Gigantic powerlines are popping up against the wish of most people in western Norway, in what National Geographic calls the best travel destination in the world. From Sunnmøre (Hjørundfjorden) to Sogn og Fjordane and Hardangerfjorden. This is unesco world heritage material. Geiranger in Sunnmøre is right next to Hjørundfjorden and only became a world heritage site a few years ago. We must make Hjørundfjorden a world heritage site too, soon, or it will be to late. Hardanger is lost it seems.

toresjente: Just relax, In Norway you can have a extremely good high lifestandard, good salaries and social benefits. Remember Denmark is more expencive, but they don't have an amazing nature. Sweden is cheaper, but there people don't have any jobs, and those who are so lucky to have a job earns 30% less in average compared with a Norwegian :) Therefore they flee their home country for to work in Norway, where you find Europes lowest unemployment rate :)

If you want to see things like this, you find it only in Norway. Nope it's not a nationalistic opinion, it's a fact, If you are going to Scandinavia, you will see it quick, that scenery like this, is not to be found in Sweden or Denmark. Sweden is just forrests (They got some mountains up in north tho, but no fjords ) Denmark is completely flat

Nice nature scenery in Scandinavia is found in Norway and Finland.

Though there are few mountains and fjords in Finland it's known as "A Land of a Thousand Lakes"

Sweden and Denmark is nothing to see nature wise, though they have a lot of other things to offer ofcourse.

I would recommend taking a trip to Iceland if you are staying for a while.

But to sum it up; Norway, no doubt, has the best scenery. I believe most foreigners would agree on that.

I worked in a small hotel at the very tip of Aurlandsfjord in Flam, Sognefjord many years ago, and it was a dream experience. The place is soooooo beautiful.
