Please tell me how much this lens costs in your country? I found it here in Serbia for 125e but it doesn't say it is HSM model, which is very important for me as I have Nikon D60 that doesn't have internal focusing motor. On all web sites selling that lens in Belgrade there is just model "Sigma 55-200mm DC for Nikon" and it costs around 125e. So either they think that by default that lens is HSM or they have just lens that is not HSM...

You can get good results with tripod or monopod. But if you want take pictures holding camera in hands you should search for lens with optical stabilizer.
