Basically it only applies to stopmotion, but it's when you don't need onionskinning to make your animation smooth and fluent. When you can animate essentially out of feel and get the outcome you wanted is when I would say you've reached the skill level to be called a "true animator". I didn't mean anything bad by it, I was just suggesting Monkeyjam for him when he feels he doesn't need onionskinning anymore.
By the way, I looked at your animations, they're pretty nice.
btw, I'd go 4 either AnimatorDV Simple+, Honestech Claymation Studio, or Stop Motion Pro. If you are wondering, AnimatorDV Simple+ is free- just google it. Honestech Claymation Studio is very good, and only costs about 40 dollars. Not that expensive. Stop Motion Pro is quite a bit more expensive. MonkeyJam in my opinion, sucks for stop motion. If you are goin to use monkeyjam, use digicel flipbook instead. You'll like it much better- except that it isn't free.

I've tried all buy Claymation Studio, and Monkeyjam works perfectly fine for me. I don't need anything more than it. I can capture my frames using live action, arrange them to put them backwards, delete them, copy them, etc., and choose my FPS. It has a lot of other features, but I just don't really have need for any of them.

You should use Monkeyjam. It's a lot better. It doesn't have onionskin, but if you are a true animator you don't need it.
