  • house nigga eat dick

  • bro take a chill pill.. you're acting like you're fresh off a line of coke

  • Last of the Mohicans, Last Samurai, Dancing with Wolves, District 9, Avatar, Pocohontas...etc...(im sure there are more)

Symbolism is just as good as overt action

  • Can't say if the "movie" avatar is racists but I can say for sure that the "movie" insults my intelligence.

  • ha ha ha A real racist tries to find racism in thin air. no doubt though, I like ur style bra! God Bless

  • I don't think it was racist. I think it was three perspectives on existence clashing. There were the scientists, the tribes, and the mercantilists. It may only have been two that were clashing; those that seek balance with nature, and those who wish to rape it. Then the scientists, who want to understand it, but were actually no better than the mercantilists as they didn't see a problem with creating a life then robbing it of it's own identity. Ask me, if you wonder what I mean by this last part

  • it was racist in that it was human race against the navi race

    pfffft

  • Perhaps, and I'm just spitballing here. They hired the best actors for the job and the story just sorta fell with it.... It was a good movie and people who thought it was racist are probably racist themselves.

  • James Cameron goal was to make a great movie. He did that. Still, it is difficult to watch the movie without thinking about events of the past, present and even future. It had me thinking about Racism, Slavery, Human Wars, We vs Us Mentality, The American Native Indians, Global Warming. The movie touches on the human experience. The movie is transcending and it speak volume of human beings beyond race.

  • anyone who sees racist bs in this movie needs to go to therapy.

  • Avatar is not racist. it is a futuristic version of a King Arthur story. One movie had natives who painted themselves blue. This is part of there culture. These natives actually existed even if Arthur did not. Guess what the natives were. Thats right navi's. Sound Familiar. King arthur helps them and becomes king. also their is a king arthur movie coming out about this. Anybody who wants to avatar appear as racist is racist against white people. trying to find a reason to be mad at white people

  • When have you seen primitive aliens?Aliens are always technologically advanced (And modeled after whites).1st movie that they aren't advanced & they make them black. They find a planet full of black people in the year 2154,and its a completely non-developed hunter gatherer society? No spaceships,no fortresses,no houses.Bare feet & ass.

So if there's an all-black planet out there,it's a jungle. They haven't invented anything or nothin.Just like they'd be here if it wasn't for white folks, huh?

  • Really,I dont think it even matters if Avatar is racist.I think the most racist thing of all is that ppl feel black ppl dont have the right or reason to question if it is.People analyze art.Film theory/critisism is taught in school. If I said Avatar was anti-Imperialism or anti-Military,nobody'd be mad at that.We could have a healthy debate. But if I say it was racist,I get "You're retarted..STFU..Its just a movie..Enjoy it."Why?Why am I treated as a 'conspiranut' for analyzing a film?

  • There's plenty of racism in Avatar, against white & black.Lets not kid ourselves, the Na'vi were modeled after African bushmen, with a sprinkle of Native Americana. They had the clothes,BRAIDS,bow & arrows and were played by black/Indian actors. There's the obvious "white messiah" theme. Its also racist to whites cuz it portrays them as evil....

  • @youngdrodeau sure disagreement with black ppl is racist, okay. who exactly is questioning your right to question if it is? I think most people regardless of race are sick and tired of all the race card playing idiocy.

  • @RayDandy I never said disagreeing with black ppl is racist.

Almost everyone is questioning our right to question if it is.Look a few comments below.

"anyone who sees racist bs in this movie needs to go to therapy"

"Anybody who wants avatar to appear as racist is racist against white people"

Usin the "race card" sucks. And usin the "You're just usin the race card" card to avoid & dismiss any conversation about racism sucks too.And that card's bein used more & more these days.

  • @youngdrodeau those people disagree with the assertion, it doesn't mean they're taking your "right to believe something is racist" ,this seems to be a victim mentality on your end, disagreement is not taking away your right to an opinion. personally i'm sick of people claiming something is racist when its plain and obvious it is not. the idea that this movie is racist is evidence of moronic racism-chasing where none exists.

  • @RayDandy "the idea that this movie is racist is evidence of moronic racism-chasing where none exists."

Thats exactly what I'm talkin about.I'm a MORON for seeing racism in a movie that OBVIOUSLY has racial undertones.

"Victim mentality?" Another use of the reverse racism "You're usin the race card " card. And no,I don't.If you read my comment you'll see I said "Its also racist to whites cuz it portrays them as evil". Clearly,I'm not just speakin from a pro-black/anti-white POV.

  • @youngdrodeau "obviously has racial undertones", yeah okay. unbelievable.

  • @RayDandy Yes.It obviously has racial undertones.Ya got white ppl playin the evil-doers on one side & blacks and Native Americans playin the "noble savages" on the other.Hell,in one scene, one of the army characters says "How does it feel to turn on your own race?" or "Your own people." (I forget the exact phraseology).

  • @youngdrodeau you're projecting, the fact that the "evil doers" are white doesnt matter. If those characters were black, i'm sure there would be people complaining that black ppl are being cast as evil doers, and that it is racist for that reason.there no pleasing people who think like this, because in their mind everything somehow has a racist context.

  • @youngdrodeau It is just a story about people. You have some people who live on the resources demanded by an advanced culture. The cultures merge and conflict ensues.

You imagine it is racist because that is what you are familiar with, your own story. You could turn a photograph of some trees into the history of racism, or capitalism, or drug use, or whatever you wanted.

  • "You imagine it is racist because that is what you are familiar with, your own story."

STFU.I'm so fuckin sick of ppl like you usin the "it's your imagination" counter attack. This movies clearly a lil racist.Cameron was tryin to send a message about racism. And in doin so,he did alot of racist stereotypin. And its not even a big deal.I'm not mad about it.I'm just mad that ppl are actin like its not racist & if you feel that way, somethin's wrong with you.

  • @youngdrodeau You could say this film is about imperialism, exploiting ancestral land and people. That is not racism or capitalism. Racism is what comes later, after the Navi try to migrate into the capitalist society, at least that would be true if they hadn't won. I am sorry, but people fighting over resources is not racism.

There is a tension between the races in the movie, for sure, but the film itself is definitely not racist. I see no evidence to call the film racist.

  • @youngdrodeau It is the intent of Cameron to create characters that are easy for a wide audience to grasp. Is it racist when the Navi, like in a wild west movie, shoot arrows at the "cowboys" and ride horses? No, that is just the story of ancient vs new technology. The 7 foot blue people, oddly, are easy to identify and seem realistic. Every character is fairly dim-witted and shallow, except the hero. Cheerios = yellow box. White bread = tastes better. Choclate milk = bad teeth. Racist?

  • @youngdrodeau The buttons on my calculator are divided. Black keys stay near the bottom and a row of white seats sit up front. The most commonly used keys are the black ones, and they have white symbols on them. Yellow and red symbols are on the floor, a white surface. There is one yellow button that controls all these other symbols. It is a reflection of the way white people believe the world works. Imperialist China, white land ownership, slavery, the white power button. Isn't it racist?

  • @youngdrodeau Its not a game of Mortal Kombat, where I counter and you jam the keys until the announcer says "finish him". I am not saying you are wrong in analyzing the movie through your lense, but it is not a good analysis. Your idea of calling this film racist, belongs in the margins, after the index, on the back leaf, in the corner, in small print, as a url link.

It is not a rational approach to analyzing this film, you could do this with any film.

  • @youngdrodeau the people screaming racist! wouldn't know real racism if it walked up to them and slapped them across the face.

  • @RayDandy If I were to say this movie is anti-Imperialism,anti-Capitalism,anti-Military or anti-American,would I be a moron for that?

Would I be a moron for saying this movie has a liberal, environmentalist slant to it?

  • @youngdrodeau huh? idk.

  • @RayDandy You dont know? What, you don't understand? Its a simple question - Would I be a moron for saying it had an anti-Capitalist message? Remember, the whole reason the Americans were there was to get resources. So,would I be wrong to say this movie is anti-Capitalism?

  • @youngdrodeau its obviously a rhetorical question, i'm not playing your games.

  • @RayDandy HAHA.Yeh,didn't think you'd wanna answer that one.

    FAIL

  • @youngdrodeau FAIL?, grow up. The question is irrelevant.

  • @youngdrodeau i'm not even sure what you're trying to prove by asking it. what hell does it have to do with the topic, you've veered way off.

  • @youngdrodeau The movie has an advanced society and an ancient society.

Each civilization is divided between the two similar theologies, art and war.

The cultures interact with one another through each of these viewpoints.

The movie is showing how one person can coexist in each society and encompass both theologies, that the difference between us is where we stand, not what we are.

The hero reconciles the demands of each group's demand for limited resources.

  • I've heard Avatar described as "White People Are The Devil: The Movie." What you said wasn't though-provoking, a lot of people do actually feel that way about the movie.

  • Whoever thinks avatar was racist is so freaking dumb. Watch the movie and really pay attention to it. Listen to the message not who's playing who

  • So if the movie was racist towards blacks why did the Navi win in the end? Hmmm. Maybe it was actually racists against whites. Whites were portrayed as being the "bad guy" in this film. Were they not? There is no doubt there is still racism in America but seriously, not everything is racist. If you look for racism you will find it in anything whether it's there or not. Hmm the Bible is black, but wait, the pages are white. What does it mean? Stop looking for it.

  • Ideas from history are used because they're relatable. The most ridiculous thing is the soldiers were of mixed races...most eminent a scene where they're all together in that big meeting hall. So if that isn't politically correct enough, than wow, talk about picking at straws!

  • its just a movie...

but it has elements of racism..!!!

if u don't see it, oh well...

i personally don't have to stick my nose in shit,to know its shit!

  • who gives a fuck about being racists, whites are the worst we know it

  • I like your hat.

  • The director admitted you idiot.

    his words were

"All the black people in my film are black"

So its a fact. Your a moron and you do not research anything.

On a side note your glasses are hideous and i think you need to get some tast

  • @Enigmafly13 this comment proves my point.

  • @RayDandy

    ...your a moron.

These were the directors words NO assumptions.

  • @Enigmafly13 Yes, that vague, out of context, and possibly misinterpreted quote is

    undisputable proof. I'm convinced now.

  • @RayDandy

LoL yeah. out of context. I swear some people just hate Truth soooo much they will ear muff themselves and say the world is peaches and cream

  • @Enigmafly13 look, you can run around hysterically believing avatar and everything under the sun is racist all you want. I really don't care.

  • @RayDandy

You really destroy your credibility when you say because you have seen me call one thing racist they i call everything racist. Avatar does not even constitute for a percent of anything in the world. I will add that its more then black people who have been saying this so that obviously means its something you just are not comprehending.

  • I used to be the worst sort of person for accusing everything of being racist. Now I'm as sick of the whole thing as any sane person. I just want to be able to enjoy music, enjoy a film, enjoy a TV programme without the constant cry of racism. If there are people out there who really believe they can do better, get some damn sponsors together and make a film of your own. Sheesh!

  • @MissDemeanour21 I agree and I used to be the same way. Its a sort of knee-jerk reaction mentality, it's pure emotion, not too much actual thought in it.(we certainly should be wary of racism, but we shouldn't resort to wild accusations based on nonsensical assumptions)

  • Your spot on mate!

  • There was a black dude he was one of the

Marines i dont think he talked though

  • Honestly I thought the Na'vi or however you spell it were more representative of native Americans, but another great video! XD haha this is why I like you you think outside the box.

  • i like how you put "james kkk cameron" in the tags

  • dude please quit lip talkin and if you continue wit that try to make it more real

  • haha yea , pretty dam ironic that the "thats racist" card is played quite often by people with racist views.

  • Actually I had heard that the Navi were Native American not black.

  • @UltraComboer I can give you a shit ad of reasons why the na'vi are black and not mostly native american

  • Comment removed

  • lmao tell those fucktards

  • cheers

  • African tribes fly on giant birds?

  • I think the people crying racism would still be complaining even if the main character

was a black man. They're projecting their own warped ideas of race onto this movie.

There is nothing racist about this movie.

  • Actually read up on the native americans and the pilgrams coming to the ne world for gold it has nothing to do with africans or black people its a new reinvented version of the native americans and the English coming to the new world t take the gold people need to shut up already and look into history not everything has to dowith racism against black people

  • You give an excellent point about people thinking Jake Sully's soul is white. If they had used a black guy to be Jake, someone would have been offended. It doesn't matter who you used. The point of the use of an alien race was to try to keep people from claiming it favoured any particular race, but, rather favoured an approach to existence.

  • Well, whether or not people believe aliens are allegorical to human races, if Jar Jar Binks had popped up I would've been praying for him to get caught in the cross-fire.

  • Actually I believe it's kinda like when the Europeans invaded and took over the native Americas. Except this time the natives win. Which I found quite odd, they have hibernation technology, deep space technology, avatar technology, mechs, and these high caliber machine guns. Yet some how in some way they lost to stone age weapons. It just didn't make much sense.

  • @Failcard It's a little more complicated than that. If you think the war is over in the middle east, you're mistaken. And all they have are primitive weapons. The question is, what are they willing to do to preserve, or protect their way of life. The animals were sacrificing themselves in the end by jamming up the machinery with their bodies. Think of a suicide bomber. That kind of dedication is hard to beat.

  • @Failcard 2...Also, the war isn't over. Europians kept on coming. I expect the company will return as well, likely using biological warfare to knock out the "neural network" Gracey explained to Parker.

  • @Failcard finally someone who has knowledge of american history BRAVO!!!!

  • I think it is very clear that for the script he borrowed alot from real historic events in america and how the native tripes were treated and what was done to their land and forests and so on but to call that racist is retarded as it acctualy focus light on what you could call racist or cultural issues. BTW Blue people are bigger and stronger and better at fighting! racist bastards ;)

  • I love how people become gianormously racist towards white people while trying to point out an alleged racism against another ethnicity xD It's hysterical that they don't get this ^^

  • funny shit lol

  • I just watched the video review. Lol. I hope he's just playing stereotypes.. Right now I can't tell, and I don't want to bust a "Scrotie McBoogerballs".

  • Oh man for a second there I thought you were going to agree with TheAngryBlackReviewer or whatever his name is. I can't stand the race card. It creates so much hypocrisy it drives me insane. And when you hop on a random Youtube vid of millions of people screaming "Racist!" while actually being racist themselves, it gets a bit ridiculous.

  • "white brain patterns" lol that is fucking halarious and racist SUCK IT BITCH

  • i think the navi resemble more like the native americans

  • Well said and funny. :)

Yah, Avatar was kinda patronizing and hammering down it's message of "corporate=evil", "nature=good", and one can like that or not, but racist? Hmmm... Of course they could have made the Navi completely alien instead of using "real world" templates (which are, of course, only clichés mostly), but I doubt that this would have helped the movie in any way. Fact is the average moviegoer kind of "needs" things he/she can recognize to be able to follow a story.

  • First of all, I love your giggle!

I am gonna share a piece of wisdom from my 17 year old daughter. (She was actually 12 when she said this to me) "Racism is something that if you are looking for you will find everywhere and in everything. I don't understand it and its just plain ignorant."

    Wisdom from kids.

  • @kelliko70 Your kid is brilliant.

  • How about thinking every tribal culture is an allegory for your tribal ancestors? People who cry racist at everything belittle the struggles _actual_ sufferers of racism. Thumbs up!

  • COS IM BLUE!!!!

  • I also didn't know about claims Avatar was racist but it doesn't surprise me. Some people look for racism in EVERYTHING (mostly racists).

  • It was racist against smurfs

  • @doc312 tee hee hee

  • Te leader of the clan is played by Wes Studi, an American Cherokee. The men in the movie act more like Native Indians with their war cries. The women in the movie do tend to speak with an African accent. The dance/ceremony/ritual the Na'Vi do when they try to save Sigourney Weaver's character is called Kecak, an Indonesian dance also known as the Ramayana Monkey Chant.

So NO the movie is not racist, just a twist on the past... lighten up people!!!

  • kudos sir, kudos. I didn't know ppl were thinking that Avatar Was Racist, and a lot of the points you brought up gave me a laugh as well.
