I think this game deserves a movie, onw that takes place during the game, and in the final battle Mateus(The Emperor) kicks Fiirions ass but still dies, it would be an epic movie

@EdizOnFire No in FF2 the maximum level of magic goes all the way to lv 16,theres even a mini game attached to a certain spell when its trained to lv 16

firion: 5,000's the 3rd and 4th strongest swords more white mage than physical spirit 80's diamond equipment ribbon maria: 3,000's 2 rippers black mage intelligence 60's equipment same as firion guy: 5,000's 2 rune axes mainly casts haste twist headband giants glove power vest strength 80's attack 120's leon: 3,000's murasame & excalibur casts aura genji equipment strength 60's attack 140's with these stats ez (make firion cast protect & blink maria osmose battle should be easy afterwards)

I faught the emperor in the cylone and now ready for the last level. But I don't see how to get in can anyone help. I made it to where I went to tle colisum there is a castle surrounded by mountains but I cant get in. H ow do I do this?

@coyote374 If its Palamecia your trying to enter, you need Cids airship. I think he's at the inn at Fynn (that rhymes!). When you talk to him, you get his airship and you get in to Palamecia by flying there.

I think it got something to do with the attribute system, when you get strenght after battle, it lowers your intelligence, it's a very crappy system.

I chalked it up to my characters having terrrrible spells, since I rarely used magic.

I ended up grinding like a madman for an extra 10 hours or something, teaching and maxing out new spells (like Haste, etc. (I seriously had NO good spells)), and when I next faced the Emperor, he was quivering in his boots >:D

I started out not liking this game that much, but ended up loving it

There aren't that many games where you can properly grind just by taping down the -A- button!

I fought this boss with a weapon and a shield. No armor. o.o I didn't even knew I won because I was watching TV. xD My Leon died and Firion, Maria, and Guy just spammed my lv3 flare and lv2 Ultima. Haha.

Did you fall and hit you head, or something? This is a remake of the original Final Fantasy II, which was released in Japan in '88. It didn't make it overseas until Dawn of Souls was released. The main reason we did not get this game in its original form, that is, on the NES, is games like these take a long time to translate, so this one and the original Final Fantasy III, released in 1990, never made it overseas. Final Fantasy IV became II, because it was the second game released in the US.

Wow, for that to be the Final Boss you sure took him out easy! What was that, 3 turns??? I'm guessing you were maxed out for all but 1 character who STILL was extremely strong! well he wasn't exactlly maxed out. his mp wasnt 999 and his magic wasnt lv.16. and its possible his weapons werent max level either. but good job man
