@deneco4 well if u wasnt that stupid, you will see this invent is very helpful for mankind, maybe bad advantage if ur a criminal or something, but we are takin the next step into the future :)

Its like that movie minority report. They combined good technology and made some stupid shit like this thats totally lucifarian in nature. God forgive whoever think this is cool. God forgive us for creating such a thing that can search you without warrent.
Hahahaha...i am working with UAV's at university and i assure you that these things are definately on the horizon! This guy is slightly enthusiastic and the sort of thing in this video is over 100 years off at least. Swarming robots is a big topic of study at the moment, but there have been a few good systems designed. The complexity of the MAV to do all of these functions that he is saying is not possible yet...but we're not far from it!
Beautiful bird design. I'd prefer a jet propulsion system to support flapping wings than props, I wonder who the power line system would work? I thought power lines with alternating current...oh wait. Magnetic principles in wires and the use of vibrations. Duh. I imagine the explosive ones would need a shape charge system.
The enemy will find out about this "weapon" in no time, of course, so they will simply start shooting everything down that looks like a bird - including all birds. Or better: they will poison all birds - what's still flying is a weapon that can then easily be shot down. Next the enemy will start copying those weapons, so that all Western nations will have to outlaw all birds, poison them and shoot them out of the sky, for the sake of protection against terrorism.
"The most absurd apology for authority and law is that they serve to diminish crime. Aside from the fact that the State is itself the greatest criminal, breaking every written and natural law, stealing in the form of taxes, killing in the form of war and capital punishment, it has come to an absolute standstill in coping with crime. It has failed utterly to destroy or even minimize the horrible scourge of its own creation."
"...[Chris] Hedges draws on classical literature and his experiences as a war correspondent to argue that war seduces entire societies, creating fictions that the public believes and relies on to continue to support conflicts... The Hurt Locker, an Academy Award-winning film, opens with a quotation from the book: 'The rush of battle is a potent and often lethal addiction, for war is a drug.' "
As soon as they are used some will be immediately captured and reverse-engineered and all the software used to drive the MAV will fall into enemy hands. I don't see much about this but I'm concerned about it.
the terorist is so dumb that is dont feel the wind and dont hearn the flap of this ridicul toys at 1000dollars piece(dont mention about faisability of a walker flyer camera autonomous emiter bomb stealth device)
it is interesting. why can not catch the this evil man Osama bin laden who is still alive and many his followers nothing but great trouble for us as americans and also many in decent muslim people in the world.
mistyblueshores, you should do some research on the Bush clam and their ties woth Osama, I think it'll make you wake up to the fact that Osama is part of the evil plan of the NWO. The 9/11 attack on America was an inside job/ a "false flag" if you will . . . It 'll all fall into place if you search for the truth.
they have these things already...i see them flying around my house from time to time....i live near a military installation where these things are stationed.
Hell of an advertisement. It is probably already in use as we are normally behind 20 years or so on what is truth about this type of device or anything used for war.
I think this animation shows very well the future prospects of mav technology capable of long endurance missions by harvesting power from electric lines which is very feasible as investigated at MIT. We can also see flapping wing mav which maybe flapping it's wing at ultrasonic frequencies to remain unobtrusive and also is capable of perching on vertical asperities as proved by experiments at Stanford BDML
simply detect rf emissions, and these bugs are probs no more. a nuisance, probably.
but unless they are smart enough to operate silently, their success rely on the inability of the targets to develop countermeasures (meaning they must be technologically backward).
A lot of 3D simulations, but none practical yet, I think that they are just asking for money to spend it in research, but they use of the concepts is a shit. I don't think they deserve that money
Honestly I don't like how the concept is conveyed here... and he keeps saying "M" "A" "V"... MAVs have more than just these roles. Lucky it's still at the pure scientific stage for flapping flight (that's what I am studying). The presented computer model of the "box with wings and legs on" cannot be more lack of imagination... They tried to make it "cool" and "scary", what's the point? Peace cannot be maintained with threat, however powerful one side might be.
There was a law suit when an energy company found a guy harvesting and supplying electricity from the EMF around a high voltage power line to his house. The guy lost.

it wont be able to charge off powerlines, for the same reason i can hang off one as long as i dont touch another line or ground.
oblanob 11 months ago
@oblanob
Incorrect. It will charge. When you hang on a power-line you charge.
Its just that you have no ground so the current cannot flow THROUGH you, it is the flow of electricity that kills you not the electricity itself.

That seems to imply a linear progression of technological advancement which does not necessarily stand to reason.
For one, consider ethics (which I realize that many in technological fields seem to dispense with).

These could be used to overwhelm enemy radar stations and essentially down them allowing for air-strikes unanswered.
But I'm with most, this will be used on our own citizens. Squash all bugs.

that's... inspired!
and with the current fast-charge lithium-ion batteries you could fully re-charge with just a 5 minute "sit-down" on the powerline.
