You know, you have quite a beautiful voice. I have accompanied and coached the lieder many times for sopranos and baritones. This particular song (beautiful song) requires incredible breath control. Admittedly not your best performance here, and as you said, you were tired at this point. HOWEVER, your rendition of "Will You" (my favorite song from Grey Gardens) is Beautiful! I think you need a better voice teacher/coach to help you focus your tone more.
@htshoward thank you for the comments. my voice teacher is actually INCREDIBLE. it was my performance of the song that did not live up to standards. like i said before, i was tired & a lot of stuff got thrown off because of it, but my teacher is definitely not the problem. it was just me on this day : )!
and thank you for the positive comments about "Will You". musical theatre is my strength. The reason why I sang classical music in my recital was because it was a requirement for music ed.
@Kmvombr WE all have bad days....and singers have it a bit rougher than instrumentalists in that their voice IS their instrument (as you well know) and is affected by how you feel, etc. Musical theater is definitely your strength, but it is so necessary to study the classics, as they help to build your technique and breathing far better than other musical genre. Great to hear you have a good teacher, and please keep up the great work. I will listen to your other section. Have a good weekend!
@shaun20483 this was my worse run of the song. agreed. it was not very good.
the classical portion of my recital is mainly up for my family to view. this song is not too difficult, but this was in a recital of 14 other songs (including musical theatre songs), so by then i had lost my breath control and stamina a little.
my strengths are in musical theatre and jazz. so if you'd like to see better videos, i'd skip the classical and just go straight to the theatre ; ).

@htshoward please feel free to listen to my other musical theatre songs. i think you will find those more enjoyable : )
the classical songs are mainly on youtube for family members and friends who didn't get to see the recital.
like i said, solo classical singing is not my forte...musical theatre is : )
