lol. I'm keeping the Mac OS. Mac OS X is similar to Ubuntu IMO. I may dual-boot Windows if I find that Wine or some other compatibility layer doesn't run properly.
Okay how are you doing this? Here's what I've tried. I have Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty (for i386) and the Mac recognizes the CD as "Foreign OS on the volume Ubuntu 7.04 i386" and I tried to get it to boot off the CD (simply selecting Ubuntu in the Start Up Disk option in System Preferences) and restarted. The CD would not take and after a second ejected, so I had to go back into the Mac and assign the hard drive as my start up disk. Am I using the wrong version? I want to put Ubuntu on a USB Hard Disk.
it would be great to invent new generation networking, free, open source, community maintained."LIFI"--linux fidellity xD,people invented so much BAD things, why not REINVENT THE INTERNET???
I was not comparing Ubuntu to OS X. Sorry if you misunderstood my video. I was showing how well Ubuntu runs on the MacBook without any mods or coding. I just booted the live CD and it ran perfectly.
im getting a macbook and ima slap ubuntu on that puppy ...being using linux for 5 years from slackware to suse! Ubuntu Rocks hard!!!

u cannot compare OS X to Ubuntu. In OS X everything just works, in Ubuntu you have to code it :D But still better than winz, where NOTHING works

you dont have to "code"(compile) stuff in nubuntu you see noobuntu is based on debian and uses apt repositories
24oscar24 3 years ago
I know, but when something is not working, or you want some feature the easiest way is to code it on your own :)
By the way a got a new MacBook wooohoooO! and I also tried ubuntu 8.04 cool with effects!
