What most of you won't realise is this is actually a very clever sketch. Corden is exaggerating the fact that David Brent (Ricky Gervais) would look at the camera during sketches in the office, Corden does this so well, he isn't trying to do an exact impression, he is mocking Ricky's character and how he acts.

Horne and Corden was a dark, dark moment for the BBC. It's a shame, because Corden appears to be both a talented writer (Gavin & Stacey) and actor (History Boys etc). Corden, however, seemingly brings little to the table. As to those who claim this is a "fantastic impression" - it is not. Had it been an accurate impression of Gervais as David Brent I may have chuckled. Unfortunately, nobody did.

It's weird, I'm a massive fan of Gervais and pretty much everything he's been in/written etc. but these sketches don't annoy me at all, in fact I remember when this was on T.V they were probably my favourite sketches (the show was pretty weak overall but had some good recurring ideas I thought). I think the big mistake was titling these videos 'Ricky Gervais' when it's more of a David Brent impression, and a pretty good one at that, why do lots of people presume it's supposed to be an insult..?
