  • This is awesome! very cool.

  • what kind of liquid latex did you use?

  • very nice work...

  • Wow please make a step by step slow tutorial, thanks!

  • could you maybe make a slower video

    but its in awsome video

  • could you maybe make a slower video

  • That's good stuff!

  • These behind the scene clips of your, Nick are so incredibly informative and exciting to watch! Sealing the eye with latex--brilliant! Using a tripod as a rig--double brill!

  • Oh, I just noticed it blinks. HOW DID YOU MAKE IT BLINK???? I've been trying to figure this one out for a while.

  • @PowerOfMontage

The blink was done with replacement plasticine eyelids. A half-closed lid, fully closed lids, a half-closed lid again, then back to the bare eyeball.

The finished dragon appears in the Skeleton Swordfight video at my channel.

  • YES!!! Finally, videos and tutorials showing how to construct build up stop motion puppets (The Harryhausen/Willis O'Brien way)! It's nearly impossible to find information on this subject anywhere!

  • I can almost smell the liquid latex! The glimpse of the Sinbad cave scene is very tantalizing, really looking forward to seeing this project when it's complete!

  • FANTASTIC dragon!

  • That gives me some ideas. Thanks.

  • Nick, is there a chance you could upload slowed-down versions of your tutorial videos? It's a bit tricky having to time pausing and playing on here.

  • Amazing dragon!

  • That dragon looks very alive! extremely good! I cant wait to see it again!

  • question, how do you achieve a good "blink"? ive never been able to make it work, but it could be the materials im using?

  • looking good nick, as usual :-D

  • Woohoo this is awesome!

  • excellent, love it.

  • m_) No way, that was not ALL. That was BEYOND anything, actually.

  • OMG!!!! I am blown away man!!!...you are taking it to another level man....this is so freakin Cool! jriggity

  • Why thank you Mr Dods! Foamithrax is not up to the standard of your wonderfully sculpted skin textures, but it's good enough for the way its being used.

  • @StopmoNick A few questions....what was that material you used in the beginning (around :03)as a base for the head. Was that some sort of thin wood like luan, foam, gatorboard, or poster board? At about :11 were you using a thinner foam material to cut up and build up there? Is MDF a type of wood? What was the talcum powder for at :19? And did you paint the liquid latex on the body as well and THEN paint on it? Sorry for so many questions!! lol Im trying to get better at making puppets.

  • @LunatikTokyo MDF is a manufactured board made from fine wood dust and a binder (glue). It's good to work as it has no grain but it is very absorbant so a primer is needed if you want to paint it. It drills and machines well.

  • @FleaCircusDirector Ah ok thanks! :D
