since i was born to be a lover of nature... I am so delighted that nowadays, building structure may it be commercial or residential are more concern about preserving nature bat its best.....
im a greenkeeper never thought id say it but ive turned into a bit of a enviroment lover so I think venturing into this field will be a big fun future
Enlightening :) Now I know deeper what Landscape Architecture is. I didn't know about this scope 'till recently because I got misinformed that L.A. deals only with planting and hard scape to proper link and access within or between buildings.
i have just started a landscape architecture degree after 2 years of town planning. i personally found planning too dry and not design orientated enough for me and architecture too concerned with form and aesthetics.
i was however able to transfer the knowledge i had from these disciplines into l/a. i really do think it takes all the best elements of planning, architecture and environmental science to create something that will make a difference in this world.
im only 14 and im really intrested in landscape architecture, though people are telling me i shouldnt take it as a major proffession and that it will be very difficult. Is it a good job and is it hard??
My friend is a landscape architect and he absolutely loves it. Likewise if you have a passion for design and nature, you should pursue it. Do not think of it as difficult, if this is your passion the you will appreciate the challenges that you will face.
Anyone that discourages you from pursuing a job that is hard, is someone you should avoid. Besides, do you really want an easy job, will you look forward to showing up to work.
Im currently in my second year in landscape architecture and i think its a fantastic course! There is a massive workload with this course, however, if you have an interest in it then you will like what your doing. Good luck with your future!
Pebble213 - If you still want to do Landscape Architecture by the time you finish High School - do it!!! I finished HS 20 years ago. I wanted to do design or landscaping. But my parents talked me out of it because I'm a girl! So I did hospitality, marketing, & business communications and had a couple of kids along the way. But guess what I' going to study next year?? Yup Landscape Architecture, finally. I'll be over 40 by the time I graduate. Don't make the same mistake. Follow your heart.
My elder daughter (12) is very fond of Australia and... Architecture, how are the studies of architecture in Australia, what is innovative and original in Australia compared to Europe, Canada or the USA?
Architecture and Design, a good reason to study in Australia?
