It's weird cause I know this song is about a lover's suicide but the main tune part (1:29-2:11) sounds more like... inspirational or something along those lines... :P I dunno, I think that's just me though~

I guess she could theoretically be the boy, but the song is based on the play, it's not a direct translation of it. If they had wanted it to be a boy and a girl, they could have easily used Len. They chose to Rin and Miku sing it. Two girls.

Unless you're uncomfortable that two girls fell in love with each other and strangled each other while they were naked.
