Yup. I've found finely tuning the IAC valve helps fix 75% of the problem as I can now drive with my A/C on. However, I now get the issue more frequently during normal driving without A/C. I might try just setting my base idle to 1000 and seeing if that keeps it from stalling when it bottoms out on the rollercoaster.
I had the same problem on my 2000 miata w a M45 JRSC. Tried all kinds of things, replaced hosing, spark plug wires, different sensor settings, even pulled out the fuses out of my fuse box a few times to "reset" the computer. Finally fixed it by starting and stopping much more smoothly than before. I miss being able to "kick" my miata into full drive, but I guess this is a better way to drive anyway. If I stop abruptly, say, 5 to 10 times in a row, the idling problem starts all over again.
I believe it has to do with either overheating or a hose leak. Either way, I'm installing a new Koyo rad and replacing all my hosing. And no, it's hunting and coming back up on it's own. I purchased the car a couple months ago with the M45 already installed.

Did you figure it out?
Do you have to blip the throttle to keep it alive, or is it hunting and almost dying?
Is this a new install, or did it just happen on an otherwise well running SC install?
