For something as common and old as acne, I'm surprised there isn't any cure yet. Acne is not normal, and not natural at any age. People who have it suffer a great deal from it. I have suffered from acne scarring since I was 18. I feel disgusting, my boyfriend tells me i'm beautiful but NEVER says I have good skin (because clearly I don't). I would love one day to be told I have beautiful skin. I have scars on my cheeks and temples. What's worse is I live in Australia where we have a really good health care system yet the one thing not covered is cosmetic surgery. I know form personal experience how devastating acne can be and know that just "washing your face" is often not enough. My acne is all hormone related. So, my best suggestion is to get your hormone levels tested- especially (both men and women) get tested for testosterone. It's not an expensive test and can save you a lot of heartache. Good luck!

I suffered from boils more than white and black heads in my teenage years. For my own ignorance at not understand the difference I payed the price with acne scars. @BunnysiEat I had bad acne when I was 15 (talking 10 years ago!) but a drug the doctor gave me calmed it right down, then I almost had the opposite problem and had to apply constant moisturiser to stop my face drying out. Might be worth asking your doctor..

Another tip: fancy face washes and creams do not always work as in the adverts. They are little better than simple soap anyway, but remember to only wash your face 2-3 times a day, if you wash 10 times a day you will dry your skin out and it will react by producing more oil. I speak from experience I had acne for more than 5 years.

I have acne and only way to reduce it is to take expensive A-Vitamins and use special cleaning gel... luckily my face is not that horrible. i have scars here and there but there is actually nothing that i can do to get rid of it permanently at the moment. If nothing seems to be working for cystic acne. You need to cure it from the inside out. I would try juicing. It can get expencive but, I used to have cystic acne and nothing worked, went to tons of dermatologists and all they did was try to sell me something. I'm not talking like juice you buy from the store. You need to buy a juicer and juice fresh organic veggies and drink two glasses of juice a day. Google it. You can find tons of info on the internet for juicing to cure acne

I now have acne because my mother was irritated of 3 little blackheads that would go away like nothing with clearasil she gave me a "facial" and it spread and spread and it wont go away it only gets worse and she is blaming it on me she says i dont wash my face when i do everyday lesson here is dont let anyone touch your face not even your mother it may look like it worked but in a day or two it will come back to haunt you for a very long time its been 9 months since that day it only gets worse

Accidentally, I met a natural healer, who recommended me a tea from agrimony and equisetum. I know form personal experience how devastating acne can be and know that just "washing your face" is often not enough. My acne is all hormone related. So, my best suggestion is to get your hormone levels tested- especially (both men and women) get tested for testosterone. It's not an expensive test and can save you a lot of heartache. Good luck!

lol stop tryng to cure acne by just washing your face, or stopping eating certain foods. I read that it's caused by candida, a pathogen, but perhaps other pathogens too. Also that the immune system has a hard time distinguising candida from certain foods, causing an allergic response. Having lots of good bacteria in the gut helps, and also cellulase enzymes, as well as making sure you get all of your essential amino acids.

All of you that have acne are allergic to something in your diet. Try this for 3 weeks and let me know what happens. Cut out ALL DAIRY, cut out NUTS, and any other potential food items you think may be allergic to. @cristofolon you're definitely allergic to something. Have you had an allergy test done? I cut out milk, all nuts, bananas and all of my cystic acne disappeared. Get an allergy test done. You may be severely sensitive to something in your environment.

They say that food does NOT cause acne... Food does not, but food ALLERGIES can. I used to suffer from severe cystic acne from the time I was 11 years old to about age 22 (I am 25 now). You name it, I have tried it. I had some hope after I received my second round of accutane treatment (2 pills a day for 9 months) and I had clear skin... for a few weeks. Then I got tested for food allergies, took a two week food challenge (wheat, dairy, sweet potato, and ginger) and have been clear since.

Acne worse scars are the emotional ones :/ this is working for me, some lady I met said it will cure it, been doing it for a week and all I can say is wow, I might patent it and sell it XD. In a coffee cup put some organic honey with some bicarbonate and lemon, mix it up and put it in your face, she said for 15mins but I always forget and leave it for hours lol. Then, you wash it off.

I suffered from boils more than white and black heads in my teenage years. For my own ignorance at not understand the difference I payed the price with acne scars. There was one boil that wouldn't go away for basically a year. I finally took drastic measures and burned a hot needle popping it. No I have a nasty scar there instead of a boil. I'm 22 now and I still have pizza face. I"m going to get laser care to remove the pits as well as the overall redness.

@BunnysiEat I had bad acne when I was 15 (talking 10 years ago!) but a drug the doctor gave me calmed it right down, then I almost had the opposite problem and had to apply constant moisturiser to stop my face drying out. Might be worth asking your doctor..

Another tip: fancy face washes and creams do not always work as in the adverts. They are little better than simple soap anyway, but remember to only wash your face 2-3 times a day, if you wash 10 times a day you will dry your skin out and it will react by producing more oil. I speak from experience I had acne for more than 5 years.

I have acne and only way to reduce it is to take expensive A-Vitamins and use special cleaning gel... luckily my face is not that horrible. i have scars here and there but there is actually nothing that i can do to get rid of it permanently at the moment. Yes acne is not nice to look at but that doesnt mean u should spend the rest of your teenage years at home... go have fun... u may have problems getting a girlfriend but dont be sad.. one day u will find a girlfriend.

I hate spots and i have been through this myself i tried all sorts of things, but the solution to this problem was Diane-35.

@thecookie1990. If your bf rly cares for u then he would look pass the acne and see u for u. I used to have acne, but now it's like 97% scars. Best acne treatment out there is "acne bootcamp" 100% will work. But it's pricey.

If nothing seems to be working for cystic acne. You need to cure it from the inside out. I would try juicing. It can get expencive but, I used to have cystic acne and nothing worked, went to tons of dermatologists and all they did was try to sell me something. I'm not talking like juice you buy from the store. You need to buy a juicer and juice fresh organic veggies and drink two glasses of juice a day. Google it. You can find tons of info on the internet for juicing to cure acne
