  • Saw them last Summer. Super fun.

  • This a velvet underground cover. And a pretty damn good one at that

  • i wish this song was on Classic Rock radio stations

  • Thanks for putting all these songs together. LOVE THIS!!!!!

  • Hoboken represent!!!!!!

  • I know that guitar sound, it's Clapton's "woman tone" from the days of Cream -- bridge pickup, treble most of the way down, moderate distortion -- Randy California in Spirit used it effectively too

  • Kinda sounds like the Bongos...!

  • Holy shit! I was just going through my itunes and wondered who the hell are "The Feelies" and what are they doing in my library? Five minutes later I'm proclaiming them gods! I just bought all three albums. Okay, now I need a t shirt.

  • Tsugaheterophylla, Mo Tucker would stand whilst playing the drums so her beat was deliberately offbeat or "out of balance." This is a good cover and if you're loooking for other VU type bands then check out The Dream Syndicates Days of Wine and Roses

  • Three people in youtube should get some musical education.

  • Thank god for I have discovered this band !!!

  • Can't go wrong with a VU cover, but this is kind of weak. The backbeat is out of balance with the rest of the band, it's just annoying. Vocals are weak too. Overall it's colorless.

  • @Tsugaheterophylla I agree, it's really bland. And the solo in the middle is 'too much' like the original, they don't showcase their own personality into it, just sounds like a sily putty version of an amazing song.

  • i was most disappointed with their '90/ or '91 release. Sorry if it's your kind of thing, but it didn't work for me. The vigour they had in previous incarnations isn't present (for me, anyway). Cconsidering they were such a great band, I'm open to re-experiencing their sound. Any suggestions ?

  • MattHatter your comment is as lame as your attempt at making a pun on a certain insane literary character. The original "groove" was at almost the exact same tempo, and the beat was the same. The vocals were a bit less spoken and a bit more sung, if that makes them weak then I will submit it is a matter of preference. Glad you liked it even though your comments were the exact opposite of like. Do you have an opinion? Because it sounds like you are saying it sucked, BUT you liked it.

  • VU always a very good foundation to start from for all things punk/avant-garde ...

  • Maybe I would like this version better if this was THEIR song, but since I dig the slower groove of the Velvet's original version so much, it's a bit of a struggle translating it with a early '80s pop beat. And his vocals pretty weak all in all. Still good and I like it.

  • Try BAN, MOD GIRLS, ManUFactorTV, fantastic pop tune and scooters video!

  • a song for every time

  • a song for every time

  • I just turned the volume to 11. i highly recomend it.

  • I'd hafta go w the YU original, but outside of the overly-repititious percussion it's another great track from a decade of mostly rubbish. WTF happened to them in '90 ?

  • @DjangoMozart they continued to be awesome. look it up.

  • snatcheroo kazoonheight 24

  • once again im the last guy at the party but at least i got here!

  • Sorry, but I don´t like this version... There is nothing left of rock&roll. It´s just some blablabla.... in my ears ;)

Check out Velvet Underground live in SF in 1969!

  • @Tommy7222 You are so cool.

  • @shatchett0 ...yep, but this cover version isn´t... and maybe I should say that I wasn´t there^^

  • great song

  • the re-releases come with bonus download tracks....very cool!

  • I just ordered them and have tickets to see them in Hoboken too

  • i'm hoping the re-formed band make it to the west coast - please, pretty please :)

  • I missed the reunion, where did they play?

They were awesome in concert back in the day

  • They are still playing! I'll see them opening up for Sonic Youth in Boston in November.

  • That's great news about the re-releases and about time too!

  • You know, they've just re-released The Feelies first three albums, including their 1980 classic, "Crazy Rhythms". They're all terrific albums and trying to find them until now has been almost impossible. Thank God they're out!

  • The Feelies rock like beasts.

I saw their show in Chicago. Incredible.

  • @tjchicago

    Blast from the past!

I have seen them several times, but at least 20 years ago.So they still perform?

  • @hildaatje just saw then tonight. daniel street, milford,ct. they were incredible!

  • so good.

  • Better than the original! I Love The FEELIES!!!!!

  • FEELIES!

this was the first of their record I bought... listened to it for weeks over and over. Afterwards discovered the others. I hope they will tour europe any time soon...

  • At the risk of anathema, I still maintain that this cover eclipses the original

  • That is anathema, you'll burn in hell for eternity! But it is an extraordinary cover from an excellent band

  • This must be the best cover of the VU classic... Check out our attempt on my profile page
