If not here, then where? If one cannot discuss religion in a place where it probably won't be accepted by some, then what's the point of discussing it at all. If you only talk to people who are "saved" in the eyes of Allah, how do you get more people to be "saved?" If you don't, then isn't that against the Quran? I have studied religion, not just the western one where I was born, many religions. They are all about the same and all have to be taken on faith as there is no proof that any of it is true. I have also studied science, I find it much more logical. Believe me, I wish there was a god, and afterlife, something more than what we know, but there simply isn't. You have missed my point, I would love to just tend to my dogs and cats, but religious people are interfering with that, at Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. etc. They come to my country and ram planes into buildings and in turn my religious leaders declare war on a country that wasn't even involved. I respect that and agree with it. A major source of violence is coming from religion. I was just trying to clear the stereotypes before people judge others. If people keep their beliefs to themselves and not "advertise" their religion in any way, we definitely will be closer to world peace. Children should not be "given" a religion by their parents. If not here, then where? If one cannot discuss religion in a place where it probably won't be accepted by some, then what's the point of discussing it at all. If you only talk to people who are "saved" in the eyes of Allah, how do you get more people to be "saved?" If you don't, then isn't that against the Quran? It was speculated to be about America taking Israel's side on the Israel/ Palestine ordeal. I'm not saying the Quaran tells anyone to act violently. I agree that the extremist take it out of context. So did the Christians during the Crusades, the Ottomans, the Hindu's, etc. etc. That will always be a problem. The real argument here is not about what the text says, it's the belief in the text as truth. All religious books with a large following were written a long time ago with a high probablity to keep people in line. None of these things can be proven true and prayer helps nothing.

It's pretty much the old testement of the Christian Bible with it's own version of a new testement. They're both books filled with stories to scare children, really, it's the 21st century. I respect that you believe these things because you have been taught them from basically birth, but I challenge you to pick up a science book and apply logic to the words of religious books, all of them, not just the Quran, and see how the men who preach this do so, just to keep the money coming in.

I have studied religion, not just the western one where I was born, many religions. They are all about the same and all have to be taken on faith as there is no proof that any of it is true. I have also studied science, I find it much more logical. Believe me, I wish there was a god, and afterlife, something more than what we know, but there simply isn't. I respect that and agree with it. A major source of violence is coming from religion. I was just trying to clear the stereotypes before people judge others. If people keep their beliefs to themselves and not "advertise" their religion in any way, we definitely will be closer to world peace. Children should not be "given" a religion by their parents. I'm sorry, I work in the field of medical and forensic sciences, the fact that 3rd degree burns are not felt has been known in the western world for quite sometime, it's not that hard to figure out either, when Ugh and Grunt were cavemen discovering fire, they noticed that Ugh got burnt and it hurt, but it healed, Grunt was burned and he didn't feel it, but his arm turned black and fell off, he soon after died. We don't need a book or microscope to figure that out. Ugh stopped touching the fire.
