Brooks was an animated son of a gun who went all out on his players- but he only did that to get them to play with heart and passion because he knew they weren't good enough to win on talent alone. Hey may have cussed at them and got into their faces, but in the end, he actually did care for them. In the words of one of my old coaches "if I'm in your face, it means that I see potential in you".

The US was up 7-3 against the #2 team in the world, so not only was the win a huge upset, but that it was a slaughter. The US actually had an easier bracket-- the Finns, Soviets, and Canadians were all ranked higher, but were in the opposite pool.
But,the Swedes were ranked #3, so the US had a real test facing Sweden and the Czechs as games 1&2. Go 1-0-1-, they're in. So the cheap shot was no accident.

Yes, it TRULY was and I wound up buying it the very first day it went on sale and it really was a special memory for those of us who are old enough to remember it. Brooks was TRULY a legend, smarter than his years would have had you think he was!

Yes, it TRULY was and I wound up buying it the very first day it went on sale and it really was a special memory for those of us who are old enough to remember it. Brooks was TRULY a legend, smarter than his years would have had you think he was!
If you DON'T have "Miracle", I suggest you get it because it truly IS a great movie. Herb worked on it before he died and Kurt Russell did a MASTERFUL job playing Herb, he really did, it was a shame he didn't live long enough to see it, sadly...

Whether or not it was true..Why the Fuck would you be worried about it? Why even bring it up. I don't like hockey.I couldn't name one fucking hockey player,I remember watching the movie miracle and wanted some motivation before I go out and train in the fucking blistering heat for my sport.I don't know Herb Brooks,but after watching the movie attributed to him.I'm gonna go out and run my ass off again.and again..and again.
