I used to sit in guitar circles in Ocean Beach in San Diego. There would be ten of us all tuned together playing this song and we had a really good singer in the mix. I agree with giamontgia, but only up to the point you swear that you have to die before you could be caught with anyone else except the one you already said you must be with from now on. In other words: Once a person is married he can't possibly have anyone else, unless one of the other of the two has already died. This oath has already been sworn to the whole of society, for better or worse. So there's no way the song can be true after a standard marriage contract has been granted.

They're both great songs (I just played 'em both on vinyl!), but always remember, Steve Stills came first...by about 7 years.
