  • People say this is trash dont know what they taking about

  • all discharge is good, cmon its fuckin discharge

  • I love the part on 53 when he does that metal type shout. lol fucking bad ass that shit was clean.

  • dude this is tight and heavy. All bands go through a transition and all bands experiment and have other influences then playing punk all the time. Although this song originally was a punk song with original discharge it still sounds clean like this.

  • those are probably the worst vocals ever recorded on the planet Earth. i still like the studio version though.

  • was alvis costello in discharge or anti pasti??

  • Dunno what all the hate is about, this isn't bad at all. Sure it's slower but give me this over some of the cardboard '77 punk any day.

  • hurr durr I like the Metallica version better.

  • @koryakapelinal333 Shitallica Suck You Bitch !

  • @punk4561 Oh wow. A completely retarded comment reply. I didn't see that coming. I was being sarcastic you fuckwit. Jump off of a fucking bridge.

  • @koryakapelinal333 YEAH DISCHARGE ROCKS AND METALLICA SUCKS ASS DUDE !

  • @punk4561 I actually like both versions about the same.

  • @koryakapelinal333 As A Guy Who Likes More Punk Rock than Metal, i prefer discharge's Version.

  • @infernalphast9 Or the way tampere SS did :s

  • this version is very good than orig, old version i like it too.

  • what year is this?

  • WHY WHY WHY BUT WHY?! They were so fucking awesome I prefer they stopped playing than go like this!

  • loved the EP. but thought it was broken bones, w/ a drum machine.

  • Great song!!!! I love Discharge.

  • I like this version! Cal’s vocals are just as they were from “Warning” & on, more or less. The rhythm section is tight, but it’s Andy Green that fucks it all up, he’s no more than a serviceable guitar player at best. Cal & Garry should have recruited some top notch musicians for this incarnation of Discharge. Peter “Pooch” Pyrtil or Steven “Fish” Brooks would have been far better choices than this lout. I think the band has a good command of the stage & put on a decent show. Rock Hard!!??

  • I like the Grave New World LP but I wish it wasn't Discharge. Shoulda changed the name. Same with COC and alot of other great punk bands in the late 80's. Really rather the WHY! ep and older 7"s....

  • ugh. humiliating.

  • I actualy like this show the songs are played pretty similarly to the original recording however im not a fan of cals singing or lack of dekt

  • exelente tema

  • this is like the heavy metal version of the song, still love it!

being honest, i like Cal more as the vocals :)

    one love Discharge \m/

  • nah, the More I See is definitely a legit song. nothing wrong with their crossover phase. they didn't lose it until a couple year later

  • It's so funny though... they grew their hair out, Calvin started doing the metal high screaming thing, incorporated more douchy solos... it's just silly.

  • C'mon guys. This is good song. It's not old Discharge but the song is good.

  • Yeah, a few years later, everyone was amazed when DRI and other bands like Suicidal 'crossed over' here is the original crossover. I love al discharge stuff, and this is not their best, but lyrically miles ahead of most crossover bands.

  • crap

  • if you dont mind the lame intro and those shitty hair, its still a great song

  • Wat???...is that Bones wit that big head of hair...!!!

  • @B3tty75 No. Bones left after the State Violence EP. Cal is the only original member in this video.

  • Discharge has always been a band of attitude about doing what you want without worrying about the others, this is punk!

  • @Discimex88

i really like them but THIS is not punk anymore, sorry

  • thats the best phase - (power-)speed-metal, yeah =)

  • Comment removed

  • doesnt the song start with drums and bass and the guitar comes later?...what kinda fucking version is this...goddamn where is the version that i use to know

  • its fucking shit.

  • Is this the great cal with hes heavy metal poodle perm?

  • Discharge is only, Brazil say hello.

  • fuckin awful

  • I like this phase, and I saw them at Fender's Ballroom on the Grave New World tour, great show. There were all these punks and skinheads (many who used to pass out White Aryan Resistance papers!) there. They paid to get in and act surprised when Discharge played, despite them having been getting more metal over many years. They tried to boo them off stage but Discharge didn't care and put on a good show. Conformity was a glaring flaw with the hardcore scene, despite many great bands.

  • im afraid they tried to change away from hardcore...biggest mistake ever

  • vocals makes me wanna cry : /

  • haha look at these scroat bags.... Cal was cool... these guys have so much hair going "POOF" that they give boy George a run for his money... god I am glad The exploited at least still rock...

  • Well Boy George is bald like most Faggots!!!

  • Good joke!

  • haha wow ...I'm glad they didn't turn into a heavy metal band like Danzig...they were going in that direction image-wise

  • Guess you never heard their later stuff...

  • i don't like this phase of discharge, but this material particularly seems interesting.

    whatever... discharge is the best!!!!!

  • People, here is the missing link between punk and thrash...not many people nowadays see this!

  • If it was Bones, Cal, Rainy and whatever drummer they wanted, I wouldn't care how they looked. It would be amazing regaurdless

  • I cant se why/how they changed

    its too horrible to fathom

  • Lol @ rat with discharge. He suks ball with discharge. Cal is way better. Too bad he's no where to be found

But I do agree this version of discharge sucked as much balls as rat on vox

  • I like early Discharge, not the long haired metal fucks as seen in this video--OK progress as a band but to think what Discharge were originally with strong vocals and a great backing band to this weak as piss bog standard rubbish.

  • hes like a long haired john joseph of the cro mags

  • this discharge is cool , but cant touch the WHY shit

  • Fucking good!!!DRI times and crossover. But I see that many people commenting here don't understand that.Nice video.

  • no woder they got bottled at the time....why do indie bads such as Joy Division inevitably go funk and thrash bands go shit rock? Thank gods Rat & Disharge are back to their best without fookin cal

  • shirts back on, hair back off please

  • fuck this gravenewworld phase

  • Cal looks like Ted Nugent!

  • 懐かしい。Dischargeが来日したとき、わざわざHiroshimaからKawasakiまで観にいった。

    不満がないと言えば嘘だけど、それなりに楽しめた。

  • thrash till death! XD!!!!

  • Embarrasing... this is not discharge..

  • hahah fuck yeahZ!

  • musically is does but the vocals are just as bad !

  • Rat was the man. Cal is like every 80s metal singer, and he transformed the band into a horrible genre, wheres the punk? this is when Discharge died.

  • rat stuff is just as bad as cal bad years!

  • Rat's superb with the Varukers- he's still light years ahead of this, even if he's not the best with Discharge.

  • it's cal he's still pissed off A+ for that

he was doing something he wanted to do

but the people didnt like it.... light years maybe not... but better then high pich vocals yes

  • hey at least hes cal....and not that rat character hahahahaha...cal come back all is forgiven...problem is no one knows where he is lol x

  • Good version....fuck the prejudice..

  • poodle rock, oh dear...

  • I can't believe what I see. Haha!

  • hahahahahaha

  • this is the BEST version of this song that i ever heard in my whole life. i dont like the albums they release during this era, but playing old songs they were ok. turning into a metal outfit was a natural evolution for them, when they were punk they were more metal than many forms of metal that came after. killer intro and vocals.

  • i agree

  • Comment removed

  • not my favorite era, it's still solid as fuck though!

aye, I don't get the hate for this era

  • this is pretty sick

  • does anybody know where i can get the studio version??

  • yes...

    Discharge : The Singles album

  • yeah...

the more i see... the less I believe!

    realy!

  • after 'why' and 'hear nothing...' and the first 5 7"'s they sucked forever, even nowadays with all the original musos and rat varuker on vocals...o well...

  • The stuff with Rat isn't bad at all! It's crossover/thrash and that's cool in my book. It keeps the punk attitude without just remaking all their old stuff. Yeah though, this era of their career sucks.

I mean it's still better than a lot of bands during that time period. The riffs aren't bad and Cal's vocals sound way more agressive on these songs live than they do in the studio, but this isn't what made Discharge great. So while it could be worse, this stuff can still fuck off.

  • cal should had change the name of the band in those days and play that metal shit which he got into, cause really you can't call this 'discharge' ya know, all founders of the band (Tez, Rainy, Bones) hed left the band since '83-85', this could be good for some glamheads back in those days but it has nothing to do with hardcore/punk whatsoever, dis-fuckin-graceful!

  • I think all Discharge releases are killer, including their later work such as Massacre Divine, and Shootin up the World. Their worst album is by far Grave New World though. People always compare these vocals to some kind of ac/dc style. Sorry, dosent sound like ac/dc..sounds like Cal is still pissed off and experimenting! Where is Cal these days, anyways?

  • Calvin is living in London. He was working as a sound engineer. He's lost his hair and last time i saw him he was sporting the shaved down style!! He's no longer interested in Discharge..

  • UUUMMM SHIT SPRINGS TO MIND, no wonder the shit hit the fan after bones fucked off.

  • I love this song...

  • Hell, I dont mind this. This their Clay Records stuff.

  • more brushed denim than a Status Quo gig.

    A monstrous hair stockpile.

  • such an influencial band, but this not so much. they had 2-3 great albums then they went through some sort of glam slam.

  • hey... mustaine's playin the lead:)

  • Its not the Discharge I Remember from the early 80s90s had to put this one in my playlists under metal guess this

is what happens to old punk bands they grow their hair out

an play metal hehehe off the hook !

  • the mid/late 80s did weird shit to some people...

  • He's like a mini version of Danzig

  • shit, i still like it haha

  • who was in this lineup of discharge?

  • The more I see the less I believe.Too fucking right with this era of shit Discharge. Conflict sum it up best in their song Mental Mania.

  • I like Metallica's version

  • ahh yes, the begining of the end for Discharge

  • nonsense drumming, wishing he was the guirarist of 45 Grave, stupid lyrics = Dirt Head Band

  • any fan of discharge would know that the lyrics didn't matter that much...imo.

  • That is too funny, I am glad you enjoy them.

  • FUCK!!!!=(

  • I loved Discharge since inception and liked this song plus the rest...the end of silence etc...the band I was in when I was 15 covered the more I see plus many older tracks too. All good shit...thanks for putting this up.

  • saw them in nottingham at this time, shit!!!!!!!!!!!!fucking believed in his own hype better now but still not really discharge

  • Though i wear my Never Again shirt proudly i still say: Discharge made Badass music, regardless of "phase", quit shitting about it. Looks never matter; it's their fucken mentality, their ideas, that you as the listener should care about. These bands are portals to information not lifestyle institutions. You people rot our world.

  • still rocked out , hair band no way this is killer you morons !!!

  • Guns n' Roses

    The Discharge Incident

  • Good song. Shit era of this band.

  • Cal should have given up before this phaze of Discharge...we supported them in 1988 & they were completely shite!!!

  • as a huge and devoted discharge fan i must say that ALL theyve done is gone (or at least i like it and im retard) but THIS! they shouldnt have play d beat songs during those years. they raped the song. w/out blood but still they raped it

  • why oh why would you try a different style completely...when you are one of the most influential bands ever...loved in america for being a hardcore punk band???ill never understand it at all...discharge will always be known for the classic FIGHT BACK ep...kicked ass

  • Dis-graceful.

  • They kinda looked ridiculous, but this era produced some of my favourite DISCHARGE songs (The More I See, Born To Die In The Gutter, The Price Of Silence, etc.). I love Grave New World too... so there!

  • GNW was awful. That wasn't the real Discharge.

  • If discharge were gonna go metal they should of least went good metal ie thrash, speed metal rather than shitty mainsteram glam metal.

  • I saw them in NYC around this period and they were booed off the stage. I hate to say it, but I thought rightly so. The only other band I saw booed off the stage in such a manner was when The Meat Puppets played with Suicidal Tendencies. The Meat Puppets actually wanted to be booed off I think, as they baited the audience (I remember one was wearing a "LOVE" t-shirt and they played very peaceful material). I actually thought that was kind of cool. Like FEAR in reverse.

  • wenaa

  • this is why i fucking hate metal

    bring back the d-beat dis-noize!

  • i'd rather see this anyday than rat singing

  • This is the "metal" years for Discharge...I hated everything they did at that time. Fuck Cal for trying to sing...he fucking can't sing. Argggghhhhh...boy did they blow it.

  • Discharge should be shot for making this bullcrap! DIE HARD DISCHARGE FAN LIKE YOU, you should know what Discharge should sound like!!

  • Its always cool to see discharge but, compared to their early 80's stuff this isnt all that great in my book. Still its fuckin Discharge so it is always better than most musik. Really it is hard for any band to compare to Discharge.

  • This IS a feeble bastard!

  • grave new world was great and if you disagree your not a DIE HARD DISCHARGE FAN LIKE ME! ahah

  • I like it, it's pretty cool, different and different is GOOD.

  • ;_;

  • you all still love discharge so just swallow your anger

  • what discharge did here is unforgivable

  • hey man they had to pay the bills somehow lol

  • they must have been fuckin broke. this is musical prostitution!

  • TOM'S WITHERED HAND I SEE, SPAIN, SURFIN AND MISERY.

The guy with the mohican in the crowd is obviously lost...he meant to go to the DISCLOSE gig down the road for some real face melting d beat. Instead he ended up watching a Stoke version of Anthrax with Kelvin Beladonna making the entire population of Japan cringe- prior to commiting hari-kari.

  • Makes me cry does this ...

  • well, they were Discharge before this shit. If they changed their name, they would have been a quite great metal band, but its a hit in the face at Discharge to calll this Discharge really. Warning is good as a metal album but not... punk... haha, his falsett screams is actually great, in a metal way.

  • shit dude....i think a little part of me just died

  • I guess they were listening to too much Def Leppard and Poison around this time. By the mid 80s the punk movement was flat and had to pull out some gimmick to keep playing.

  • I saw Discharge quite a lot, but never in their Kisscharge days. A couple of Wolvo Punk girls saw em at London Klub Foot in 86 or 87, and they got bottled off the stage. Served em right for being a poor man's Led Zeppelin.

  • (Correction)

PS:Meant to say I hate rat with discharge.. sounds awful.

  • Discharge will always be discharge to me. They sound ok here. But the D beat roots will always own me. And

PS: I hate Rat with the varukers I seen them 3 times and wow they sound horrible with Rat.

  • fuck this

  • cal seems a gay version of conan the barbarian

  • The poor cats were pounded with GARBAGE when they played the RITZ in NYC to support their new "metal" look feel and sound - vocals especially.

Cals unique voice on the early HEAR NOTHING... era - he sounds off the manifesto - like lyrics.

Very basic - almost military jargon. But it's Cals rage and disgust that made his maniacal pleas so cool.

DISCHARGE was ALWAYS 'METALLIC" - in the attack and the SOUND.

Cal just didn't due Bruce Dickenson well...

  • It's Dickinson you dumbass

  • say it to my face you little puke.

Real cyberballs for a 20yr old - say it to my face and I'll show you the REAL DUMBASS

  • The one thing that really pisses me off about the "metal" Discharge is Cal's voice, he sounds constipated.

  • it's not horrible, just not good. they look like fucking gooofs and a half, but that doesn't matter much. defintely not as good as there earlier shit, but not bad

  • I like the "metal" discharge. Definetly not as much as the older stuff, but I still like the more metal stuff!

  • i dont know why people hate the "metal" discharge. its no way as good as the old discharge but this aint that bad

  • i kinda do agree with that hahahaha

  • ahh thats my fucken favorite song

  • This Discharge phase is horrible...This is not a discharge, normally. God blees Rat from Varukers, who save this gropu..yeah
