this is the ex that made me realize how special yuna is and why shes above the other skaters. im not a skater myself, but i realized that mirai and mao, my favorites, seem to be able to pull off the technical elements really well, with straight line spirals and amazing spins, but they dont have the maturity and artistry that yuna kim has. its like theyre doing the moves one after another while yuna presents a show that happens to have those moves in it. am i right? i dont know..

@ssmfrocks I don't think that applies to Mao (look at her 08' exhibition, I think she displays extraordinary artistry and maturity), but hey, each to their own opinion. I do agree that Mirai still has a "junior" look to her skating though.

"Only Hope" was my favorite gala from Kim, except now, it's tied with the "Meditation from Thais" performance after the Olympics. As much as I love her fire and fierceness, I adore this graceful and elegant side of her too. She skates like a feather on ice; so light and smooth. The way she uses her face expressions and her fingertips to interpret the music, is phenomenal. She is the only skater who has both the technical excellency, as well as exceptional musicality amongst the ladies today.

All her jumps in this gala were double axels. It was because she had hip injury at that time. In the world competition, she made a few mistakes just because of her injury. She couldn't practice enough and had suffered a lot. Even though, she could have won the 2008 world champion if only there were fair judgement. She surely is the best skater ever. Healthy Yuna is beyond any comparison. Shame on you those people who try to disparage Yuna just because she is not from their own country.
