  • great idea with the color wash! such vibrant colors! just to let you know, every single mini mister i have bought has given me grief of some degree when used for the first time.. lol and thats usually when im on a roll and have to stop to fix the problem.

but after that, the mini misters seem to work just fine. thanks for the video.

  • You are so creative thank you for sharing.;)

  • What a wonderful tutorial! Love this, I'll definitely be trying this. Also love the stickpins. :)

  • Thanks!!!! I always wondered how they made the beads stay without falling out!! Duh...........that was easy!! LOL.

  • Awesome tutorial. Thanks.

  • the best thing for pearl ex to set take tacky glue like from staples is good warm water mix well in a botle and spray it doesnt have to be rewarmed it works great

  • Your tutorials are always very precise and very well made. Easy to understand for those who are in need of the info. Thanks for sharing and all the time to do vids to help others. tyfs

  • Where do you get the color washes? thanks..Lori

  • @ljn4sons Hi Lori, I think I bought the color washes at scrapbookingalley-dot-com. It's been awhile, but I believe they still carry them. :-)

  • Love this! I still haven't ventured into the world of glimmer mist or moonshadow mist or misting in general, but you're making me want to try it! Ack! :)

  • love the tutorial ate ar!! im so totally gonna make the stick pins!!!

    thanks for sharing

    quinn :)

  • Love the techniques. You are so creative. Thanks for inspiring and sharing

  • it is pronouced espresso, not expresso! just saying!

  • @weloveriley OK.... Thanks for commenting to say that!!

  • @weloveriley well arlene didnt mean to say that!!!!

so i bet you should shut your mouth!!

  • @weloveriley and you can say that in a nice or kind way!!! you dont have to be harsh for that!!! im just saying this for you cause people might be offended in your comments,., im not mad im just saying whats the right thing to do. Thanks

  • Just a little note, I've made a ton of these, if you add a couple drops of any water soluble glue to your mixture (aka Elmer's for example) you won't need a fixative if you use the Pearl Ex...just thought you might want to know!

  • nice vid, appreciate the instructions and tips... Penny

  • thanks for sharing

  • Awesome Arlene, I was wondering "How do you clean out your Nossels of the Mini misters" ?

Thank you for you super video

    Arohanui X :-)

  • Great video Arlene and thanks so much for sharing!

  • Hey Arlene! As usual, this is fantastic info! A little off topic.....how do you make the jumbo tags? Is it a die or cut from a cricut cart?

    Hugz,

    Trina

  • I make my sprays from scratch using ink refills (about 5 drops) in water in a spray bottle. then i add a dollop of perfect pearls..

  • I just love your videos. I don't have the color wash but I will get some and the mica. I also love your pins. I just have to make me some. Thank you so much for sharing you incredible knowledge with us. Oh BTW what is the website that you purchase your mica powders from?

  • @sharoncaillier Hi Saron! Thanks for your sweet comment! :-) I get my magical mica powders from lindystampgang - dot - com (can't include a URL in the comment for some reason, it's weird.) LOVE Lindy's stuff. You have to try the Starburst Stains if you haven't already. Awesome stuff! :-)

  • AR thanks you much for sharing that techniques...I already did the stick pins...they look great also...the glimmer mist technique will be trying ..thanks so much

  • Thanks for this vid, very cool. Doesn't hairspray turn yellow after not too much time?

  • @cjucoder Not if you use a thin layer. You don't need to use much. :-)

  • funny you post this. I just made my glimmer spritzer using the pearl ex and water. I added a couple of drops of elmers glue in it as well. I'm going to try the reinkers next. Thank you for sharing!! This is definitely a cheaper alternative.

  • Hi Arlene,

I'm interested in the copic markes. What's the difference between the copic sketch markers and the copic Ciao? I saw them at HL but I didn't know what they were.

    TFS

  • Hi Arlene!! Thanks for showing how you make the stick pins. I'll have to try it, it looks fun!! Love ALL your videos!!

    Tracey F.

  • I found this video very helpful Arlene! I plan on doing some online shopping so this is going to help on making my selections!!

  • I love making my own glimmer mist. i have made tons with the Tim Holtz Distress ink dyes and perfect pearls.

I find that the glimmer comes off or pools - do you have any hints or tips for that problem?

  • Great tutorial on the glimmer mists. I was wonderring after seeing Jenni Bowlis pins if you could make your own. This is a way cheaper option and when you dont have access to them this is great. Thanks for sharing.

  • I love your homemade glimmer mist! I don't own any myself (bought or made), but I'm always on the look-out for bargains. Making your own looks like it would cost less over the long run. Plus, although I couldn't tell from the vid, but you said that the homemade kind has more shimmer to it. I'm all for shimmer. Thanks for sharing! ~Dera

  • I'm going to try stick pins this week. TFS!

  • Hi Arlene! I love your pins...I actually was gonna buy a ox today but then put it back...now I regret it:( oh well...gonna go back next week. On your flower I see the fabric isn't the silky one you had been using, what kind is it?more of a cotton fabric? just curious...Imma tryin' different fabrics:) Jules

  • @jannaviles Hi Jules! I used the same fabric on the lollipop flower I showed in this vid... I just added diamond dust to it. :-) I want to try some taffetta... it burns easily, but the look if gorgeous! :-)

  • @mybutterflykisses12

Thanks Arlene! omg! I did that too, to a black silky lollipop flower, it's so gorgeous! I thought I noticed some texture on it :) Taffetta...ooh yummy fabric! haha
