  • i use gloves when i play airsoft cuz i get shot in the finger tips and fingers

  • mechanix are not built for obstacle courses or rope climbing and i cant see them holding up in a "tactical" role. still, im getting a pair for christmas because of this video.

  • My favorite gloves...mechanix...make really good stuff.....I have at least 3pairs...heavy duty leather...I beat them up pretty good still hold strong.

  • I have the "stealth" pair shown in this video, great gloves for a cheap price. Walmart sells the black gloves with white lettering where it says "Mechanix" all over the gloves for $20 also if you don't feel like buying these online and paying for shipping.

  • Just bought two pairs of Mechanix Framers gloves- one for work and one for shooting. I'm a long time skin-and-bones guy and I absolutely cannot stand full fingered gloves.. I have the scars to prove it!

  • Football receiver gloves have the best grip and fit in my experience. Has anyone used them with guns?

  • @Endelin haha my brother in law uses them

  • Got mine at Chucks O'Riley's for $10

  • great gloves. and you can get them at walmart lol for $20

  • Great vid! What would happen if you cut the tips off the trigger finger & thumb tips off will the treading come undone? Or should I burn it with a lighter?

  • I got the stealth ones. They're hands down the best all round gloves I've worn

  • Good, quick glove vid.

  • Nice gloves. Just picked me up a pair at wal-mart for about 19 bucks.

  • I have two pairs of these but I have to say I actually prefer the Wells Lamont Mech Pro gloves I got at Wal-Mart for $10, and I think they are on-sale now for $8. I use them for everything, yard work, turkey hunting, shooting, they hold up well.

  • "I don't need Battlestar Gallactica acoutrements" Classic line!

  • dude, where were you when I was in the military?

  • Very fine review. I'm going to buy Mechanex for Airsoft.

  • I use Mechanix for damn near anything. Yard work, vehicle work, camping, shooting, gun cleaning for real nasty stuff, moving, and even some paintball if I'm using certain guns that don't require a lot of finger movement. Excellent stuff. The only issue is my left one is starting to undo in the stitching at the thumb-index connection. No big deal. I'll probably pick up some new stealth ones soon or fix 'em myself.

  • Bought a pair of coyote brown gloves for my job at meijer they work great. I work freezer and had my hands in the freezer for about 30 minutes straight and only then did I notice the cold and then my fingertips thawed in 30 seconds.

  • I know this is an older video but you can pick up these gloves at Wal-Mart and most auto part stores! Save the time lol

  • Check out some Motorcycle gloves. Made for all weather conditions and reduction in hand fatigue... Huge varieties too.

  • The palm fabric is "simulated leather"

    65% nylon

    35% polyurethane

  • If you like the Mechanix gloves look at Camelbak's glove line. They actually bought Mechanix. Their gloves are exact copies of older brands

  • I want to try these but I fear they will not last any better than a $5 pair. Hasn't mattered if they were $5 or $25 but I tend to get tears in the fingertips showing up in as little as a week or less.

  • my favorite intro song

    JD

  • Hi, can anyone recommend the new SKIN battery heated glove liners?

    I saw them at sk-i-n.com

I was considering buying a pair for my boy friend so I would appreciate any advise

  • Thanks Nutn, thinking about ordering myself a pair of woodland camo mechanix for airsoft. DON'T HATE AIRSOFT. Haters. :P

    Spread the love.

  • @Slash28ACR airsoft is kool when your playing against well organized teams...

  • i actually have a gray version they are an old pair they stopped making the gray i think i cant find them anywhere... great gloves i use them when working on my truck, shoveling, climbing, almost everything and they still are holding up for the 4 years ive had them

  • I bought mine at Lowes, surprisingly a good store for knives, gloves, axes, flashlights and stuff like that.

  • They also come in a camo color now

  • I got these gloves today at autozone on sale for $20. They are my second pair and I like them alot.

  • hey veri. can you tell us nutn hand size so we could know which size to buy???

  • @Uri24 I was going to comment on size as a topic of note and then I saw your question. He is size large. He always says "tend to the large size" regarding his. I do have these gloves and they are excellent. They really fit well and afford good dexterity IF you are sized correctly. I do not consider my mits to be large. More like medium. This brand I take large and they are snug. I would strongly recommend fitting them in a store if you can rather than ordering online. The labeling seems iffy.

  • @newcoyote i wish i could messure them in a store. but i live in israel and as much as i tried, i could'nt find any gloves like these. we are a stap back in everything relates to tactical gear suply. just for you all to know a kershaw chill cust in israel about 125$. and they make it a hard time to carry it anyway. gun and knife control is all messed up in israel. just puting out my frustraition on the web, pay no attention to me

    . : )

  • @newcoyote o and by the way. my hand size is like this: 7.3 inches from the top of the middle finger to the wrist. the length of the middle finger is about 3.3 inches and the palm is 4 inches. the width (just above the thomb) is about 3.3 inches. the length of the thumb including all 3 bones is about 4.6 inches. the thumb it self is only 2.2 inches. beside that i got very thin fingers, very much like a magician or a piano player. if you can help me with that, i will really appreciate it.

  • @Uri24 Comparing those dimensions to my hand & the large glove you might be a medium but it hard to say. I'm no sizing expert. I did not think of it at the time before but Mechanix actually has a sizing chart on their website. On the home page near the bottom under Customer Service is a link to a PDF. They give instructions there. That is probably your best bet at an accurate sizing which is important if you are employing them in a tactical type role, I'm sure you know. Good luck & Shalom

  • @newcoyote Thanks man, thats help me alot. I'll go check the website right now ; )

  • Just went out and bought a pair. I love them.

  • Good tip... and I would do too... do my own repairs =)

  • look for the mpact pro gloves made by mechanix you can find them in lowes lightweight very protective and i have used them as my extraction gloves for the fd

  • Love my fox racing gloves

  • so would winter gloves not be a good choice to wear when shooting a gun?

  • I have a set of woodland cammo ones. one draw back is that there is no big loop for a carabiner or a extra strap or whatever

  • do you have anytime under the newer models? M-Pact Coyote Glove?

  • I got the black w/ white letters for range shooting. Awesome cause they dont let my trigger finger blister like it used to!!!

  • Why do you prefer the top latching over the bottom latching on the wrist strap?

  • i bough a pair of these with black gloves, and white lettering from walmart for about 19 dollars so same price :) i love um!! also great for driving gloves in the colldd

  • Mechanix Wear gloves rock! I have several pairs for various applications, including my EDC. They hold up very well and you can't beat the price. And the dexterity factory is excellent! I'm with you--who needs the hard plastic knuckles on the back?

  • I just got some Head Multi-Purpose Sport Gloves and they're awesome.

  • Love the fit of Mechanix Original gloves, just HATE the over branding.

  • F the Battlestar Gallactica acoutroments, right on! Lol. Another great video by Nutnfancy.

  • "Both of these, dudes"

    "Various sources, dudes"

    "These are good, dudes"

  • @M4ST3RL1NKX88 Whats up with this comment, dude?

  • Oh man thanks for that. Was going to get charged some stuoed amount of money for these.

  • I've been wearing Mechanix gloves for a long time now, started wearing them when I was turning wrenches in the automotive repair industry. By far the best value in work gloves or light duty outdoor gloves

  • do u have SAP gloves there so cool im going to buy some soon

  • i was suprised 2 find these at my local PX recently, and at 16.99,i couldn't go wrong,so me and my brother got them...gonna test them for paintball soon and on hiking/camping this week...keep it rockin nutn

  • Lowes has them. I just bought some that gave you a free pair when you buy one. They came packaged together....for $20. I'm going to go back and pick up a couple more. Super Super deal.

  • Mechanix gloves very cool... until you burn your damn hand on open fire or grab the hot tube. Skin transplantation is what you got after. I've already got that sad experience. Tactical gloves must protect you hands and from fire, and from cold, and from impact. Buy a nomex gloves with hard knuckle and you'll never regret.

  • Like the emphasis on value in gear. We think alike.

  • Yeah baby, daddy like!

  • I wear Mechanix gloves.........for working on my hot rod

  • I love your reviews because they work for me. My mechanix covert gloves are awesome! I have the old style like your tan gloves. They've held up a very long time and have worn beautifully. Only issue is with the Velcro. You know how it comes off the strap. But still great gloves. Thanx tnp!

  • Mechanix gloves are excellent, I have seen many higher value gloves fail before these, lots of dudes wearing and liking them overseas.

  • Mechanix are some of the best gloves I have used. Great feel, good dexterity, great grip and just amazing all around gloves.... I sugest checking out the website.

  • They need to eliminate the tag, and the logos in the gloves, period.

Good gloves, but can be improved upon.

  • I must have battlestar galactica accoutremants!

  • I just got a blue pair of the Mechanix for paintball. Only like $15 at Advance Auto Parts.

  • Bought mine 5-days ago from Amazon for $16. These have to be the best gloves for multiple applications. Thanks NutnFancy for review. Rock on'. Metal =)

  • I bought some Wells Lamont gloves at Wally world, deerskin fingers, look a lot like clones of the Mechanix design, 10 bucks!!!

  • Mine just showed up. Love 'em!

I got these for $15 shipped on Ebay. But I was watching the same sellers auctions and the same pair sold for $10 shipped last night!

    Check EBAY!!

  • Dudes, Mechanix gloves on sale at Amazon today. :)

  • I have wide palms and short fingers (comparatively) and these gloves fit very well.

  • I just picked up these same gloves on Ebay for an insanely low price. Same seller had other models for the same stupid low prices. Somone out there got a steal on these gloves!

Can't wait to try them out..

  • Comment removed

  • Not sure if this is nationwide but I just got a pair at Meijers (Columbus, OH) on sale for $13! Great gloves - especially for that price.

I like the feel and the breath-ability reminds me of Under Armour (but more durable and afforable)!

  • Thank for the recommendation for the mechanics gloves. I have short fingers and it fits me.

  • Yeah I believe it is good for the gun but I am wonder what kind of glove is best for the heavy duty knife handeling and something like emergency window breaking for first responder? Thank you all.

  • The pistol in the back ground really brings the video together.

  • AWW! Poor nutnfancy has to sow his own tack gear now lol. Join the club dude.

  • i got these gloves at cabelas in camo for like 20 bucks and their awesome

  • Just purchase a pair of Mechanix Globas Part #MG-55-009 Black, on ebay for $16 dollars. Tried them out, and I gotta tell you they do rock! They are comfortable and fix perfectly. And for $16 shipped, I think is a great price.

  • here's a tip, since these gloves are so thin you can roll them up tight, throw a rubber band around them, and they'll fit pretty much anywhere.....your welcome

  • funny story, I bought a pair of mechanix gloves for work. When I put them on, the right hand glove was way bigger then the left, so I took them back and got a smaller size, and it turns out my right hand is a whole size smaller then my left, which I've never noticed before.

  • wow thats frustrating haha

  • Haha that is weird.

  • These gloves are amazing. I've gotten them super greasy then simply wiped them off. Try that with leather, and they'll absorb and hold the oil, then break down and fall apart. I've been using the same pair for over 2 years. Just don't try to weld in them, not enuf heat insulation. I can see getting the black or brown for tacticle purposes, but for wrenching, get something bright so they're not easily lost.

  • The thumb on the Mechanix gloves seem to be a tad too long in my opinion (maybe I just have short thumbs), but otherwise very well made and durable. Under Armour gloves fit like a second set of skin, but not quite as durable.

  • I love my mechanix wear gloves, but I have fat and short fingers - which makes it hard to find a pair that fit right. So what I do is put them on, mark the ends of my fingers, and cut the tips off about 1/8 to 1/4 inch short of my finger tips. this not only fixes the problem of extra bulk on the ends of the fingers that might get caught on something and snag or snare, but also gives me "dextrous control" with my fingertips. Example: using a cell phone with the gloves on.

  • That's a pretty cool idea! -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • got a pair of these for free for work. I bought another pair just for the range after using them to work on my car. they are ridiculously comfortable.

  • Hey just to let you guys know, I ordered a pair of these gloves, waiting for them...but if you decide to get some Mechanix Gloves, they do have a size chart. Do a search on Google for Mechanix Glove Sizing Chart pdf. You just print it out and make a fit. From what I've read, the size chart is very accurate.

  • Any particular type of gloves you recommend for use with a shotgun, because I don't know what's more annoying: trying to pick up and load the shells with bulky gloves on or trying to do it with painfully cold bear hands (since it always seems to be really cold whenever I go clay shooting). But I'll definitely keep these gloves in mind, thanks!

  • As a mechanic since 84 those "Mechanix" gloves really don't have the dexterity required for car work.....Working with your hands for years will build-up callouses(sp?) which will make for your 'Armor' on the hands. Try out some summer type motorcycle riding gloves. I have had a set that fit perfectly & have lasted a VERY long time.

  • free shipping YEEAH BABYy, YeaH!!!!lol

  • Love Mechanix!

  • Easier to replace a pair of gloves, then your hands

  • Thanks for the recommend. I ordered a pair of these and they arrived today. I have odd shaped hands and it's hard to find gloves that fit but these do and I like the grip I get on my 1911.

  • but here in Alabama it doesen't really get cold enough to use them except in Dec. through Feb. during hunting season.

  • id say about 30 degrees and lower is cold weather, i like to use a pair of OD wool gloves with the index finger and thumb cut off at the knuckle.

  • Mechanix gloves are some of the best gloves I have ever used for skydiving. Oakleys are my 2nd favorite right behind Hatch gloves.

  • What's your definition of "cold weather?"

  • Don't get those Mechanix wear gloves wet dude... they never dry out while you're wearing them and when they dry they usually turn crispy if you have any grime in them. DUde they also soak up oil or grease and never let it go.. surprizing for something intended to be used while working on cars and machinery. If you keep them clean they're great dude haha.

  • haha she boycotts all my tactical sewing

  • Weather's getting chilly here, and these gloves look perfect for shooting at my outdoor range. Thanks!

  • Rockin' gloves - BIG fan of TNP

  • i love the Mechanix Wear brand and i always way a size down for a tighter fit to reduce snagging. they due tend to wear down during heavy use and i should know, i worked at a tire store and went through a pair every week but i was testing so twas free and useing them at a tire shop not so good but great for what nutnfancy talkin about. :-P

  • Verry good video, but i think you where talking alot about other gloves then the ones you where doing a reviw. BTW ima big fan of yours ;D

  • I just wore my pair of Original Mechanix Gloves to the range, in the freezing SNOW!When Combined with a pair of Under Armour glove liners these gloves were surprisingly warm and I could still load my 10/22 mags, my M1 clips, and my .22LR revolver quickly and easily.I was shooting a lot of prone and my hands were in the snow a ton and they may have gotten wet but my hands stayed nice and warm even when the wind picked up!I got them for $18 at Lowes, GREAT BUY!I want another pair for the summer!

  • That's a fun video too! Enjoyed it. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • good stuff...i have been wearing different mechanix brand for about a year now and i love my gloves.

  • Hey.. Nice vid, after seeing this I bought the camo-version of the gloves, very nice!

    Gr Niels

  • i bought a pair of mechanix "fast fit" gloves today, I watched this video to listen to you talk about how cool they are. In fact im testing their dexterity by typing this our while wearing them right now!

    Great gloves, highly recomended

  • Good stuff

  • Hey you say the black ones are called Stealth? Isn't the COVERT line?

  • I have used the ironclad brand of gloves for a long time. I have no experience with their tac-ops model. I think they would be worth giving a try based on my experience with several of their other models. Thanks for your hard work nutnfancy!

  • I love u´r videos hell i just keep on saying ur really fun man!!!

  • I bought the 2 pack at k-mart that had one pair of the original and one pair of the fast fit and for 25.00 that is hard to beat!

  • what do u kno abt phenix gear tko gloves

  • Can't wait for the XD review...I've been wondering about the XD and the XDm.

  • The Mechanix gloves I saw at Walmart (auto) were the black ones. The Logo was white and really stood-out,so I couldn't use them for hunting. They were made of synth-leather.

  • i saw these mechanix wear insulated gloves that supposedly block wind you should try them out

  • Nutnfancy, shouldn't you be some kind of tactical gear marketing representative? Really.

  • @WarEffort He likes to be an independent reviewer, even though he reviewed for L.L. Bean for 10 years.

  • Its so funny he puts the word tactical in front of pretty much every noun.

  • You are in a "nut"y mood in this vid. I love it! You made me laugh with your little shaking "thumbs-up" motion. lol

    Good stuff.

  • I grabbed a pair at Lowes the other day for $14... they were black with gray lettering though..... little less "cool" than the stealthers.... but convenient pick up as I was just in the store grabbing a few other items and noticed them

  • Nutn didn't mention this but most if not all NASCAR pit crews use Mechanix brand gloves. The way I see it if you can change four tires in 13 seconds on a hot race car and not tear your hands up in that kind of environment, then that's a pretty good testimony to their dexterity and durability.

  • What's the song played at the intro?

    Thanks!

  • My squadron offered me Oakley SI Assault gloves, I took 2pr of these Mechanix instead. The oakleys are nice but have too much of the "Gear Queer" look to them. The mechanix are awesome and CHEAP in price---not quality.

    Dave - 898 MUNS

  • Chicks dig my "Battlestar Galactica" gloves.

  • A man that can sow, very good,a good review, try your gloves out in al kinds of situations.

  • you should do a vid on High value gloves.

Like Wiley X Tactical Assault Gloves Nomex and Kevlar Or the Oakleys.

Just because you dont like to spent an extra penny on gear dont mean other people dont. Theres a story that in Iraq a US solder took a Ak 7.62 round right at the knuckle. The Wiley Saved his hand. Broke his knuckle but saved his hand.

I know this was true because i was over when it happened. To him that must have been the best well spent 100 Buks.

  • Awesome vid man! I've been waiting for this one because you wear them often.

  • "Yeeeaaah baby. Daddy like"

    lmao

  • those are great gloves . Always wear them when working with my hands and shooting .

  • Got my gloves today and love 'em. Just so people know Amazon has a ton of different variations other that the ones nutn had, I didn't like the logo on his and found it a little obnoxious but they have plenty of different kinds I got woodland and they don't have a small logo on the wrist.

  • Very cool... Why is it that after every one of your videos I NEED something new? Thanks~

    On order :)

  • wow only 10min nutn must by sick

  • He's really feeling the press to get the information out..so many things to review, so little time. Some of it is going to be at the expense of production values, but Nutn is committed to getting the facts on gear (as he sees it) out. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Thank for the vid I'm getting my gloves tomorrow.

  • Whats on your belt in the opening picture?

  • The red things? I think those are his spare shotgun shells

  • You should try these gloves, they are called clean up glove corporation. They are similar to the mechanix gloves, except they have a knuckle gaurd for when u make a fist.

  • Great vid, and the 10min vid gets it done well. thanks again.

  • Thanks Nutnfancy! I have a couple pairs for garage work. They still stay wae fairly long, but most gloves will. Another note, I got a G26 today and am excited. My first GLOCK. Next I would like a G19. There's something atractive about something that is proven to work.

Anyhow, keep up your great work. First thing I do when I get on the internet is look for new vids from you.

  • Hey NUT, you do great vid's however, some of them drag-on just a lil to long about the simplest things. other then that keep up the good work.

  • That song is mac-daddy...

    anyone know what it is?

  • I got a pair a couple months ago at Target for gator hunting. they are great.

  • I've seen Mechanix Wear brand gloves at Wal-Mart for WAY cheap! They can be found in the automotive accessories aisles.

  • or close to the mens underwear and socks

  • this vid went by fast seriously!

  • just seeing if my computer could link XD

  • 1:16

  • I love gloves!!! Thanks for bringing the facts. But one talking point i think you should include is grip or traction. How are they for traction. Cause I hate to go and grab something and have to take off my glove just to turn a stubborn door knob. Anyway great vid, love the info, Keep rocken it Nutn.

  • keep replaying 2:20, funny stuff

  • Wup pkew! -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Well nutn just got me some new gloves!!!

  • Funny, just the other day I was looking at those exact gloves in a store and thinking what would Nutnfancy say....great vid. Keep'um coming.

  • You should try the mechanix impact gloves in coyote brown, I love em they have reinforced padding on the palm area as well, with AWESOME traction.

  • what is your take on the Oakley Standard Issue gloves. They have the carbon fiber reinforced knuckles.

  • Is their anything better than leather gloves for subzero temps?

  • every time i pass those up at the Auto zone or wherever, Ive always wondered.

Thanks, now im gonna by them!

  • Hey Nutn how is it going brother, I like your videos. When you order online how do you figure out what size is best for your hands. Do you just order and if they don't fit send them back for a different size. Does it cost extra to do that? You seem like you order online alot. Me I usually shop in stores with limited quality and selection. I am new to this online buying stuff and don't have alot of money to gamble with. I would appreciate any advice you may have.

  • The first time I went shooting, I came to the realization that the skin on my hands is about as soft and delicate as a baby's rear end. The web of my right hand between my thumb and forefinger had red marks and bruises from the GI-style grip safety and spur hammer on a Colt 1991A1, along with a number of other random nicks, cuts and pinched spots all over. A pair of decent shooting gloves would probably do my hands some good.

  • No gloves is the way to go.

  • Mechanix gloves are the best. The only thing we ever wore in the desert.

  • Nutn.. I too share your excitement for FREE SHIPPING BABY!!! LOL

  • A similar alternative would be paintball gloves, which have synthetic suede palms. I have obtained pairs from 10 - 20 dollars when they are on sale. However, there are some pairs that might be too brightly colored to use in sneaky situations.

  • dude you can totally get some models in camo as well. Me and the guys allllllwaaayys paintball in total camo and the speedballers laugh at us but do they ever get ambushed a lot in the woods.

  • I always found motocross gloves make a really good tac glove. keep up the good work nutn

  • those stealth mechanic gloves are expensive and don't have the best duribility, they might be good for shooting because its low wear on the gloves but any kind of high impact work will destroy the "synthetic suade" in a matter of minutes.

  • Right on dude, these gloves are medium duty at best. They work well for tactical stuff and mechanic work. I've used them for chainsaw work and splitting wood and they function fine there too. But I'd never take them to a masonry job.

  • gw nuttin shows you dont have to spend a week cutting a vid together for it to be good

  • I use mechanix gloves myself i love them +1!

  • gun looks like the one of half life 2

  • lol ya they do
