  • fuckin ell', whts with all the fuckin paragraph lectures? haa

  • Why do they always block part 1?

  • Let's go to school...

  • This episode is such a good one

  • i like Martha better than Rose

    *let the hating begin*

  • @tooobsessedformusic I like martha better than rose too, dont worry (:

  • @tooobsessedformusic I love and adore Martha. I love Rose, but Martha is so very underrated. So I'm with you. Martha is so fantastic. I adore that woman. She's amazing. All the people who hate her just don't get her story so that's their loss...

  • As for you mother of mine...(turns to camera)... Lets go to school

  • " God you're rubbish as a human!" One of the many reasons why you gotta love Martha! :)

  • She had the upperhand... why didn't she shoot?! =/

  • @JustMelodie because she didnt want to commit murder, even though they are bad, they are still a part of a huge species like modern day animals but...different

  • @Gastloony Oh... and because she didn't want to rend the fabric of time, too, right? Should've known that, lol Thanks =]

  • @JustMelodie well..you could say that, yes. anyway ur welcome

  • @JustMelodie Do you know Martha at all? :) Martha isn't going to kill anyone. Especially someone she doesn't have to. She's a good girl.

  • That house is in about every bigger movie coming from britain - talking Harry Potter, "The Haunting" and so on.

At some point, it gets stupid.

  • I love whatever actress is playing the Mother in this. She's brilliant.

And I third Martha and shelver93 - the Doctor IS complete rubbish as a human :P

  • 'God, you're rubbish as a human!' awesome!

  • Before 0:09, Joan says "Mr Jackson". Perhaps that person was 1 of Maria Jackson from the Sarah Jane Adventures' ancestors. Great grandfather perhaps?

  • That kid with the smirk reminds me of Hannibal Rising...creepy

  • Who is going to say Martha is rubbish now? :P

  • She's very, very smart. Common sense-wise and academically. She's one of the smarter characters in all of Doctor Who.

On the other hand, I honestly believe she wasn't the best companion for the Doctor at the time. He'd just lost Rose, and Martha fell in love with him while he was still basically in mourning.

On the other OTHER hand, she saved his life. Like, a lot. :P

  • @bananas1and2 u mean the handy spare hand?

  • @bananas1and2 Martha was EXACTLY the companion he needed at the time. I used to think she wasn't good for him at the time either because Donna was actually the best person for him... and Rose season 1 and Martha was nothing like that. At the end of this season we find out( or only the people smart enough to understand the story find out) that Martha was the companion the Doctor needed all along. She makes him a better person and he has to live with the regret that he took this

  • @bananas1and2 remarkable woman who saved his life mutiple times for granted. It's a bittersweet ending in which Martha gets everything she needs thanks to her own strength and awesomenesss and the Doctor gets what he needs, but not what he wants. He doesn't get Rose back and he accepts that he won't and he also accepts that he also doesn't get to keep Martha like he wants to when he just finally realized how great of a person she is because of his own

  • @bananas1and2 selfishness and he learns from his mistakes in the end.

  • @redfoxonstilts I never understood why people said Martha was rubbish in the first place. She was an amazing companion from the start and she just got better and better. She was always useful and always a good girl. She never complained and never whined and always did as she asked. She was never a bad companion for a second. She did everything that was expected of he. I adore Martha. She's my girl.

  • @Meangrl19 Martha was real competition to the Doctor and Rose romance (which didn't seem like all that at the time), that's why some people had it out for Martha.

  • @Lucille7777 I know Martha was real competition, but why do people still hate her after they saw all the episodes? Martha's story is that she realized she wasn't in love with the Doctor when she managed what her feelings were for him. She got past the suffering he put her through and she went back to her famiy and chose what she needed(her family) over what she wanted(the Doctor). I don't understand why people still hate Martha like some pathetic squabble for the Doctor's love is

  • @Lucille7777 going on between her and Rose. Martha has moved on from him a long time ago and he deserve to have her attention anyway.

  • no, because he knows john smith is an alien and so are they, so hes not going to be all warm.

  • For some reason, The Doctor always manages to choose the right companion. The companion will always come and save the day.

    A perfect Holiday treat.

    31 Dec 2009.

  • @albierte Yes unfortunately that's the problem, the 10th Doctor is such a user, much more than the 9th Doctor, and in the last 3 episodes of series 3, the Doctor is even more despicable to Martha.

I say Martha should have allowed him to return her back to her own time and then kill him, and if he came after her after his regeneration, Martha should kill him again. Maybe then he would give some serious thought about what he did to her and finally leave her be.

  • @Lucille7777 Martha wouldn't kill the Doctor. She's a good girl. After all, he learned his lesson after he lost her. Feel bad for him. I know he was an ass to Martha and he deerved to lose her but just thik after she left he's the only one who really lost something. She got aware from a guy who treateed her terrribly and was a total ass to her. He had to lose the most wonderful woman he's ever met and he never even took the time to really know her. He had the chance to get to know this

  • @Lucille7777 remarkable woman and he took it for granted. Now he's all alone in his TARDIS while she's out having the perfect life. The Doctor is the one we should feel sorry for. He's the only one who actually lost something worthwhile. She just lost him... which was a blessing for her I'm sure. If he didn't treat Martha like that, she would have never made him a better person and he would have never learned from his mistakes. Martha was the Doctor's Doctor and she cured him

  • @Lucille7777 and she wouldn't have been able to do that had he been good to her. She made him a better person and in the end she overcame all that he made her suffer anyway and she became a stronger and better person because of it. Martha got the happy ending she always needed. The Doctor is still an ass, but he got what he deserved in the end: he lost her. Too little too late. He's the one I feel sorry for.

  • @Meangrl19 Uh, I wouldn't feel sorry for him, the Doctor reaped what he sowed regarding Martha. I felt that RTD was too harsh regarding how the Doctor treated Martha, but I was strangely satisfied when she left the Doctor and told him why, Martha said, regarding her friend Vicki: "and I aways told her to get out!" "So this is me getting out." The Doctor had that coming.

  • @Lucille7777 I feel sorry for him a little. I mean it's his fault so I shouldn't feel sorry for him, but he lost Martha. I feel bad for anyone who didn't realize what an amazing woman Martha was until it was too late...even the Rose fans. :) I thought RTD was alittle harsh regarding how the Doctor treated Martha too, but that just makes her victory greater. Martha was able to overcome all that suffering the Doctor put her through because of her own strength. The more suffering

  • @Lucille7777 she overcame just made her more of a hero. I always felt bad for the Doctor at that part. I was proud of Martha and felt like standing up and applauding her, but I cried when Martha left. I'm sure the Doctor had to endure much worse. Atleast we got to know Martha and understand what a remarkalbe woman she was; he didn't even get to know her. He took all that for granted and she taught him a very valuable lesson that day that made him become a

  • @Lucille7777 better person. He lost alot the day he lost Martha. To make it worse it was his own fault. I should be laughing in his face because it's his own fault he lost Martha, but I can't help that I'm a sympathetic creature and I feel bad that he lost her.

  • Which episode is it where Martha sees the little boy again? I remember that scene, but I don't know the name! :S

  • huh? what boy? latimer?

  • It's the previous episode you are talking about, she doesn't see him, it's the boy who sees that she is actually from the future

  • thanks =]

  • The family freaks me out. The "son" is perfect. I mean in a completely creepy way, of course, but it's so awesome to see them acting like this. They do this part so well. :) I'm liking this episode... kind of. :)

  • "God your rubbish as a human come on!"

    i love that line

  • This is why I love Martha.

  • @MsWholigan It's one of the many reasons why I love Martha.

  • @MsWholigan Me too. And he's is rubbish as a human and she's a far better friend to him than he ever was to her.
