I just did a test today in university about the affects of the WHA and how it changed the structure and history of hockey in Canada and the United states. Garry Davidson had it right when he created the AFL and the ABA. He thought that the WHA could make a profit, to bad it still isn't around today! My professor wrote an article on the WHA that some may want to check out!
I live in Houston and Ive been to many Aeros games and I dont know the history. I only know that Gordy Howe played for them and I dont know if there were an NHL team. I know now that they are AHL.
OMG -- where did you get this!?! If you only knew how many great childhood memories this brings back (we LOVED when they played this video at the start of every Aeros game, and at the end if they won). Thx so much for posting this!!!

Maybe, John Tonelli was good in the NHL also. As were several Aeros.
I actually went to one WHA game, it was the NY Golden Blades vs. The Los Angeles Sharks.
I remember Andre Lacroix playing for NY.

Think the NHL made a mistake when they merged with the WHA.I think the Houston Areos would have been great for the NHL.
