive, if you think this has any deeper meaning than some guy Killing his wife and kids then you're a delusional pseudo-intellectual, But please, show us how super special your brain is friend, im sure you've already deduced the philosphical meaning of such a deep song, what with it's 7 lines of lyrics that pertain to the story!

  • @777Lloyd777

Actually, I don't really care, so let's leave it at that. I am too tired to deal with people like you.

  • @Brollyhero93TOP10

So you can't tell anyone the extremely deep meaning of this song? Hm, and here I thought you had everything figured out because youre so smart. You don't know shit, you're just hiding behind a veil of pseudo-intelligence, you're making shit up that isnt there solely to seem smart, and then you quit when someone offers a differing opinion. If you didn't care you wouldnt have bothered to argue in the first place.

  • @777Lloyd777 hey lloyd lick my butthole.

  • @methaddict99

Wow, what a clever retort, did it take you all day to come up with that? You're just mad because I disagree with your opinion, newsflash! Not everyone agrees with you! Grow up...

  • @777Lloyd777 Who's YOUR fave pop group Boy Lloyd? Just innarestud isall. Personally i dig the emotional intensity of this song - and that is all music is about for anyone - unless you're simply into flippant intellectua appraisal - which ain't "enjoying" music at all.

  • @rodneyhatch56

Pop group? I listen to Pink Floyd, Rush, the Stokes, The Protomen. To me this song is boring, sure it's emotional but that is overshadowed by the repetitive beat. I have to actually like the music before I care about the lyrics.

Im not trying to judge anyone, it's just kinda silly to say-BrollyHero: "people need to you their brain when they listen to music" as if to assume this song is the holy grail of deep morals and philosophy and anyone that doesnt like it is weak minded.

  • @777Lloyd777 if you listen pink floyd there's a good example of what i say: the piper at the gates and a saucerful of secrets both are masterpieces: original, revolutionary, dense, etc, unfortunately albums like "dar side of the moon" ,"animals" and "the wall" are overrated, overproduced and few original extravaganzas.

  • @progreadicto I have every right to say a song is not good, because it's my opinion, Im not saying it's fact at all, and who's to say what the meaning is? That's just as subjective as the music quality, if someone screams into a mic for 4 minutes and sells it i guarantee people will say it sucks and they have every right to say so. And what are you basing this off of? I personally thought all 3 of those albums were amazing, but its your opinion, see? If you can have an opinion then I can too.

  • @777Lloyd777 Sorry for reviving this... But. 7 lines and some screaming isn't necessarily the message. There are songs with no lyrics that move more than songs with them. And "sounds good then it is" is as valid an argument as "Looks cool then it is". The song relies on all the sounds and voices to convey the madness and Frankie's upturning. It's not a song to listen while doing something else. The beat is repetitive because the drone is supposed to dent into Frankie's (and your) mind.

  • @TheSlugkid

It's not fun to listen to, I dont care how people want to say how deep it is...It's just not a good song to me. The repetitiveness is boring, plain and simple. If someone else did the same and you didnt think it had a message you would hate it as well..

  • @777Lloyd777 Fun isn't all there is to music, or to anything, really. I don't find it fun, I find it entertaining in many ways. If I didn't think it had a message I wouldn't hate it, I just wouldn't like it... And, it's not a message per se, it's a story, very nicely told. Like watching a movie. It doesn't have to have a message. As long as it's well done and it entertains, it's good...

  • @TheSlugkid

Well to me it is not entertaining, and what pissed me off initially was that some people thought they were more deep and intelligent just because they like this song.

  • @777Lloyd777 I can see how that would upset you. For the record, we both won the argument. Good job.

  • @Brollyhero93TOP10 wuuuut?

  • @Brollyhero93TOP10

And what I meant about progressive music is that it's underrated too. People really have to think and use their imagination, when listening to music. Music like this has a story, some idiots just hate the music itself. I think that this song is a masterpiece...

  • Reminds me of the End by the Doors...

  • @giftedcherub Another completely maddening song, if listened right.

  • This is magnificently dark.

  • We're ALL Frankies...

  • This is like a techno version of Bob Dylan's "Ballad of Hollis Brown" or like a techno spoof of a Bruce Springsteen song. Paint peeling good!

  • this song isn't creepy like my friend said i was

  • i thought after all the stuff ive listened to im hard boiled.wrong.

tried to fall asleep while listening to suicides first.almost asleep when this song playing.and the fuckers totaly hit me! i was friggin mad at them!

  • Comment removed

  • Can anyone help? I've been trying to source a version of this I heard years ago on the John Peel show. I think it may be Suicide (not sure, but if not the vocal style is very similar)

It's almost dancy vaguely technoish. It's wrecking me head now - if anyone has an idead it'd be real appreciated.

    Thanks!

    And thanks for posting!

  • @ALIYASEXYGIRLNUMBER1 Kraftwerk?

  • @br00talKidHxC Thank you friend but it aint kraftwerk, cheers anyway!

  • what the fuck is this? xD

  • i don't know if this is music or not, but whatever the fuck it truly is, it's brilliant. it's art for sure. it's a 'practical' song if you think about it. everything in it contributes to the overall content. it's not at all form for the sake of form. surreal sounds to tell a surreal story

  • Someone told me that Tyler the Creator was scary.

    I responded with this song.

  • To me this is not really music. It is a strong story with great sound effects.

  • @adiostraitorobama I am going to make them play this at mine. I was thinking that in the shower yesterday, and I can totally make it happen.

  • An early song w/ an uplifting message of family values.

  • @adiostraitorobama Really? xD .... Kind of a creepy selection to play at a prom--but hell yeah! Hah! ;) And I agree this is a really difficult song to dance to... I guess people would just have to make up their own dance; that or make up some kind of play. lol! =P

  • vampire cole: you're an asshole man (or children maybe?). saying that the beatles is the peak of musical art is reducing rock music to a banal form of music. suicide is one of the best groups ever, frankie teardrop is a masterpiece, it is ART, harmony and melody are ver very old concepts. music now is atonal (schoenberg) , harsh, noise (velvet underground), and etc.. i hope you learn more of rock music.

  • @progreadicto I think there's room for both atonal and melodic music in today's world. I may end up regretting saying this, but the artists you named are also quite old at this point. Hardly "now", I'd say. Know what I think is great, though? When an artist uses noise to create an otherworldly beauty. Like with My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless" or Sonic Youth's "A Thousand Leaves". Lou Reed even stumbles upon it at times in "Metal Machine Music".

  • @Zerojimm you're right man, but i don't guess that velvet underground or suicide are "old groups" the quality of music today is good, but not so good like before, now in 2011 there's no albums better than velvet's first masterpiece, the best rock albums ever were crea
