  • Thanks for playing and uploading! Be blessed~

Any chance you would play the Blaenwern tune by W.P.Rowlands some time as well? These are both my all time favorites! :)

  • You're welcome - please do a search using organpipe8 in your search, it is posted already, one of my favorites ! Thanks Lance

  • GREAT JOB !

  • Tune BEECHER was composed by John Zundel in 1870. It continues to dominate as the tune for "Love Divine" in the United States. BLAENWERN by W. P. Richards was composed in 1905 and has become more widespread in the United Kingdom. HYFRYDOL has emerged with "Love Divine" in both national traditions but is more likely in the U.K.

  • One of my favourite tunes. I remember singing this for a doxology hymn in a Tamil Church in India .. It has been over 13 years since I heard this tune .. Brings tears to my eyes

  • "God is Here as We His People" is sometimes sung to this tune. A great marriage of lyrics and music.

  • I'll take beecher over hyfrydol any day.

  • This is the funny thing... I look for a certain song, but Leave it up to the church to make a bunch of different ones with the same name, or so it seems haha. Can't find the one I'm looking for, but I like the ones I wasn't looking for just as much!

  • Nice playing, though I have to say I really prefer Hyfrydol for this hymn (it was the opening hymn at my wedding!).

  • Thanks, I have Two arrangements with Hyfrydol for your listening pleasure.

    Lance ♫

  • @palaeologos For a wedding, well, yes, as for thanksgiving, Hyfrydol. From "Bb", the Beecher descends to a "G" minor as though into the valley of sin, and then revives through "D" major; the Beecher is more active in a grave and dramatic way, . . .

  • Oh, I remember this tune from when I was young. We seem to always sing it to Blaenwern now these days.

  • this is the version of all the known versions used in the Church of England that I remember from my child hood. now at 70 years of age it still haunts me as I remember the words learnt at my mother's knee

  • This song truly warms my heart. I especially enjoy the Beecher tune. Thanks for sharing your gift.

  • You're welcome †

  • tough key on first verse: B for trumpet, C for the rest ... thanks for the accompaniment

  • this is a beautiful tune. i love this tune with the lyrics: There´s a wideness in God´s Mercy...

The lyrics "love divine all loves excelling" can be used with the tune Blaenwern.

I hope someday you could post this tune.

    blessings...

  • Thats ok, thank you for looking. One day you may come across it.

  • Lance, regarding that hymn tune 'Praise' I forgot to add it has 'Second Tune' next to it. Happy hunting. John

  • Sorry - can't find it in my hymnals - Blessings †

  • I am lifted up with each hymn you play Lance, God continue to bless you. I have long wanted to hear the hymn 'O Love Devine How Sweet Thou Art' Tune is Praise 886 886.by Charles Wesley. If that means anything. I would be thrilled if you can find this wonderfull tune. PS. your organ sounds better than many of the pipe organs I hear. Thanks again for your ministry.

  • How kind of you for your nice words and your welcome... Will have to look up the hymn. Blessings to you †

  • Thank you for posting. Its hard to find this arangment or to find God our father we adore thee

  • This tune is called Beecher, named after Henry Ward Beecher, pastor of Plymouth Church in Brooklyn N.Y. where the tunes author played organ in the 1800's.

  • Thanks again for posting this beautiful hymn. Ohters apparently agree with me as it has the highest number of viewings of any of your recent postings. Bill Taylor

  • Your welcome, I never check the viewings, but I just noticed the Pope Benedict posting (Holy God We Praise Thy Name) has over 700 in 2 days... Blessings to you †

  • This is one of my favorite hymn tunes. My church in Cromwell, Connecticut uses this tune with the hymn "God is Here as We His People..." Thanks, Lance

  • Your welcome †

  • Thanks for posting this tune. I used to go to the church in Brooklyn N.Y. where the tunes author John Zundel played organ many years ago.

  • Your welcome, thought it was already here with so many, I forget sometime. That is awesome about the Tune Author, Blessings †

  • Thanks †
