  • Well, the west has "poverty-fetish', sadism, taking pleasure in seeing people suffering and pretending to be generous and helpful but in reality enjoying it so that they can make their miserable lonely life look better! It is about time that Africa does with Chinese and all the other BRIC nations and leave these sadists and their aid obssesion alone. See how he shows horrible clips, while a reallity, they are not the only clips from Africa, there are birght ones, but he doesnt want to show!

  • Quality education, responsible stable and honestly established democracy, an empowered people through facilitation of small scale businesses are important in moving Africa ahead.

I think that a stable democracy or responsible government forms the bedrock for development. This helps to attract investors which in-turn helps to create jobs and subsequently a enhanced middle class you have mentioned

  • sexy 1234, Africa is a continent with over 50 nations. Dambisa, I think the major problem of most African states is corruption. Until the people fight for justice and truth in governance and realise the power they have the status quo will persist.

Programme aid has not done much because there is little or no system of accountability and many donor countries because of hidden agendas have not been able to hold corrupt recipient government officials accountable.

  • All the while Africa is slowly losing air. Before we die, we need to cut the noose, see all that we have and create our own economy, or strengthen it. In another one of her vids the stats said majority of Africans are under 25- that means we need education and jobs

  • The Chinese are at least doing something a little more equal- we take this and you get that.... we give this and you keep giving.... Now, for the Chinese to really benefit us we need real leaders with vision to ask for the things we really need like infrastructure, medicine, and schools, and the vision to train the people to use and maintain them..

  • To me the Chinese are not saying okay we will take what we an in unfair ways but more so we know what we need for our people and our country and we see what you can do for your country and your people and in the end they win more so. Africa is a huge un-tapped population and just like the other underdeveloped nations its on the come up regardless of its problems.

  • Remember countries such as Africa, India, and China have more history and tradition than a lot of places so to change that over into western standards is going to take time because they dont have the same values or needs as them. But as the world moves things are starting to equal out and thats what China sees.. or maybe just me. I am going home to Africa soon. I'm getting my education and I will be there to help. I seeyour vision Dimbasa

  • It works. AID doesn't. Are you so caught up in ideologies that you don't recognise the most important thing is to see human beings being taken out of the squalor of poverty and living productive, meaningful lives? Or are you content with the West continuing their underdevelopment of the African continent as they have done since the 1500s?
