i think it's richard because he did have long hair before as we saw in 3.20, when Ben ran into him in the jungle...and i also was mad when locke pusshed that damned wheel! but, i'm pretty sure we'll find out what it looks like before the show ends. also, i think it was some sort of egyptian because it has the long hair, and cat-like pointed ears. the clothing looks like an egyptian, and the statue is wearing sandals as we saw in the season 2 finale

This is a weird guess, but if it was a statue of anyone we knew, it wouldn't be sawyer, it would be richard. he's got egyptian eyeliner (lol) and he is immortal, so he could be centuries old, and maybe some people decided to build a statue of him. and we've never actually seen richard's feet, so he might have four toes

I agree with it most likely being richard. Although I think it's possible that it's not a statue of someone we actually know...It could very well be just a statue with a story behind it, and definetly Richard is connected to it, if not -is- it. I really don't think it's going to be egyptians. There are lots of aspects (from what I can tell) of this statue that point to it not being egyptian... perhaps a culture that is a little more obscure like the people from Atlantis?

I Believe its the Egyptian god of the Dead/Afterlife.. Anubis...Richard looks very much like he could pass as an ancient egyptian...also..the hieroglyphics that are seen thoughout the show...another reference to egypt...how about HORUS (also another egyptian god of the afterlife) goodspeed...seems too coincidental to me..also..the egytian ank that was shown this episode as well
