The Helicopter was real, but the sound effects are added in. A Bell 222 never made or makes those sounds, unfortunately.

@Data1701E , I agree, while the Helicopter is real, the sound effect is pethetic as a Bell 222 would never be able to make that sound.

@MrAr1976 the sound effects were added to show how it would of sounded "if" this footage had been part of an episode (IE, this IS how airwolf sounded in the tv show, this isn't a basic bell 222, its AIRWOLF) & a bell 222 could make those sounds, all's it would require is specialy designed exausts. Ber in mind.. wind & draft are the bringers of sound, it just needs to be put through the right shape opening, more tricky than making a saxaphone or trumpet granted.. but not impossible nither :D

I ve heard the original Airwolf Bell 222 helicopter was sold to the Red Cross in Germany ( or came to Germany later ) and then got somehow damaged in "action", beyond repair.

Not exactly. Yes the "Airwolf" Heli was sold to a Medical Service ( Callsign was: D-HHSD) here in Germany. The Helicopter crashed in a Thunderstorm with fog on 6th of June 1992 on return of a rescue flight back to Berlin. Three people died.

@knightrider411 thank you :) i have such a passion for airwolf, its the sound, my ears just love it, as a kid i never watched much tv, wasn't allowd to (got told tv rots your mind) while dad sat their watching coronation street : /

but my ears have always been drawn to sounds.

I was 14 i realized i could play the keyboard, wich was a right shocker. but airwolfs sound, its the one pitch that sticks in my mind, airwolf rocks.. so does knightrider, kits scanner. the hoff & kitt, working combo :)

No, the original Bell Helicopter from the Airwolf series was sold to Germany. It crashed after a transport a little child from a accident to hospital.

i got a confession to make though lol

i forgot the add the little clinking kinda noise, as the heli just leaves the ground & the landing gear kinda drops that little bit

in the pilot we see/hear its kinda spring loaded when she rises & it makes that odd noise, i forgot to add that lol

i love audio editing, i play music by ear, and can name most actors by hearing voice & name movie (if ive seen it) by hearing phrase spoken by the voice, thats kinda odd really lol

Sorry to burst everyones bubble but this is a bell 222 heli. Airwolf from the show was just a modified bell 222. The bell 222 is a rare heli though that carrys important people around.

there is nothing rare about the 222 its a dated model now but when the show was aired it was still relatively new airship thousands have been built along with her successor classes and models theres plenty flying yet you just gotta know where to go!
