@MsTracie I don't know if she's on par with Sadie, but in my opinion Rachel Brice is a very good belly dancer aswell, though her dancing is more tribal than classic. It's definitely worth checking out! Just Youtube/google her name, you should find come nice vids.

It's a dance of Arab peoples that is generally thought to have originated in Egypt at least 5,000 years ago. Also, "Arab" is not a style. There is Lebanese, Egyptian, etc.

The skin they show doesn't make them a whore or a stripper, it's part of the dance. @MsTracie I don't know if she's on par with Sadie, but in my opinion Rachel Brice is a very good belly dancer aswell, though her dancing is more tribal than classic. It's definitely worth checking out! Just Youtube/google her name, you should find come nice vids.

After all, even the entity you call God had a divine wife and consort at one time (her name is Asherah--look it up if you don't believe me.) Bellydance is, at least to me, a powerful way of primally connecting with her. That far back people understood that without male and female, there could be no creation, and therefore it was reflected in their deities.

@0Sarenity0 Bellydance is not Thai or Indian. It is a middle eastern dance that mainly comes from Arabic speaking nations. I understand you want to help, but please get your facts straight first. Belly dance is generally considered to be Raqs sharki, which more or less translates to eastern dance. It's a dance of Arab peoples that is generally thought to have originated in Egypt at least 5,000 years ago. Also, "Arab" is not a style. There is Lebanese, Egyptian, etc.
