  • Death, the great equalizer. Who, shall I say, is calling? Timeless song.

  • Is the same version as the one on the album l. Cohen Live

  • Léonard Cohen et son équipe de 1988 étaient tout simplement excellents !

  • @traumwander Same! :P and then my R.E teacher showed me it today lol

  • @traumwander I know!!! Am I the only one who thinks Cohen sounds and looks like a stereotypical Chicago gangster (I mean fedora + deep husky voice)

  • beautiful

  • ♪♫♥ !

  • Truly beautiful, particularly Jonathan Pierce on Spanish guitar.

  • beautiful.

  • By far the best of the live versions I've heard on YT. Thanks for posting it.

  • my daughter is seven....she says...."I LOVE YOUR MUSIC!!!!!!and I LOVE THE MELODY,THE LYRICS,EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ...me too! Favorite to both of us, thanks Mr. C

  • Poet, singer by accident! ;)

  • Awe-some. Literally.

I can't imagine how even the Voice of the Lord Himself could be any more moving.

messalina79, thank you SO much for posting this here.

But I'd swear I've heard this version -- complete with lute (I mean oud -- thank you seepaert for pointing that out) -- in some other context. Don't think I've ever been on this page before, so...

Anyone have any idea where else I might have run across this?

Any movie use this as part of the soundtrack?

  • A in itself very powerful song is played and sung so held back, that it creeps on your spine.

I think this is one pf Leonards best concerts ever given. Partly because of the band, consisting of masters in their craft.

  • Not so prominent as in "The Partisan", but still very important: John Belazikian on the Oud.

  • Simplemente excepcional...

  • really good performance. love the instruments

  • amazing

    :X
