  • Since there seems to be some Patty interest:

    Cant create the link. :((

But: Search for: Scandal-"Love's Got a Line On You" Version 1

The guitarist in the purple shirt playing the black guitar fronted a little band you might have heard of called Bon Jovi. Yea... Patty had some decent session musicians for her vids.

  • Cool. This is not mtv version that I remember so vividly. Had some bad green screen 'animation' plus the band members did not do that fade out thing after she goodbye them.

Copy the string below into youtube and you'll see the real deal

  • Ya know what i miss about the 80's? Beautiful women with REAL boobs. Why women today think that big ole fake lookin triple D plastic boobs look good...is beyond me. Patty is super sexy here..and all natural.

  • @discerdan It's her eyes.

  • @thoa1960 its her everything...just sexy as hell,..but i will give ya props on the eyes..they are exceptionally sexy

  • I feel so lucky that I grew up in the 80's. What a great time I had.

  • @discerdan I grew up in the 90's listing to alot of cool 80's music like this. It Ruled!

  • Patty sounds & even looks a bit like Toni Basil ("Mickey") if she'd been a rocker instead. Of course this is better though, lol.

  • I'll bet that keyboard player hit that shit!

  • @hando88c "That keyboard player" is Paul Shaffer... Yea.. THAT Paul Shaffer.

  • @thoa1960 gtfo! I didn't know that

  • I like watching her dance around.

  • I remember watching this video and saying, she is the hottest chick around, about a year later I met a girl that looked like a twin sister, I was so nervous and had a hard time talking to her. Fortunately I became more confident and came into my own self but it was really weird and kind of uncomfortable but that song paved the way for a great relationship and great friendship with a really great person. 80's were great and some good music is still worth listening too.

  • I was 10 years old...a baby!!!!

  • #147(Tie)

  • Back when just looking good wasn't enough (and she looks awesome here), talent was just as important.

  • Thank you for posting this rarely seen video of Patty Smyth and Scandal.

    Ohh the memories !

  • Patty Smythe is a beautiful woman, with the right voice for this song, a great body, good moves and a great looking little red dress. She exudes sex appeal. When I say "hot," I mean hot.

  • Time Machine or Worm Hole!!!!!!!!!

  • heard her on howard stern shuffle. shes a hot mouth at first, i was amost gonna shut her out but turned out to be a gracious person and i became a new again fan. hugs and love

  • Great Video and Song from a union that didn't last long enough. She was never as good solo and they never did much after she departed, either, that I know of. I loved this video and the song the first time I heard it. The EP that this song was released on is a mini masterpiece and is one I covet that is long out of print. They should have released an album or two more before the split...a missed opportunity for all of us.

  • fuckin comercials

  • She looks hot without looking cheap.

  • I remember this video from Beavis and Butt-Head.

  • My intro to Scandal was via T.V. with the show "Fridays," whereupon I immediately ordered through Columbia House mail order service (remember? -Terre Haute, Indiana) and when I got the EP I was thrilled! I loved every song. I wish they had lasted longer, though, they had something...

  • Man I miss the 80's!!!!!!!! Love this song!

  • Back in the day when music had magic and an actual beat. Jay Z, Lady Gaga, Katie Perry. Music today is a total joke. There is more artistic stimulation to staring at a wall than listening to these talentless dopes.

  • I was way too young to realise just how hot she was back in the day...Giggity.

  • jesus christ... im only 13 and i wanna live in the 80's... I hate today's shittty music

  • @VanHalenFreak99 Son do your homework !

  • This video is 30 years old, still smokin' hot.

    '80s had something special.

  • Classic early 80s video....recorded in about two hours in a borrowed studio. Total production budget was probably about $1000 including haircuts and lunch. Beautiful in every way!

  • Patty , I'm Mikey , The Antarctic Flying Ace , Your music had always touched my heart . I met you at Harlows in Stone Mt. Georgia . When we were all young . I had a beautiful Sturgis Harley before I got into aircraft . You are still beautiful and sexy as always !!!!!!!!!! Cheers on you girl.........

  • I got to see Patty at Bogarts in Cincinnati. I hadn't heard of them at the time as they were the opening act for Golden Earring, but I was an instant fan. Yeah Patty was particularly fetching that night.

  • Patty Smyth is cool & the keyboard player rocked the mullet

  • This version of the video is missing all the crazy stripes. Why would they remove them? They were the icing!

  • YES!!

  • and the minute 3:16 bn patty makes a small step to walk on tiptoe rare jajjajajajjajjajaja XD: D

  • at minute 3:32 it seems that the guitarist is constipated

  • They use this music for Burnout 2 Point of Impact for the original Xbox.

  • yes patty smythe is a genuine hottie id love to have been her man i was teenager when this song came out loved it then and more now and all her hits wow smokin body what a babe

  • This is back when MTV was new. I remember I was in Florida on vacation getting hammered when this came out and it was on MTV like every 20 minutes and on the radio but not as much as MTV..

BIG crush on Patty Smyth me and a few million more.

  • she so fn hot

  • welcome to 80,s.

  • She is cute !! Check out her shuffle move at 3:16

  • ...And is it me, or is the guy in the white jacket sending off signals that say this song could be about him? LOL

  • Love those '80s videos that could be filmed in my basement today!

I wasn't sure who did this song - I've just heard it here & there in recent years. For ex., I saw a rerun of "Kate & Allie" in which Samantha (was that the character's name? The blonde who could sing...) sang this w/ her band. Samantha did a nice job, but Patty Smyth will never be topped.

This simply rocks - a real gem from the best decade ever!

  • Love this song, always forget about Scandal, I don't know why.

  • Its like being in a time capsule. I love the dancing and the song. I like current music and the 80s music and find myself listening to both.

  • pure shit!!!!!!!

  • What a fantastic video!

  • WOW sin palabras !!solo tengo que decir excelnte video y rola!!!

  • So peppy and bouncy and so...80s! I love it.

  • Didn't know Robin Williams played lead guitar, I'll be damn'd!!!!

  • This song must long a lot more, it's fucking rocking amazing

  • Well look at that! Will Ferrel on the keys!

  • The eighties is the reason the world wishes for a time machine.

  • @italpe1 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • @italpe1 Yeah right... I miss my '85 Ford Escort so much I wish I had it back.

  • @italpe1 absolutely right on that one!!!

  • @italpe1 If those of us who grew up in the 80's knew what music would've ended up like, we would have stayed back in the 80's:)

  • @italpe1 I was in HS and college in the 80s.. so yea. :PPPP

  • Although he's not in this video, that's Paul Shaffer with the sweet "Dell Shannon-esque" organ solo...

  • Man, I haven't heard this in ages! Patty Smythe is looking pretty smoking here!

  • @SteevDragon67

Yes, and that little red outfit is so gosh darn cute and sexy in a non-icky way.

Imagine Rihanna or Britney or even Avril dressing like that?

  • @SteevDragon67 I'm sure her husband John McEnroe would agree

  • @SteevDragon67 She does the sassy Pat Benatar thing very well but one thing this woman is not, is smokin hot!

  • @SteevDragon67 I agree...I had quite the crush on her back in the day...

  • wow era lindaaaa paty hermosa cancion me gusta como chica positiva bonbom! xD asi rockea rockea xD Super Fantastic xD

  • Soooo, the video is leading me to believe that she did everyone in the band ?

  • WTF!!! Don't get me wrong I'm a die hard fan of most 80's music this included but this version of the video just doesn't cut it with me! Where can I find the version with the swirls and squiggly lines! YouTube used to have it so where can I find it these days?

  • Love Patti!!!

  • Excellent song but it looks like the video was made in the booth at Six Flags...

  • 2:21 Hello there.

  • An opinion is just that, including mine. But in my opinion, this is POP!

  • @innamorata40 I positively agree with you regarding EVERYONE having their opinion. As far as your comment below "WATTS..Good rock song. But, so different from "Goodbye to You", I agree with THAT as well. But HERE'S 'the thing'; i.e. "different'. Take The Beatles vs. The Stones. Absolutely different. No way on God's green earth can you say that The Beatles were NOT a Rock Band. Yet, some of their material was absolutely also 'tinged' with Pop, while 'Helter Skelter' started the Metal scene.

  • Check out my Video above, innamorato40, of my friends the Boston Band 'Watts' and let me know if THEY sufficiently ROCK for you. (Whadaya know; NO 'cute' chick........)

  • @Ramusiewicz - WATTS..Good rock song. But, so different from "Goodbye to You"

  • One of THE BEST 'Straight Ahead Rock' Tunes EVER !!!

  • @Ramusiewicz Ok.....if you say so. Cute song, cute girl. But this is POP and not rock!

  • @innamorata40 Hey Man, I've been listening to ROCK since I was 4 years old. That was 1956 when Elvis turned the Music Culture COMPLETELY over. Yeah, since then I've SEEN the ORIGINAL Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green, The Yardbirds, Cream, Zeppelin, Humble Pie, 10 Years After, etc. & worked WITH Aerosmith & continue to follow & try & find GOOD Rock. THIS tune is NOT "cute". Although I DO agree with you that there is a touch of Pop here the POUNDING Rythym Section constitutes ROCK.

  • @innamorata40 no,..its not pop....its rock-n-roll....Truely the only ones who can say with all authority is the band itself...and Scandal,..my friend....was a rock-n-roll band.

  • @innamorata40 - I wasn't quite sure how to classify this - it's kind-of an amalgam. A pop tune that rocks & has some New Wave flourishes - or something like that. LOL

  • women,s liberation brought problems of masculinity to these guys.

  • I'm not gay but most men have issues with their masculinity . Whats up with all the that looks gay thing?? I don't get it ? I know I'm not gay and I don't have to express that fact. No wonder a lot of women think men are A-holes, most of them are,lol (P.S. that was the style back then )

  • 2:21 is the best part of the song...I love the 80's

  • lol

  • q bonito es recordar con mi mejor idolo patty

  • patty was a good looking lady, and damn, she could sing. Show me a singer who can sing like that today.

  • I AM 15 AND I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • She looked so freaking hot at about 1:28.

  • I used to listen to this song whenever I was about to break up with someone.

  • Patti now has to suck John McEnroes Tennis balls through his racket to get the job of wife....

  • Fantastic

  • I was so in love with her!

Loved this song- saw them in Tampa and was on the floor in the front row- even hotter in person!

  • could be a hit TODAY

  • John McEnroe, you lucky dog.

  • I loved the 80's music. Why don't they make good music like they used to. I really hate music nowadays. It's crap! This song Rock!

  • @tonmonk There IS still good new music being made, but you won't find it on the radio, MTV, VH1, or most of the major traditional music outlets... The people making the decisions on what to fill those sources with are more interested in "the next big thing", whether it's good or not. You have to do the legwork to find it, but it's out there. A good source I've found, is places like YouTube & Facebook, and friend recommendations. There's LOTS of great new bands that are struggling to get noticed

  • amazing voice beautiful melody

  • As I understand it, Patty Smyth was approached by friend Eddie Van Halen to replace David Lee Roth, but she said that it wouldn't be the right sound the band as they knew it. They had to get another GUY. That guy was Sammy Haggar. But Patty Smyth was always a great singer and a Rockin' Chick!!!

  • @retroharvey65 Well since she was friends with Eddie's wife, Valerie, I could see this taking place. Imagine Van Halen w/ a hot chick like Patty to front them.

  • (belated) R.I.P to Ivan Elias and to Frankie LaRocka.

  • In an interview she stated she liked the BAD GUY.

  • hey guys, check a great cover of this song: /watch?v=XBevOMUCmX4

  • goodbyee to youuuu!! ♪

  • “Un corazón grande se llena con poco.” "A big heart is filled with little." Antonio Porchia (1886-1968) Escritor argentino de origen italiano “Dueño del Universo, yo regulo su fortuna. I can name kings, I can dismiss them, But in my heart I can not answer. " Jean-Baptiste Racine (1639-1699) Poeta trágico francés.
  • Just remembered way back when, Eddie Van Halen wanted to hire Patty after firing David Roth but Valerie wouldn't let him have her or any other female singer!

  • Oooooh I luv this song, soooo many memories!!!!:-D

  • LOL the look on the keys guy @2:39

  • Where's the version with the crazy multi colours going on in the background..and why does satan aka lady gaga have to be on the left.

  • I remember when Beavis and Butthead spoofed this. "Goodbye to Poo!!"

  • Felices años 80s, extraño la alegria de esa epoca ,lo actual es shit

  • She oozes with confidence even at this young age...Loved her since this vid came out....

  • My wife and I will be going to see Patty and Scandal open for Cheap Trick tomorrow night at Val Du Lakes here in Silver Lake Michigan tomorrow night. I'll try and let you know how well they performed.

  • @kaloncar I have to work tomorrow. Maybe you could post a video for those of us here in Muskegon who can't go to Val Du.I've seen Cheap Trick a couple of times but never saw Scandal. Maybe I could call in sick........

  • @vf74tomcat --Wow, thanks for replying, I'm shocked that someone from as close to me as Muskegon would be in the same thread of discussion over a video on YouTube. Aren't these old concert videos incredible?

I'd love to make a video of the concert and upload it, but I haven't got anything to do that with. I'll try and see if anyone else there is capable of doing it.

Wish you could be there...maybe you could call in afterall. Ha ha

  • @kaloncar Gonna work 12 hours tonight. Won't get out til 3 am. Let me know how the show was. Have fun. Val Du for you, Howmet for me. LOL!

  • We had a great time. The warm up band was Miles Nielsen. Miles is the son of Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick. His music was a great mix of Cheap Trick, Beatles, and Tom Petty. They also featured a clarinet in the band that sounded refreshing. As for Patty she looked great and sounded good too. At one point she said, "not bad for a day over 50 huh?" We agreed. Cheap Trick rocked the house with a mix of old and new.

  • man, she's got great teeth.

  • Is that a young Will Ferrell on the drums?? haha

  • @kindralore Woops. I meant key board.

  • I still love this song. They clearly didnt have a big production budget though and thats some really bad lip-synching. lol

  • Patty Smyth was hot as hell!!!

  • She will be this age forever! rock stars should go out gracefully....but the never do....

  • If I was going to pick a song to define the 80's... This would probably be it!!!!!

  • 1:59 George Clooney stares into your soul
