  • 4:55 (spits out soylent green) WHAAAAAAA!?

  • Gentleman, you can't fight in here...this is the war room! I love Dr. Strangelove...

  • NO WIRE HANGERS!!!

  • GO TOM HANKS

  • sorry i mean 59 is reference by lion king...scar says this to the hyenas...or something similiar

  • To Have and Have Not

Lauren Bacall said to Humphrey Bogart

If you need anything just whistle. You do know how to whistle, don't you Steve, you just put your lips together and blow.

  • Forget it guys, It's AFItown

  • hello gorgeous should be higher . funny gil is definately one of the best movies ever.

  • I have somewhat mixed opinions for the 2001: Space Odyssey at #78, "Open the pod-bay doors, Hal". He repeats this a couple of times before Hal finally responds, which probably made it more significant, but I feel that Hal's Quote after that, "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that." was better, more dramatic and sinister

  • Isn't the joke with "Who's on first" the story that Raymond keeps on telling all the time? (Rain Man)

  • @Prechtl91 it was abbott and costello who came up with it.

  • @Becca300 I know but Raymond tells the story all the time, that's what I wanted to say.

  • I'm still waiting for them to accept "You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack" into the AFI Top 100 Movie Quotes because HOW MANY people recite that line..?

  • 2:14 IS HILARIOUS HOLY SHIT

  • ATTICA ATTICA

  • "I'm the king of the world!" should actually be higher IMO, a lot higher. You can mock it all you want, but that scene may be the best use of that line. Even over The Simpsons.

  • hmm #91 isn't that also like a part of Rush Hour 3?

  • you should have put the number in the corner as the clip played to make it flow better. Thr stoping and shownig que cards is a little distracting

  • it should be "go ahead, make my day" in dirty harry

  • Comment removed

  • @CyberChick2011

    umm, yeah, fuck that :)

  • @CyberChick2011 noooo. x) nooooooooooooooo

  • @CyberChick2011 harry potter deserves that title and that the way it is going to stay.

  • 7:16 , so thats where the name for that COD4 level came from "no fighting in the war room"

  • "Say Hello To My Little Friend" at #61?

  • I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.

  • What year was Dracula made? I'm talking about the original, not the Bram Stoker's Dracula remake in 1992.

  • I totally thought gone with the wind was going to be "frankly my dear. I don't give a damn!!"

  • 97 SHOULD BE 1

  • I'M THE KING OF THE WORLD !!! WOOO ! Leo <3 TITANIC !!! <3

  • there's also a film called "shadow of the vampire" with the same vampire the film was based on Nosferatu

  • Fantastic work!

  • ATTICA!! ATTICA!! ATTICA!!

  • great job!! how...meticulous of you :D

  • IT'S ALIVE!!!

  • HERE"S JOHNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "its in the hole! its in the hole!" caddyshack lol

  • LOL!!! Whos on first

  • 3:46 - Ermm....it WAS the aeroplanes, old chap.

  • 7.40 for... youll find out

  • why no 93

  • "Here's Johnny!"

    That's what I never understood

His name in the movie is Jack

  • @sakura5739 It's not about his name actually, he's making a "cruel" joke. Ed McMahon introduced Johnny Carson on The Late Show by saying "Heeere's Johnny!" for years. Jack was trying to scare her so when he had enough room to pop his face in he introduced himself that way. I admit it doesn't make a lot of sense if you aren't familiar with the show, but rest assured, that's what he's referring to.

  • @MagzWLGB

    Oh thank you

Don't I feel stupid right now

  • @sakura5739 Mp; and no need to. :)

  • @sakura5739 "Here's Johnny" was a line of introduction for the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

  • ATTICA!

  • Al Pacino is one crazy motherfucker.

  • soo...who's on first?

  • @FaRrOwFoXlol

That's what I was telling you!!

  • @FaRrOwFoXlol Who.

  • @MagzWLGB yeah that's what i asked, who's on first?

  • "refund! refund!"

  • What about: "We'll always have Paris" ?

  • YO ADRIAN!

  • So, folks, what is the difference between the "best," the "worst," and the "cheesiest" lines??

  • I wish they would disallow quotes taken from reality and only stick with ones that were truly fiction

  • was the grounds keeper in caddy shack tom hanks

  • @nightofhalo Bill Murray.

  • who's on 1st??? classic!

  • caddyshack ftw

  • 69 was referenced by scar in the lion king

  • @grownmanown How so?

  • Well, a boy's best friend is his mother.

  • ATTICA! ATTICA! gosh, gotta love pacino.

  • RIP Leslie Nielson. Surely you shall be missed...and we'll never stop calling you Shirley =)

  • Great job! Great to see Leslie Nielson..Don't call me Shirley! Thanks for putting this together..great movies. Going to see part 2.

  • I found it a bit odd that you begun the video for "movie quotes" with a clip from a silent film :L

  • Poltergeist is a classic.

    Poltergeist II is good.

    Poltergeist III is a disappointment.

  • YO ADRIAN

  • i feel the need too

  • Go #67!

  • some of these seem to be just sayings not really deserving of the best 100 film quotations

  • @jakehr3 well, some of them were started by these movies. the fact that they have been added to common vernacular shows that they were really good lines.

  • "There's no crying in BASEBALL!"

    God I love that movie!

  • Muito bom mesmo!!!

  • Excellent video!

I have a problem with the AFI's choosing of Apollo's "Houston, we have a problem." The phrase was used and popularized decades before the movie, so I don't believe rightful credit belongs to the film.

  • U did a great job! Thank u. :)

  • 76 is my favoite :D

  • Wow. This video must have taken you forever to make! I salute you.

  • Haha, 48th was awesome. XD

  • i find it funny how #100 was the most recognizeable and iconic.....(i havent heard rosalind's quote in my life!)

  • King kong aint got shit on me- training day. oh and i knew what 68 was when i saw the cover.

  • dang the jazz singer is high up on here

  • number 77 is really a spoiler for those who havent watch the movie.

  • lmao @ #91

  • "AHHH Im a Man"

    "well nobody's perfect:

    O_O

    THE END

  • oh the irony in the line 'wait a minute...you ain't heard nothin yet!!"

  • Thank you, these clips are great! It will probably surprise a lot of people to learn the origin of so many common phrases in everyday vernacular. The only thing that would make this perfect would be to see the years in which these films came out. Again, they're great.

  • Great to hear all these classic lines in one sitting. Thanks for the time and effort.

  • what is the movie with vampire on beginning

  • @TomySlug

    Nosferatu (1922)

  • @Jellyfish60 / DRACULA ? i think

  • @TomySlug Nosferatu. Made in 1920' s era. Very scary. Remade several times, most recently with Willem

    Dafoe.

  • @mickbrian1231 thats not a remake.

  • @TomySlug It's Nosferatu, you uneducated fuck.

  • @Wyndrax over the line

  • probably frankestine

  • "one morning i shot an elephant in my pajamas, how he got in my pajamas i dont know"

  • ITS ALAIVEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm sorry i'm afraid I can't do that dave

  • You should give each movie a bit more time to show us what it means, even if the video had to have 5 parts.

  • damn i hate katie scarlett !!!

  • WHOA! Spoiler Alert on number 64.

  • great movies

  • 51 FTW!

  • "I'm a man."

    "Well, nobody is perfect."

    Best line ever!

  • Hello gorgeous:D

  • 51 is awesome, dont you think so PUNK?!

  • AFI needs to update their list with newer memorable quotes from films in the past several years. examples:

"I sure wish I knew how to quit you." -Brokeback Mountain

    "This is Sparta!" -300

"I drink your milkshake! I drink it up!" -There Will Be Blood

"Call It Friendo." -No Country For Old Men

"This city deserves a better class of criminal, and I'm gonna give it to them." -The Dark Knight

    "It's a Bingo!" -Inglourious Basterds

  • @DodgerFan1988

Agreed on all counts. ESPECIALLY the last one! :D

  • 61 is my boy

  • Gentlemen, you cant fight here, This is the War Room! - Dr Strangelove.

  • Comment removed

  • "Louie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." It's astonishing how many great quotes came from Casablanca.

  • 68 priceless!!!!!

  • what? no "Game over, man!" ?!

  • Tombstone "I'm your huckleberry" needs to be on this list.

  • @1046RougeCop it defs needs to be. that was the best line in an entire movie filled of best lines. amazing.

  • thay missed one from robocop "i'll buy that for a dollar"

  • @zippypaboob I always thought it'd be, "Dead or alive, you're coming with me."

  • hold on just one second, are they serious "hello gorgeous!" from funny girl only got 81?!that's ridiculous that iconic line gave us, the movie going public, the iconic barbra streisand!!!

  • GWTW only 59? o wow.. there must be tons of other great movies

  • @blckbooty GWTW has two even more famous lines that I'm sure will rank in the top 10 or 20 -- "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!" and "After all, tomorrow is another day!"

  • Now I wanted to watch more Who's on First...

  • 7:47 :P

  • "Surely you can't be serious"

"I am serious. And don't call me Shirley"

You can't make this stuff up.

  • o my favorite line

"it was beauty killed the beast"

    such an awsome quote

  • One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I don't know.

  • HASTA LA VISTA, BABY!

  • "Hey Adrian, it's Rocky!" LOL

  • @LH287 i thot AFI were going to do the 'yo Adrian! we did it!' cuz i thot it was more iconic.. o well

  • "There's no crying in baseball!" XD My grandfather told me that when he coached my Little League team when I was 12.

  • *slam slam&

    (heres johnny)

  • not bad

  • ohhhhh^^ number 91... that dialouge is used in this bush-videoXD

  • my favorite line

    from army of darkness:

    "this.... is my BOOMSTICK!!!!!"

  • @dingaling24 Yes!

  • "I'm the king of the world!" is one of the worst lines in a James Cameron movie ever, including Avatar.

  • Comment removed

  • @Pumbaelo i do agree it is overused

but avatar was a pretty good movie

but everyone has their own opinion :)

  • Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the WAR ROOM!

  • @orsonwelles23 I have to admit it's one of the best lines ever uttered by one of the greatest actors ever Peter Sellers.

  • @orsonwelles23 Dr. Strangelove rocks!

  • When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk-

-the good the bad and the ugly

    The Horror, the horror-Apocalypse Now

    Nobody will hire you-Tootsie

    Everybody could list dozens more

  • I think Near Dark's " How do you like em' apples" should have been here

  • number 76 is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SkyKnight251 Oh hell ya!!! T2 baby!!!

  • My favorite is #81

    "Hello, gorgeous"

  • Couldn't find the film clip for Knute Rockne?

  • 64 is simply genius

  • The AFI really need to update this list. Do the Right thing, Groundhog Day, Clerks and the Big Lebouski have some of the best new movie quotes, and aren't on the list.

  • could you say those?

  • this isnt their real list. you can find the real one on line

  • number 50 should be number 1 actually

  • number 76 should be in top 10

  • You can ask yourself a question... Do i feel lucky. Well do ya punk!

Say Hello to my little friend!

  • Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.

  • @moviegal6000 I thought the line for that movie should be "Oh captain, my captain..."

  • another good line. just a great movie in whole!

  • @ThaddeusRobe i think the 'Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary" is more iconic than "o captain, my captain!" simply b/c the first quote was essentially the base of the entire movie - they needed to become GREAT. and they did, in their small ways. so i think that's why that quote was chosen - it basically is the whole movie. but the 'o captain, my captain!' is a great line too ;)

  • lol! Surely you can't be serious

I am serious, and don't call me Shirley

  • Great!!

  • 68 should be number 1

  • thats what i thought. it should at least be in the top 10

  • 54,53 are the best XD

  • Do ya feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?

  • "They're here!" RIP Heather

  • BEST one 6:30 awsome movie too!!

  • Hahaha, number 96 was hilarious!

  • attica! attica!

  • I love all these quotes, but #87 I have to say is my favorite

"Swayer, your going out a youngster but you've GOT to come back a star!"

    C'mon! Who can't love that?

  • ..HERE'S JOHNNY!!

  • Ahaha 7:14 (#64) Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room! LOLLLL!!
