  • The bow is very quite, very fast, sights are awsome u should never shoot more then 40 yards. And does not need a bow press to change the draw lenghts. U also said uve only fired a couple bows so how would u know what loud is. Im sorry if this offends u but u dont know shit about bows

  • @123Mrhondaboy first of all I plainly stated that I am not an expert with bows. Secondly you do in fact need a bow press to change the modules to change draw length. Thirdly... although I have not fired a great deal of bows (being a lefty) I however do shoot in a winter indoor league and a summer league and get to see many other bows and can compare between them. my assessment is based on that experience and not just pulled out of thin air.

  • @123Mrhondaboy If you live in the west you shoot out to 80 yards! 7 pin sight; 20, 30 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 yards! I shot my deer at 58 yards this year and double lunged him! Shoot out to where you are comfortable!

  • I have owned the Marting Jaguar and now i am a proud owner of the Martin exile. For the price of these bows they are the best shooting and will hang with any top of the line bow mathews hoyt etc. Martin has always treated me well when i want something they are fast friendly and very reasonable. I will continue to buy these bows until i die or they go out of business. Great video too!!!

  • Thanks for the tip! I'll probably take it somewhere this week.

  • hey Bushcraft412 i bought this bow last week from dicks, got it home and it shot great but yesterday i dry fired it and felt like a moron but it didnt hurt the bow it just broke the trg string stop. I was wondering if i need it on there because i shot the bow after i broke it and it shot fine and it was actually even more quiet than it was before. Thanks

  • @whitetailhunter211 The TRG was badly designed and Martin will replace them if you complain. It's really not necessary at all. However, in regards to your dry fire. You should definitely bring that bow to an actual pro shop and have them look at it. Most will do so for free. There are alot of problems that can happen from a dry fire that can make your bow blow up in the future. Better safe than sorry. When a bow decompresses and can be very energetic and dangerous.

  • around 250 FPS vs the IBO 320. If you shot the bow with a drop-away rest, a G5 Meta peep(extremely light weight) and D loop, 70 # draw weight, 30 inch draw length, and a 350 grain arrow you would definitely reach that 315-320 mark. Just thought I'd shed a little insight! Glad you are enjoying the bow! Out of curiosity, have you had any problems with the TRG cable slide? I have heard a lot of people have had string damage.

  • @ooglesnorp I emailed martin about the rubber piece being ripped on the TRG. They ended up mailing me a completely new and redesigned TRG AND a new cable and string as they say it has been a problem. Talk about good service. My string isn't showing any wear yet so I replaced the TRG and got a freebie out of the deal. All I asked for was a new rubber piece to replace the ripped one and they sent me above and beyond what I asked.

  • @Bushcraft412 That's awesome. I've been told they have superb CS.

  • @ooglesnorp yeah. I emailed them on a Friday and had the parts in my mailbox by the following Thursday. 6 days start to finish is something to brag about.

  • Good review! One thing I would like to point out - This bow will reach IBO speeds.

IBO speeds are shot at 70#draw weight, 30 in draw length and with a 350 grain arrow. You lose 10 FPS per inch of draw length reduced(in your case 40) and then roughly 1FPS/ lb (in your case 10). If you are shooting heavier arrows it affects your speeds drastically. plus a Whisker biscuit will cost you about5-10 FPS and a standard Peep and D loop will cost you8-10 FPS

In summation - your bow is probably shooting

  • @ooglesnorp Thanks for the insight on this. I do shoot pretty lightweight Carbon arrows with 100gr tips just for that reason. Thanks for the excellent comment, and thanks for watching.

  • i will say its good to have your bow so you can shoot up to 50 but you shouldnt be shooting past 40 yards in the woods and thats kinda pushing it

  • @jlcurrier4 I saw a few deer in the 50 yard range and I didn't even think twice about shooting. 50 yards is a way to far away.

  • when bow companys test their bow speeds they usally use a very light arrow and tip way to light for hunting purposes

  • do u own any cross bows

  • @dexterlexter123 Not yet. Crossbows just became legal to hunt with in NY in 2011, but the legislation is only good for this season. If they continue allowing them to hunt I may pick one up next year. I did get to shoot a few a the range this year and they are a BLAST!

  • A silent killer.
