  • @RawYogaFit

  • Brussel Sprouts are my fave! I make a coleslaw with shredded beets and carrots and an avacado dressing and I get compliments on it all the time! No one even realizes its the healthiest thing they have probably eaten in days :)

  • @TiffanyMailloux

    awesome!! !that sounds delicious!

  • Can't you do a review video of you trying the Durian?

  • @BestefarFissk hmmm

    what do you mean?

  • @daradubinet I mean the southeastasian fruit, which is truly the king of fruits. wiki@Durian

  • @BestefarFissk

i know what durian is. i love it!

  • what is your recipe for kale chips and how long do you bake what is the temp or do you use the dehydrator?

  • very clevertips, thx Dara

  • Dara, do you still put the greens in the fridge after you put them in green bag?

  • Thanks Dara. You really encourage and educate me so much. I want you to know how much I appreciate your efforts to make these videos, I really do. I am also encouraged by those seemingly little tips such as ways to exercise without joining a gym and what to pre-wash and what not to....seems little but are really important... P.S. I love your ring!!! Your jewelry is spectacular!!!

    Peace and love,

    Carolyn

  • Great video and tips! Do you recommend washing celery and carrots ahead of time as well? And what about fruits like berries (strawberry, blue and blackberries)? Just curious because I've read a couple different things about pre-washing certain fruits/veggies. As you know, there's so much conflicting info out there. Thanks...I love watching your videos =)

  • The lemon Juice massaged into kale makes is Joyous - hence your wording slip up “Juiyce” (Juice-Joyous) is actually correct. You may have a new word for a Raw Food Dictionary... :o)

  • I like you Dara.

  • Thank you for showing a way to cut the water melon so that you can pour the juice into a cup. You know, I eat the black seeds... they have the taste of walnuts to me .

  • @cheesestr4wz

good to hear about the seeds :)

  • Dara, thank you SO much for the help! I feel extraordinary on this lifestyle. I almost even cried watching the sunset tonight. With the breeze on my face! The trees were moving around like green ocean waves and my curtain was flowing, it looked like a giant white butterfly...Oh raw food how I love you...It really does make life more beautiful! :)

  • @monymony2626

how beautfiul to hear this. flowing curtains are a fave of mine. :)

  • Jada Rose! i love that name. my middle name and my daughters middle name is Rose! could you do a video on just the different kinds of kale and ways to use it?

  • @MyLifeinStyle

    a kale video. i love it. :)

  • Awesome! Was wondering about washing asap. I did that last week and my farmers mkt produce did not do well. So this week I put it all away unwashed and was going to do it as I juiced..but I can see maybe not such a great idea either haha. These veggies are so tempermental heheh. Thanks DARA!!

  • @brooklyn102101

    you are welcome! :)

  • OMgoodness. U read my mind, I was going to ask you about keeping dandelion, etc. fresh longer. My greens are going bad too fast. I will look for those bags! Love these farmer market videos. So nice & helpful. Thanks! Btw, love your hair. :)

  • @TUTRLEFLY828

thank you! farmers market vids are such a pleasure to do. thanks about the hair ;)

  • I need to find a trick to get rid of the fruit flies. They can get out of control! lol

  • @aRawLifestyle

me too! what is the trick?

  • @aRawLifestyle, good luck lol. You can kill them if you set out a little red wine or apple cider vinegar in a dish with a couple of drops of dish soap - they will get attracted to it and trapped in it.

  • thanks dara.

  • Dara, I have been 99% raw for 4 days now. The one thing I cannot give up is ranch dressing. I have a smoothie for breakfast, green juice for lunch and a large salad for dinner. Can you emulate something raw for ranch dressing?

  • @monymony2626

congrats. yes. let me think about the ranch...

i would do a hemp/oil dressing with Ranch flavors....

lets look up ranch flavors :)

  • @monymony2626 me too. I never grew up on olive oil, coming from an asian background. Therefore I am unable to stand the taste when i add it to my salad. And the only dressing i can use is ranch aswell :( makes me feel guilty hahah :)

  • @monymony2626, I'd recommend making your own using a plain organic yogurt (no other ingredients except the cultured milk) and spices. If you can get a premix ranch mix that would work, but the ones I have seen have bad ingredients like MSG. I'm not vegan though and, in fact, I don't believe vegan is the healthiest diet.

  • thank you very informative!!! just when i was wondering how to easily store all the greens beautiful Dara saves the day!!!

  • I lived off watermelon for a few weeks this summer. At first it was very cleansing and hydrating but over a long period of time I noticed the gums in my mouth were getting a little irritated. I've tried fruitarian in different forms and so far I am not a huge fan of the idea of long term fruitarian. I do love watermelon as a hydrating, alkalizing, detoxifying and transitional food - they are convenient, refreshing and satisfying. I get the seeded ones, a little hybrid as possible.

  • @thewaterfalloflove

wow. i have never done a couple of weeks. i am having green juice tonight. had a little guac.

i like fruit right now. summer! watermelon is convenient. great word for it! :)

  • @daradubinet, I'm totally a fan of seasonal eating. Eat what is fresh and ripe in your area. This winter I'll be eating a of meat ;) - I'll still be watching you vegans though and rooting you on though :)

  • @thewaterfalloflove, oh man my grammatical structure is torturous to read. I need to proofread my comments before I click "post."

  • @thewaterfalloflove

cheering for vegans is necessary in cold weather. not so much for Cali vegans! thanks though. last winter i did have cooked quinoa!

  • @thewaterfalloflove

    hybridization is good!!

"What is Hybridization? Are Hybrid Fruits Safe?

Hybridization is simply the mating of two breeds or cultivars within a single species, or between different species within the same genus. "

    -rawfoodhealthdotnet

why would you want to eat hybrid fruit as little 'as possible' ?

i would seek the rare heirloom family farm types rather than commercialized factory farm fruit

    :)

  • @MichaeLightify, hybrids are often bred to satisfy human desires - like to not have seeds, but the result isn't a more nutritious and healthier food. Wild herbs, fruits, etc. are almost always going to be a healthier alternative. Eat what you want, but I can taste and feel the difference between a traditional seeded, black diamond watermelon and a hybrid seedless. To each their own.

  • @thewaterfalloflove

"Even among inferior stocks, hybrids often are an improvement on their ancestors. Hybridization makes for species improvement because of the role of the dominant genes." -UB

  • @thewaterfalloflove

prove that seedless fruit is any less nutritious than seeded fruit... I dont think what you say is backed by any science, just subjective opinion

or that hybridized foods are less nutritious than non-hybridized foods (is there even such a thing? Is not ALL plants and animals hybridized?)

  • @MichaeLightify, actually I believe there are studies that claim hybrids are less nutrient dense but this is not something I care to debate. There are much bigger problems than eating hybrid or non-hybrid fruit. Eat what you want. I do rely on instincts because I don't believe that science is thorough enough to solve my answers. Calcium is good, drink milk (hmmm... well yes, we need calcium but our body can make calcium) Doesn't drinking milk create strong bones? Science is flawed.

  • @thewaterfalloflove science is a work in progress but the over-all trend is towards progress and clarification and knowledge (facts)

its effective against superstition, fear-mongering, and disinformation

science and intuition go hand in hand

  • @thewaterfalloflove

nice. thank you so much waterfalloflove!

  • yay green bags.......btw-i love your hair straightened.......

  • is it bad if u dont wash them?...even if they r organic?? xoxoxox

  • @305kaddillak

well...a ladybug was in my kitchen via the greens so... ;)

  • What kind of water filter would you recommend?

  • i love the way you give the smal details, one question when i wash the produce i fill the sink add a couple of tblspoons of veggie wash to the water and soak for about ten to fifteen minutes, than rinse and strain in a strainer till dry, then refrigerate, my question is should i actially be scrubbing with a brush or something, and thank for the towel idea , and the no washing herbs ahead of time i've ost alot of my herbs that way and didnt know why, thanks. dave.

  • @dth3545

    i don't use a brush!

herbs last minute if at all ;)

  • can you use soap to wash the fruit and veggies

  • @g19hoops83

ALL NATURAL YES. salt YES. ACIDIC WATER. YES. :)

  • First

  • @g19hoops83

    YOU ARE GOOD! :)
