why dont the press ask whould you be quiting if you won the election?.

  • The liberals have built this state; a great deal of melbournes life has been built by liberal governments. for example the last liberal government in under 8yrs achieved great amounts. Imagine melbourne without some of their achievements eg.

-Commencement of Melbourne Docklands starting with building the docklands stadium

    -Fed Square

    -Southbank

    -Melbourne Aquarium

    -Citylink

    -new Melbourne exhibition building

    -new museum

-the good old city circle tram

only some of the great achievements

  • watch baillieu take the credit for the desal plant when it actually becomes a success which it will (just like myki will as well), the liberal party have never implemented anything that is of any substance, they just take the credit for other governments ideas and implementation.

  • @walkabout09 what incompetency are you refering to? the incompetency of the kennett government for selling off everything because it was their solution to fix the problems in the state at the time?, last time i checked once things are sold off to private companies there isnt anything an existing government can do to fix. So your blaming brumby for not being able to fix problems which wasnt under his control?, yeah good on ya. If u honestly think ted will do a good job ur kidding urself.

  • @raff23

Kennett sold off the state owned power companies for 30 BILLION!!!! That was an offer we had to take as it would never be available to us again. Just this wee NSW is looking at doing the same thing and they are only going to take in a mere 5 Billion just shows the great business skills and opportunites this state used to offer

  • @melbkid08 but here you are whinging about brumby's incompetence, you cant have it both ways mate.

  • @raff23

what the hell are you talking about?? is it werent for the reforms of the previous government victoria would still be the joke of the nation. those reforms by the way were to fix the problems the cain kirner government left

  • @melbkid08 what a load of shit,, but u know what it isnt worth argueing about it anymore as we both beg to differ.

  • @raff23

lol at least you have more sense that myvistahosting

    agree to disagree :)

  • @walkabout09

no comments myvistahosting?? How does it feel you have wasted your time defending the FORMER government?

  • @walkabout09

well said could not have put it better myself......VOTE walkabout09!! LOL

  • @walkabout09

i guess the unemployment rate of john brumbys electorate, broadmeadows is about to change; currently its around 15% so it will become 15%+1 person

  • CONTRATULATIONS TO ALL VICTORIANS THAT HAVE REMOVED THE AUTHORITY OF THE labor GOVERNMENT AND MOST LIKELY HAVE PUT IT INTO THE HAND OF A COMPITANT GOVERNMENT!!

  • @myvistahosting absolutely spot on, ted baillieu basically just told the public what they wanted to hear in typical liberal style. he has no intention of putting more police at the stations because that would cost money, nor is he going to build a prison to cater for the thousands of ppl that are going to be arrested and thrown in their unneccessarily because it will destroy the economy. Unfortunately some sections of victoria (outer eastern suburbs) have short memories of jeff kennetts reign.

  • @raff23

Yeah i know what your saying, Liberal has offered a total 14 billion dollars worth of uncosted policies, yet, they wanna place Police on every station and cut fees and taxes everywhere, i've undertaken a study and if Liberal were to implement there policies, the state budget would go down by 8 billion, and with all the policies they would need an extra 23 billion dollars, so, Liberal are going to get us in debt.

  • @myvistahosting and whats there excuse going to be? "oh john brumby mismanaged most of these areas so we have had to clean up after him" can just hear teddy boy saying that now. 2 million dollars on removing clearway signs? how is that important and beneficial for the majority of victorians? its gonna create more traffic. The small business owners complaining will actually be worse off because no one will want to travel down that street because of the traffic. Common sense isnt in ted's policies

  • @raff23

i see what your saying, Ted Builliue is dumb and knows nothing, during the election i noticed Labor was talking about the future of Victoria while Liberal were talking shit about Labor, it's all about the future of this state, but Ted doesn't care, he only wanted the job to get the money.

  • @raff23

Remember the 1996 State Election, Liberal said if re-elected they would employ an extra 2.000 Police yet when they won, they never employed any, instead they cut 800 Police Jobs (talk about about making our streets safer) oh and that's another thing, you can't just put everyone in jail, who's going to fund that, there are way too much tax cuts and to much being spent, and since Labor's been in, they've matched there policies to the state budget.

  • @myvistahosting spot on mate, as i said ppl have short memories, look at what is happening in the UK when that idiot david cameron i think his name is wants to increase university fees, all hell is breaking loose but i have no sympathy because they voted for that government in the 1st place, this is a typical liberal/conservative party policy, ppl dont understand how good they have it when its under labor's control.

  • @raff23

Don't worry, we will get Labor Elected at next election.

  • @raff23

Yeah, people do HAVE SHORT MEMORIES remember the good old days when a classic LABOR government left victoria with $2.2 billion budget deficit, a net public sector debt of $33 billion and budget sector debt of $16 billion; however the Labor Party in Victoria will always be known as the GUILTY PARTY!!

and dont get started with the UK, their problem was that the previous government did not save their surpluses when times were good and underestimated the power of the business cycle

  • @melbkid08 who gives a shit about a deficit? the idea is your trying to implement things which will benefit the state, you need to spend money to do this, heaven forbid we have short term pain for long term gain. the libs will spend money here and there on not anything worthwhile (case in point the clearway signs debate) than claim they have the economy in surplus after 4 or so years of procrastination, whoopee do what have you actually done?

  • @raff23

short term pain was kennett and lond term gain is what we got now mate.....

  • The point is that the liberals stand for values that are largely out of touch with the average Australian who wants good education and health systems and a sustainable environment, rather than promotion the values of the top end of town.

  • If this is the best dirt they have on Baillieu, he must be squeeky clean.

  • Are you serious? Why on Earth would we put the education system back in the hands of someone who no doubt made a very tidy sum from selling it off previously.

  • You mean someone who owned part of a company that owned part of another company which is one of the worlds largest real estate agents did as real estate agents do and sold property and that makes him unfit to be premier? That is rediculous. Do you even know why the Liberals sold state assets? It is because the previous Labor government sent the state bankrupt.

  • No, I mean Ted Ballieu, then Liberal Party President, allowed a company part owned by him to be the agent for the sale of the Victorian schools sold off by the then State Liberal government. Nepitism or telling conflict of interest? Either way, if the guy had half a brain and could see beyond the bottom line (prerequisite for being Premier in my opinion) he wouldn't have taken part in the sale and the ALP wouldn't have any basis for this ad campaign.

  • The board says 48, so hardly a disproportionate percentage given the size of the firm. But politics being politics, that might not be the point.

  • Ted's realestate company sold 'many' of the schools? I'd like to see labor saying how many. I bet it's not nearlly as many as they would like you to believe or why wouldn't they say so?

  • @pretender2j

Ted Baillieu also sold the Police Stations, and Hospitals. plus Liberal closed train lines!

  • What a disgraceful and unfair attack ads. Yet, you don't win elections by promising good stuff. You win them by bagging out your opponent. The libs would need to do far better attack ads to win.

  • @joshx1983

If you've noticed, only one out of every ad Labor have on TV is an attack ad, all the rest are what Labor are going to do, for the future of Victoria - for the times ahread.

Liberal however, every single add they have is an attack add, personally, i don't vote for parties like Liberal, all they do is blame other people and they have no policies.
