They actually did this kind of scene in Superman 3 there's a bridge that is on the verge of collapse but Superman is too pre-occupied hanging around Lana Lang's house, acting like the normal goody-two-shoe Superman but he's really there to make it with her, all this time the bridge is deteriorating rapidly finally collapsing into the river with many causalties, deaths. When Superman shows up, a cop chastises him saying, Thanks for nothing.

I meant opuses like Donner's Superman, Batman, StarWars, Terminator etc.

Those were opuses, cinematic legends, which ended up earlier with trashes like: Superman III. and IV, Batgirl and Robin + Catwoman, Star Wars prequels + animated series, Terminator 3.

And the reason for these were the same mistake: to think that making an adult opus more kidfriendly and goofy is what makes more familys and money come in,

I'm glad at least Batman was given his former glory back.
