Absolutely stunning rendition of an equally beautiful composition by one of Pakistan's great daughters. We are used to hear of Sons but Parveen Shakir changed the tenor of Urdu Poetry for ever with "Larki" did she not? If nothing else, Pakistan is blessed with its poets, and artists in the fields of performance and visual arts. That the street where Parveen Shakir met with the fatal accident is named after her is testament enough to the Art World of Pakistan. May her Soul rest in peace.

Nawab Shaukat sb, has given all things so accurately that I am searching for more words to be written here ... really glorious composition indeed and it came at that era when music was growing on PTV as Bazmi Sb made some unbelievable compositions for PTV, but this Ghazal is one of my all time classics masterpieces ... thank you for posting and sharing !

@Jamshed09 : same here. I last heard the song in 1985 or so on radio lahore but never could get hold of a recording. she had another song that played on radio - kuch din to baso meri aankhon mein. after hearing her you never feel like listenign to Ghulam Ali's versions of the songs..

Thanks friend! I've watched the movie. Is it "ankh se door na ho dil se uttar jaye ga" If yes, the ghazal is sung by Noor Jehan. If some other, I would try to find or record it from the movie!

This is one of the most MELODIUS and difficult COMPOSITION of legendry ARTIST yes THE GREATAST COMPOSER of all time NISAR BAZMI and is composed in raag MUDHWANTI This is favourite RAAG of bazmi saab as he has also composed another song of KHAN SAAB from the film INTEZAAR the song is EID KA DIN HAY GALAY Which I consider the best song for EID including INDIA and this IMMORTAL MELODY has becme immortal because of its beutiful poetry from BEAUTIFUL LADY late PARVEEN SHAKIR
