I know that with this comment everybody will thumb it down...but...this looks even dumber than FFXII because in FFXII the battles were in real time, here you "enter" in them, like in the old FFs and the characters walk dumbly.
Yeah, the majority of PS3 and 360 games are not 1080p (even if they say so in the box), they are upscaled to that resolution, most games are rendered at 1280x720 or lower (like the console versions of Call of Duty 4/World at war and GTA IV).
Actually no game has been 1080 at all so far. Well, Gran Turismo was, but it only had half the horizontal lines of resolution considered HD. So it was half HD. So no game period has really been HD yet. It'll be exciting, when there is. As for 13, I'll buy it, I've played the hell out of all but XI. The story should be great with cool FMV but I think it's kind of hard to compete now with RPGs like Fallout 3 out there. Screw it though, been a fan since FF on the NES and they'll keep getting my $

That's the way they are able to make almost PC quality graphics on the 360 and PS3 and games seem to be getting better graphically even, but at the cost of lower resolution and probably no anti-liasing...or sketchy framerates.

so the very first trailer of this game was so fake. I thought they were going to make the battles like those in advent children.. and that it will be an evolved system of FFXII. It was so disappointing with all those news I've read but oh well, this isn't the final product yet.
Final Fantasy XII is turned based. It is just made to look like real time. You still have an ATB gauge in 12 so you have to wait for your turn. That is not real time combat.

glad it isnt fully turn based, never liked that. now it seems to be set up as a turn based game, but you can just attack whenever. good stuff

Meh, I wasn't a fan of the real time battles. Made XII feel more like an MMO and not a true blue Final Fantasy.
