I did this myself back in the seventies when I was in my teens.

It is something of a "Rite of passage" in Richmond. In Pamplona you run with the bulls, in Richmond you hurl yourself off the falls!

Fact: There are spots where is very shallow, especially at that waterlevel. There is a very shallow slab not far from where they are jumping.

I have dived off them falls. If you look at the water and dive into were it looks white its safe.

But u get dumb ass soldiers doing back flips and cracking skulls coz they dont no were to jump.

When I`was a teenager in Richmond in the 1970s people were jumping off the waterfall even then. I never did it myself, although there were plently of us who would walk across the top of the falls to reach the rocks in the middle to sunbathe.
