  • Ken is so smart and cute. I want to be his ho. I have nice breasts.

  • That's not fair, it's still a correct answer.

  • That girl is such a rake!

  • The category is "People who annoy you"

  • @BRexxors

    Ahhh South Park

  • That Rake Owes me some fuckin money

  • no hoe 4 u

  • What a winner

  • hoe was right too..

  • Rake?! Really Alex?? I think he was right, who calls someone a rake ?

  • Ken chose to say this. It’s worth $200 to him to be able to say ‘What is a hoe?’ on Jeopardy!”

You can find proof on his blog where he answers an email asking if he knew the answer was "Rake".

  • That's okay. "Hoe" was my first thought, too. XD

  • that was a $200 joke and worth every penny

  • Ahh made my day ;)

  • TOO FUNNY

  • But it could have been a hoe

  • "Suck my **** you stupid RAKE." Makes perfect sense to me, Lmao!

  • Comment removed

  • That's some bullshit. He was correct. Who calls a girl a rake?? NO ONE

  • @biznatch7777 They should have given him credit for that.

  • From Wikipedia:

A rake, short for rakehell, is a historic term applied to a man who is habituated to immoral conduct, frequently a heartless womanizer. Often a rake was a man who wasted his (usually inherited) fortune on gambling, wine, women and song, incurring lavish debts in the process. The rake was also frequently a man who seduced a young woman and impregnated her before leaving, often to her social or financial ruin.

  • @MrQueenie wikipedia isn't a reliable source, but the sources at the bottom of the page might be

  • @SadisticReviews I thin it's reliabe when they have the litle source links next to them which link to the bottom. Basically it reports and shows where it got its facts from

  • @xIegionx it can be, but not always

  • I wanna go to school in Utah

  • I'm gonna have to locate a local hooker and ask her how much she charges for a rake and what it is. Then I will come let you all know. Be back shortly. Hopefully without any STD's.

  • @Swingingmelodyman hahaha it actually is a term commonly used but not in the sense that jeopardy uses it! You might not want to ask any one for a rake ;)

  • Whats a hoe

  • What the fuck does a rake have to do with pleasurw seeking...

  • first guy was right damn it

  • @cloewen95 lmao exactly right?

  • Lol I thought it was a hoe too

  • Suck it trebeck

  • Me = -200 points so far...

  • That's unfair. He was actually correct.

  • @Swingingmelodyman

He was. The funniest part is that I said it right before he did. What the fuck is a Rake?

  • i thought it was hoe too

  • i said the exact same thing when the question was asked

  • what is a hoe?

  • BEST ANSWER EVAR!!!!!!

  • What the hell is a Rake? is that the spelling? hahaha

    Hoe? hahaha

  • u can tell Al just loves those rakes

  • Who the hell didn't think it was hoe?

  • i wanna go to utah lol

  • The book "The Catcher in the Rye" uses the term 'rake' as a whore, or an immoral pleasure seeker. It's an old meaning for the word, so you don't typically hear it as much anymore.

  • Something tells me he'll still win.

  • I would have said the exact same thing...

  • Even Urban Dictionary called this definition of rake bullsh*t.

  • Google says - rake: A fashionable or wealthy man of dissolute or promiscuous habits.

  • Alex: This term for a long handled gardening tool can also mean an immoral pleasure seeker.

    Me: A Hoe! :D

    Alex: Rake is correct.

    Me: :(

  • hoe makes more sense.

  • ha i would have said the same thing

  • Comment removed

  • Wait, my and my mom were watching this, and when Alex asked the question, we were both like, "Ho?" So, Ken's not in the wrong here.

  • i would have protested the question....since it did have two valid answers and that is against the format for jeopardy

  • Hoe makes more sense than rake. :P

  • Lol at Al trying to salvage some swag by acting all cool about knowing it was rake. No doubt Ken already knew it was rake but really, what's he got to lose?

  • Ho is not equal to a hoe.

  • "Rake" means womanizer. So almost a male equivalent to "hoe".

Thumbs up so everybody will stop asking the same damn question.

  • @FalledAgain Not just a womanizer - drinking and gambling apply as well :)

  • @FalledAgain but how ambiguous is that. They could've easily switched it around.

  • I remember watching this. The funniest part was that I said it right before he did.

  • What type of immoral pleasure does a rake seek?

  • What the fuck is a rake?

  • @lolroflstomp It's a garden tool and an immoral pleasure seaker. Did you not watch the video?

  • But he is right ? why is the answer wrong ? -.-

  • When you're $14,000 ahead of both the other contestants, you just stop giving all kinds of fucks.

  • isnt he right though?

  • pity points for Al because he's a hoe

  • Rake??? Never heard that insult in school...my how times have changed.

  • @cozmosmashzu stop being a rake

  • How the fuck is a rake a immoral pleasure seeker?

these dumb cunts should have gave the guy points

    motherfucking scammers

  • @bernie23232323232323 Learn to English.

  • BUT WHO WAS RAKE

  • For all of you asking what a rake is, you obviously don't know how jepordy works. A rake is "a garening tool or immoral pleasure seeker."

  • Comment removed

  • Stop whining about hos, you dumb rakes.

  • Rakes Progress

    William Hogarth (1697-1764)

    A Rake's Progress (1733)

  • what the fuck is rake....? (the immoral meaning)???

  • @leivadaros Don't know if anyone told u yet, but a rake means a heartless womanizer

  • @moonlightangel90 thanx for the reply no one had answered be4 you :P

  • @leivadaros No prob :D

  • @leivadaros

    a drinker in shakespeare

  • @leivadaros It's a much older term that's fallen out of vogue.

  • @leivadaros

Back in the day, rake used to mean pimp, player, womanizer, a Rick James sort of person. So it's funny now that we call these women hoes, because rakes and hoes go together in parties and in garden sheds...

  • Rake is correct. Hoe is not. I knew it. The contestant who answered knew it.. Jennings certainly knew it, he just didn't pause long enough to the dismiss the obvious and obviously wrong, ho. BTW hoe is the garden tool, ho isn't a gardening tool and ho is money seeker not a pleasure seeker.

Rake, as it's being used here, is somewhat obscure so you're not dumb for not know it but if you don't learn from your mistakes you soon will be.

  • @dimbulb23 That's actually incorrect. A hoe is a gardening tool, and a hoe is also a woman. It's ebonics for the word "whore".

  • I am a rake. I am a culture, not a costume.

  • @nhavas You are a wreck.

  • What the hell is a RAKE then?!

  • Since when the fuck is someone who seeks immoral pleasure a rake?

  • i love that show

  • im a rake, and i find this disgustingly offensive.

  • The guy who said rake would have said "hoe" too if Ken didn't say it first.

  • Its so obvious. Who the hell would say rake!?

  • its true... i dont understand why he got it wrong

  • A ho is not an immoral pleasure seeker. They do it for the money.

  • WTF? a rake???

  • @Nitroglycerine1000 A rake is a person who seduces people, it usually means a male who seduces women, but it doesn't have to.

Also, yes, it is a better answer as opposed to "ho". "Ho", of course, means "prostitute", who is someone who uses sex to make a living. Very rarely does this practice give pleasure to said prostitute, and just about no one gets into the profession for said reason.

I hate to sound snobbish, but yes, "rake" is a better answer.

  • @MrEdLoop You ruined my mood of making a comment on that.

  • @AmeanAF Sorry.

  • @MrEdLoop Actually, several psychological studies show that prostitutes gain pleasure from the work. Exhibitionist, nymphomaniacs and so on.

  • @Draguling No doubt there are exceptions. But one cannot deny that in almost all cases it's financial, not emotional needs that puts someone in such a line of work.

  • I bet A Pimp Named Slickback wrote that question.

  • WTF? HOW WAS HE WRONG?

  • who the fuck would have said rake... honestly.

  • @XxSPM3xX the guy who said rake :)

  • a hoe makes more sense

  • thumbs up if you thought the answer was hoe too lol

  • smart ass!

  • I think the word "immoral" is what makes his answer wrong. Whatever a "ho" is, immorality isn't really part of the definition—unless you want to get into the whole slut-shaming thing.

"Rake" fits much better, because rakes are not only promiscuous but also characterized by their lack of responsibility and their willingness to hurt people to get what they want. (BTW, quick check of the OED shows recorded uses of this definition well into the 1990s). Also, pretty sure he's joking.

  • I saw no porn while searching 'Rake' on google (SafesearchOFF) But when I searched Hoe..

  • I thought hoe too <_<

  • the answer is rake, but not ho....

this is suck a jeopardy question :s

  • Who in the world would have said "rake" before "ho"? The point is to win... that would be the first correct answer for anyone to think to say. Dumb show.

  • I am going to Utah for my education.

  • Oh I see now

if the answer was "immoral recipient of pleasure", that would be a ho.

  • ""A rake, short for rakehell, is a historic term applied to a man who is habituated to immoral conduct, frequently a heartless womanizer. Often a rake was a man who wasted his (usually inherited) fortune on gambling, wine, women and song, incurring lavish debts in the process. ""

    --wikipedia

did not know that, I would have said hoe too

  • LAME. everyone was thinking hoe.

  • ALEX TREBEK IS A CANADIAN HOMOSEXUAL ASS-PLUGGER.

  • Thumbs up to BOTH Top Comments.

  • IT'S PIKACHU

  • Whats a bitch?

  • NEW VIDEO:

    "Obama QUITTING! Going on JEOPARDY!

    CLICK ObamaSnippetsDotCom

  • lol I knew the answer, prob because I read books from the 19th century but yeah thats what they used to call men who slept around with alot of women.

  • I love how Trebek does a double take and is all like "Nope, not the answer on the card..............wait a minute....did he just say what I thought he said??!" Lol.

  • They totally set him up! LOL

  • wtf a rake?!

  • I was very sure that it was hoe.

  • Look at the score; that is ownage!

  • from the title i thought it was a dildo xD

  • a rake is an immoral pleasure seeker?

fine, if you wanna use it that way, go ahead, no ones judging you

  • @Rapter57 I use my rake to get where the sun don't shine.

  • hoe makes more sense -,-

  • Thumbs up if you still think "hoe" is the right answer.

  • @TheTicknor ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • Hoe was totally valid

  • i guessed hoe too....

  • This easily proves that Ken Jennings isn't the smug jerk that some Jeopardy fans think he is.

  • RAKE????? HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE

  • @sgprailfan A rake is another term for someone who is addicted to gambling but, it has not been used in over 100 years so hoe would be correct. :D

  • Is that Ken Jennings?

  • Since WHEN THE FUCK has "rake" been synonymous with "immoral pleasure-seeker?"

Hoe was obviously a much more correct answer.

  • @cotss2012 It's an antiquated term. I haven't heard anyone actually use that term in everyday speach.... It was used to refer to a man who was a womanizer, usually. The modern equivalent would propably be "player".

  • @cotss2012 agree

  • I would have said hoe...

  • Jeopardy is correct because of the double standard regarding sex. A ho/hoe puts out a lot. That means she's an immoral pleasure PROVIDER, because all women obviously only lie back and think of England while having sex and all men are clearly only concerned with their own pleasure.

  • i can watch this 50 times and laugh every time

  • the sad thing is that Ken has won 72 times in a row...

  • I bet the rakes seek immoral pleasure with the hoes!

  • he should of gotten xtra points lol

  • MAN YOU SUCH A RAKE

  • A rake is also known as an immoral pleasure seeker? I've honestly never heard that before.

  • rake: a dissolute or profligate person, especially a man who is licentious

  • A Rake? Really?

  • The fuck is a rake?

  • "Ahaha! We are more sophisticated, and must laugh at this tomfoolery! What a silly man, completely ridiculous!"

"I was right you ignorant fucks."

  • @AliaEntertainment Well if you campare their scores, i would have to believe he was right lol

  • I said hoe also.

  • rake? how is a fucking rake an immoral pleasure seeker?

  • did he say hoe or hose?

  • They're both correct.

  • I truly think that Ken should've tossed the red review flag on that one

  • language changes, when's the last time you ever heard someone described as a rake,hoe/ho was the better answer, funny too.

  • that was set up, this guy "KEN" was a setup, he even tried to show them up on air that this gameshow is a "show" and not a competition, he was the longest running winner on the show's history, i guess when he tried to get out of the deal they would not let him as he brought in the highest ratings in decades, so in his genius he gave an answer that totally made no sense, but was the exact answer for the next question, but still nobody caught it, there's still no proof, so fuck it, fuck you

  • Hoe was totally my guess too.

  • I actually guessed the same thing.

Since *everyone* responded to that, I say the judges ought to have given it to him. ;D

  • "woooow.. woooooow.. they teach ya that in Utah, huh?"

No, they teach you that in real life where people don't pretend like that ISN'T the first blatantly obvious answer that comes to mind.

  • @CRUSH3Rdlux Someone obviously never taught you this concept called "joking around"...

  • I thought it was hoe too...

  • Whats a rebublican?

  • @baldurus1 you sir made my day

  • WTF is a rake? Hoe really does sound like a better answer

  • Rake... I'll believe the right answer is Ra"P"e

  • TO BE FAIR

  • I would have said hoe to...

  • its immoral, not immortal. but still, wtf

  • i gave that rake a hoe, rakes loves hoes

  • whats a hoe , lol holy shit dude

  • Can someone tell me how rake is an immortal pleasure seeker?
