What if they meant God with the lyrics? What bothers you?
They're adults. It means they can decide their own beliefs.
Religions and God, you dont HAVE TO believe in God nor religions.
So who do you think u are while talking about their beliefs? We're living in 2000's man, it's not dark age or something. You have to respect the other people.
This is a good translation; people should go and look up the official video clip if they wan't to know what it is about ~ it's about their stance against imperialist views.. He says "Are you here? No you are NOT! ~ Var misin Yok-sun! People confuse this with lovers and with god, it's actually logical that he can be referring to that as well, but the way I see it - the real~ most direct reference is to leaders of the world, are they here for us, hell no they aint.
They are not talking about God at all. Mor ve otesi is a very political band and they are obviously are referring to various leaders around the world:
the whole world watches and waits - America bombs Middle east, while the world does nothing.
take your "oil" take everything.
The Cambaz is acrobat but in turkish that can also refer to a cheater or someone two faced (ie. someone like president Bush. hes all kind to ur world and appears like hes trying to help but look what he is/was doing)
@krozkore LOL he's clearly mocking on God. Otherwise he wouldn't say ''I'm sure as my two eyes, that you don't exist'' ''do you exist? you don't'' oh c'mon, don't you see? lol. Plus, he has a philosophy degree... it's pretty common on philosophers not to belive in God.
@krozkore If he's talking about leaders... how come he says ''you don't exist''? Of course, he is talking about the fucked up world, press, wars, etc but he is refering to God too. No problem for me, but let's say the things clearly.
But I'm not giving up my hope to see them either, because there are many turks in Sweden and also Harun mentioned in an interview that they shall go on a tour and go to Sweden, woohoo! ;D
Though I don't understand why you think religion isn't a cool topic for a song. I think it's good that Harun writes about real, important stuff, for example religion, cause for many people religion really is a prison. Don't judge Harun cause he writes about what he feels and thinks, I'm sure he respect you even though you believe in a God or whatever. :P
If you live your life thinking like that ("I can't do this and I can't do that because an almighty guy in heaven who maybe exists doesn't like if I'm doing stuff he maybe doesn't want me to do") then you can't have a free life. And we are all worth to have a free life.
In my opinion, this song is very good! It doesn't have rubbish lyrics like so many other songs. Although all MvÖ songs have good lyrics, but I like this one especially. Thanks for this video and thanks Mor ve Ötesi!
i dont know what harun will say but i know what im going to tell u: i hope u are smart enough to realise that if im from romania this means i dont speak turkish...right? this translation was made by a turk not by me . i just put the translation over the pictures so that other mvo fan who doesnt speak turkish (like me 4 example) will understand a little bit what the song is about. ...so give it a break

LOL genie...you should have translated that to something else O.o
Setsuuchan 3 years ago
genie has diffrent meaning in islamic cultures.
its believed genies 'punishes' the men whenever they are disturbed.
kespec 3 years ago
i mean a genie is not a spirit which appears and disappears by magic and obeys the person who controls it. like the one alaadin lol!
muslims still afraid of their supernatural powers. before peeing to a wall in darknass you should pray for to not distrupta genie.
'YOU DID PEE ON MY FACE! NOW FACE WITH MY WRATH'
'DWHAHAgrdkgtdr'
i am not kidding-,-
