When I saw this in 1992 it was the first Rock performance I've seen, Ian was the first rock star for me it was like seeing Elvis in 1956! I was into The Pet shop boys, New order then, Now I'm a rockn roll animal form the 50's to well 90's cuz last 10 years suckd, hey lovin the Roses are back though!! but anyway because this got me into it Ian is the closest to my Heart even more then Lennon [but Lennon is God] to me Ian is post punk's Frank Sinatra! this performace really did change my life!!
You remember how you felt when you first heard and loved this song? That's how I'm feeling right now, goosebumps and all. Such a groundbreaking band, so glad a friend turned me on to them :)
its been so long since ive heard this song but it still sends chills down my spine but also make me wanna dance. S I M P L Y A G R E A T S O N G B Y A G R E A T B A N D .
My daughter came said a classmate was crumping badly and demonstrated it for me. I said, "You wanna see the original crumper? Check this out!" And show her this. She was duly impressed. God Bless You, Ian!
@sketchingpencils the cinema biopic on Ian Curtis is "Control" ... probably best viewed in conjunction with the fact/fictumentary "24 Hour Party People" (if only for Steve Coogan being Anthony H. Wilson). IMHO Mr Curtis was pretty much Vincent van Gogh, but from Macclesfield. So, not Dutch. Doing music rather than painting. When the world was imploding at the end of the 1970s, rather than before WWI had even happened. Er... so, not that much like van Gogh, after all.
@katoness:Instead of 1979 i guess 2011 (+ the coming decades) will be a shit time for a lot of confused mindless kids of today.Pessimism is not necessarily a bad attitude watching how many unintelligent people are on this planet-look at Fukushima in Japan now.At least 1979 there was no economic bankruptcy like in the USA now with state debts of 13.5 trillion dollar-13.500.000.000
Try to cure the idiots at Wall Street & other investment banks+the former cocaine addict Bush who all did this mess!
@MrSKINFLICK With rather a large evil helping hand by the rothchilds, all that money is just one big illusion. Which is why they love talking and repeating themselves about how much money the taxpayer owes. What a fucking farce!! However, I do get what ur saying.
@katoness:i refuse to blame the "Jews" for each+everything.Of course Hitler here in Germay was supported by each+everything of industrial barons in the States-including Henry Ford"etc bla bla - till they recognized what a silly spoilt brat they had taken to land: Oh these Anglo-Saxons are always so"good-willing": Saddam Hussein -Mujahedin -Osama in the 80s+Nixon in China 1972...clever political scientists in Europe always analyze that Americans want everything of their "positive" rewarded...LOL
@MrSKINFLICK This is not anti-semitic. the majority of Jews are good people. We are talking about 1% here. People assume if you say Roschild your anti semit, anyway there Zionists, a big difference.
@katoness:I did not want to imply that you are anti-semitic. In many cases "politicians" are even sillier than industrial barons...look at the old demented Thatcher in England now...i hope her sitiuation doesn´t burden the health system too much.Kohl in Germany is a similar case...his naive illusions about "flourishing landscapes" in the former GDR created a considerable national debt in Germany + neo-nazi gangs there. The Republi-cunt campaigns in the USA exceed everything of course...

Joy Division will always be underground.
I see the same comments from people recently than when I first got to listen to a Joy Division song on youtube.
Timeless.

The audience were there to watch The Jam, who headlined the show, they were just bewildered by Joy Division

Maybe the wanker audience think it's a rubbish band playing easy music badly, who knows.
